Thanks muchly for the welcome. The printing seems to be a niche thing. I have been a subscriber for decades but have only once made it to feedback and never onto the letters page. And of course, WP is a totally different universe. It has more or less ruined my life. OK. I've restored it to User:Nstriedinger/MG and the Gas City three. If you can get references that fit WP:RS and show some importance, it can come back into article space then. Don't move it before asking for advice as to whether it passes or not. Avoids disappointment. Take note of what Theo said about IMDb. We use it a lot - but never to show notability. We use it to check the roles played by someone, or whether they were even in a film they are claiming to have starred in. We require independent sources for notability. It's coherent, but not meaningful in a real sense (to real Wikipedians). I have great fun creating examples of real non-coherence. Every one different. Peridon, you deleted the entry for the New Hampshire Liberty Party based on A7 (Article about a group or club, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject). Can you please explain how a political party in New Hampshire supporting secession is not important or significant? FreePressPublications (talk) 18:02, 13 September 2012 (UTC)

Founded less than a fortnight ago, no references to independent reliable sources WP:RS, and the article consisting mainly about their aims. There are three co-chairs, but no indication of how many members. Being a political party anywhere supporting anything is not notable per se. You still have to comply with WP:GNG or perhaps WP:GROUP to get an article. I looked for references (not very far) but couldn't see anything beyond social networking and blogs - and own site stuff which cannot be used to show notability. Anyone can start a political party (except perhaps in North Korea...). Anyone can be a rapper (possibly even in North Korea). Anyone can be the CEO of a company (not in North Korea). Deletion of Bedrock Geology UK North

You stated in your response that you are unable to accept my assertion that I have full authority to give permission for Rhondeag to use the material on the page Bedrock Geology UK North, as an employee of the copyright holder Natural Environment Research Council (NERC).

Please could you inform me how I can prove that I have full authority on behalf of the copyright holder NERC to allow this material to be uploaded on to Wikipedia, and what level of proof does Wikipedia require to show I have this authority to grant permission to Rhondeag.

You can accept my assertion that I am an administrator on the English language Wikipedia as this can be verified in an official list, and by the fact that I have the 'power' to delete and restore articles WP:ADMINISTRATOR. This is a verifiable assertion. I'm afraid I have nothing but your assertion that you and Rhondeag are connected in any way to the NERC or the BGS (or that you are two different editors and not one person). I am assuming the better position, that you are two people and that you in particular are higher up the chain of command. I am not going to ask you to 'out' yourselves (see WP:OUTING), but I do ask you to read WP:COPYVIO and WP:DCM where details of how to allow materials under your control may by licensed for use, and how this position may be verified. DCM gives more info on the licensing variations. As to the question of non-free content, I would advise waiting a couple of days for Moonriddengirl to return. However, I would draw your attention to On the Internet, nobody knows you're a dog both for its relevance to our care over unprovable assertions, and the 'fair use' of the cartoon in question. In case I seem over suspicious, I would tell you that I have been involved in more than one case where someone has used multiple names and styles, and we do get students pretending to be their tutors (occasionally reasonably well...). There is a lot of work on Wikipedia that is not seen by the casual visitor, in keeping information accurate and free from bias, and in keeping advertising out. Also, there is work in keeping vandals down and avoiding legal problems. With over 4,000,000 articles, this is quite a lot when you consider that we are volunteers (including the few Wikimedia employees, who do their work on Wikipedia as volunteers except when enforcing some ruling from the top). Tittre

I have made an article for the word tittre. You deleted it so I wanted to make it again but I'm afraid you will just delete it again. The word tittre is very unpopular, not found in any dictionary's or on the web. So I thought I would add it to Wikipedia because you would let me, and the world needs to know about tittre. Witch is why I'm conplaing that You deleted my article, because I have tried to add this article to Wikipedia for 2 years now, but every time it's gets deleted. By the way tittre means shame on you. No, we won't let you unless you can show that it IS in use and known. This isn't a place for promoting things, from businesses to new words. Please do not put up any more pages about it until you can show notability, and do not add it to other articles. You're not the first to try to get a 'new' word on here, and you won't be the last. Find a proper subject and check that it's not already there. Have a look at WP:PRIMER and ask at the Teahouse WP:TEAHOUSE. They're very good at getting people started. No. This isn't the place for simple dictionary definitions. They are at Wiktionary, but they are only established words. As there are no references for tittre as a word in English, it doesn't belong in either. You could try Urban Dictionary - they have a lot of new and unusual stuff. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, and we only record things that can be referenced and verified. End of story, I'm afraid. Peridon (talk) 14:08, 16 September 2012 (UTC)

I can assure that the content is respecting the artist´s biography and that the links are proven. In case there is some special rule about that, please let me know in DETAIL, since a simple deletion of the entire page is not helpful for improving the material on wikipedia.

Please sign in when asking about something like this - it makes it easier to know who we are talking to and to find your contributions. OK. I deleted the article because the text is copyright and cannot be brought in here. It has already been published at http://www.beatmp3.net/artist/reentko.html. You may well have written it. It still can't just be copied straight in. Wikipedia is licensed under CC-BY-SA for reuse by anyone, anywhere. Your text isn't licensed under Creative Commons, and can't be reused by anyone anywhere. So it can't be posted here. Text that is licensed can be, with an acknowledgement, and also text that is in the public domain (which means there is no copyright on it) can be. Public domain is usually stuff like the works of Charles Dickens, because he died more than 70 years ago, or some stuff from certain US Government departments, but there are arguments that the latter are not necessarily free in every nation. Also, you fail to show notability - please see WP:BAND. That is worded more for pop stuff, and other forms of music may not be as tough to get through - but with no references, you stand no chance. The first time it was deleted was because there were no reliable independent sources WP:RS. Own sites don't count as independent (and many are not reliable either...), and non-reliable places include blogs, forums, wikis, reverbnation, discogs, Facebook, YouTube and so on. No biography of a living person will last more than 10 days with no references. Anything that is copyright will go even quicker. Sorry, those are the rules. We don't just take people's word for things. (If you looked at the articles in the deletion categories, you might find it easier to understand why we don't take people's word without support.) I worked on adding references, credible material etc... Another wiki editor has been kind enough to clearly steer me through the proper code formatting so it all makes sense. It was gone, but any admin can restore an article that's deleted. (Unless the oversighters have been at it, in which case only they can. I think they can, anyway. Never come across a case of then doing it to something deleted yet.) It's now at User:Johncumbancha/SarazinoDraft. BTW Don't just put your signature at the end of talk posts as a link - just type in four ~ things only. That turns magically into your signature and a datestamp as soon as you save. Jimmy Wales will have read your post on his talk page, and as he hasn't made a comment, I think that means he agrees with my answer. You wouldn't ask Влади́мир Влади́мирович Пу́тин to deal with a problem like a blocked drain, would you? Jimmy doesn't deal with things like undeleting articles - there is a place specially for that and in your case that is ru:Википедия:К восстановлению. That is the place on the Russian Википедия for people to ask for articles to be brought back from the grave. Only administrators on the Russian Википедия can undelete the article. But first, ask yourself why they deleted the articles. Perhaps they were not showing that Пётр Иванович Соседов was a person of importance. Perhaps they seemed to be advertising for him. Perhaps there already was an article about him. I cannot say, as I cannot read the deleted articles. I am an administrator here, but I am not an administrator on any other Wikipedia, and not very many people are administrators on more than one. You can ask the administrators there to explain why they deleted the articles. You have made a lot of edits and administrators are usually helpful to people who want to know more and build the Wikipedias. I spend a lot of time explaining things to editors here, but I can't be more help than this on Russian matters. No administrator deletes articles just for fun. If one did, he or she would lose their powers quickly. We have to have reasons. Ask to have those reasons explained. Good luck. Peridon (talk) 18:37, 19 September 2012 (UTC)

You've got me there. I use Twinkle, and it's dead easy with that. (pause) Look at WP:AFDHOWTO - it's complicated. One of the least user-friendly bits of Wikipedia. With Twinkle, you just click a button, type in your reason, and choose a category (or not if you're not sure), and finally click Submit. Twinkle does all the rest. Very handy for CSD too. WP:TWINKLE. If you get lost or totally boggled, let me have your reasons and I'll paste them in on Twinkle. Best if you learn how, though. You're bound to need it again. Or get Twinkle. No qualifications needed, so far as I know, unlike Huggle. It has a Rollback facility, but I've almost never used rollback myself. (If you're ever thinking of adminship, being a rollbacker is a Good Thing. Shows you're reputable. I was one and used it about four times, one of which was by mistake - so I rolled myself back.) Twinkle is good for tagging for things like unreferenced, uncategorised, and other offences. It can give warnings, too. I've not seen the non-admin list as I only got it after I got my mop. I think it upset some people that I'd done about 12,000 edits without using anything automated. If you do ask me to do the dirty deed, it'll probably be tomorrow (my time) as I'm just waiting for the water to get hot so I can go for a bath followed by bed. At present, I can't restore them. The Playhouse was deleted as a copyvio, because the text was already published - and therefore copyright. Who wrote it doesn't matter, I'm afraid. It's that it's been published - that is, it's been put in front of the public. For this, website is the same as book. Wikipedia is licensed under CC-BY-SA 3.0 (Creative Commons) which means it can be used by anyone anywhere (so long as the URL is given to acknowledge the source). Your site isn't licensed. Therefore, we cannot accept text from it. I'd better put a common misunderstanding to rest here. Wikipedia is "free to edit". Yes. But it's not free webspace. It's an encyclopaedia. You have posted here as an IP address. I can trace that to a country and possibly ISP. (Not accurately - my IP tracks to a totally different part of the country to where I live - or two places, even. And it's not a Tor node or anything odd. My tracking isn't like that used by the Checkusers WP:CHECKUSER, though.) But I don't know who you are - just as (I hope...) you don't know who I am, except that I've been here some time and am an administrator and use the name Peridon (which means little to most people who don't know me well). The Playhouse would have to license that text to us (see WP:COPYVIO for details, but I don't recommend going through that hassle. The text would probably not be accepted anyway, as it was. It was referenced only to the Playhouse site. Under WP:V and WP:RS, that isn't enough. RS stands for reliable independent sources. Not own sites, blogs, forums, wikis (including us), the stage manager's brother's eldest daughter's page on Wordpress, Facebook etc, YouTube etc, AboutUs etc, etc etc. The Times - yes. The Much Twittering in the Bushes Times, Echo and Citizen (circulation 1053) - no. A Kent county circulated paper, probably. Not my part of the country, although I've been there a bit recently, so I can't quote good and bad real life papers. I've talked about the Playhouse. I can't find the Lindleys. If you could remember to sign in, it would help. (OK - I could go through my back catalogue, but it might take hours. I'm one of the axe-men here. although I do my best to save things or explain why they can't be.) What you need to do is read WP:GROUP and WP:GNG. Both about notability. Find things that could get you through one or t'other. Then look for references that pass (or might pass - we can be a bit flexible except with copyright and spam) and let me know what you've got. Or ask User:MelanieN or User:Yopienso (who aren't admins - yet) or User:JohnCD (who is, and, like the other two, is fair-minded and helpful). I'm not into theatricals particularly myself (although I have enjoyed seeing some of my little plays performed), but I am trying to help you both to understand where we're at, and how to fit with it. Mirror Media

Hey Peridon, I hope your week is going well. Early this afternoon you deleted the page I created for my company Mirror media. Upon submission it was flagged by another Wikipedia user as being somewhat overtly promotional. Following the procedure, we in turn replied to that user explaining our stance. Shortly hereafter you deleted our page entirely. We are a start-up company and therefore brand new to this specific space so this was our first stab at having a Wikipedia page. Could you provide us some feedback as to why you deleted it or what we can do in a next go around so that our story can be shared on Wikipedia moving forward? First, two bits of protocol in one. I nearly missed your post because you didn't do what it says at the top - "Please add messages at the bottom of the page so I can find them. Thanks. Do put a heading inside == == and sign with ~~~~." Second - please read WP:COI - conflict of interest. It isn't forbidden to write about you and yours, but it is not recommended. This is an encyclopaedia, not a directory, Facebook or AboutUs. We require articles to be written in compliance with WP:NPOV (neutral point of view(, and to be referenced with reliable independent sources WP:RS. I didn't go through right the list (because I'm supposed to be somewhere else...), but what I saw didn't look to be particularly great. That's not the reason for deletion - this time. It was the promo wording and the 'How To' bit. You commented on the talk page about other companies' articles - you show us any that are promotional and we'll deal with them. They are in the main not written by the company, but by outsiders, and you must remember that anyone may edit (unless they're blocked or banned, or in North Korea or don't have internet...). You don't own an article. Even if you wrote it. We sometimes get company people adding loads of promo - we revert to a sound version. Got to go. Have a read and a thing - do you meet WP:WEB with RS to prove it? Can you escape your enthusiasm and be fish on slab cool in your writing? (I find it hard...) This individual's page serves as an educational piece that provides historic background to a relevant community official.

Please see WP:POLITICIAN. Even if he were elected, being on a city council is not regarded here as notable. Being a candidate for anything less than POTUS (and possibly not all even of them - I don't know how many minor no-hopers there on the ballot) does not confer notability. A candidate does not gain notability from campaign coverage. I would not undelete anyway as it was deleted for being promotional. Wikipedia is not for advertising, whether it be charitable, commercial, religious or political. I would stress here that I an neither Republican nor Democrat, not being a citizen or resident of the USA, and regard myself as apolitical in terms of party politics. As I said, city council is not notable and nor is candidature. Any article would have to be based on outside notability (which would need referencing with WP:RS reliable independent sources, and the article would have to avoid any campaign spiel and be written totally neutrally. Thanks for your note. I agree with you wholeheartedly, except here are the points made on the WP:POLITICIAN page: "Major local political figures who have received significant press coverage" - This gentleman has significant press coverage as well as from independent, reliable sources. These reliable, independent sources (mostly press) have been listed as sources on the page. Therefore, I request that the article be undeleted.

As, in my opinion as an administrator, the article is promotional (the prime reason for deletion), I an disinclined to undelete. On the notability side, none of the references (insofar as I can see) are of value. They either do not even mention the subject, or are not independent of the subject. A campaign website cannot support notability, nor can company or LinkedIn profiles. As to the linked press articles, ones by the subject are discounted immediately, as are 'letters to the editor', these obviously being written by supporters. Brief mentions are all I could see in the others. Being listed or given a brief name check is not coverage in any sort of depth. Sorry, nothing there comes up to RS. All they do is show he exists, is a candidate, and is supported by at least two households. You are welcome to take the case to WP:DRV (deletion review). I think about four of my deletions have been at DRV, of which three were upheld and the fourth deleted again after an Articles for Deletion discussion. (Figures may be one or two out - I can't remember when the last was, even.) I might lose this time. Doesn't worry me. As I said to someone the other day, I am Perry-don not Perry Mason. Mirror Media Submissions

Good afternoon Peridon, I understand now your grounds for deleting my original submissions. This was my first stab at creating content on Wikipedia and now have a better understanding of why my content was flagged and subsequently discarded. It is my intention to produce a new version of the page here shortly that does not violate codes A7 and G11. If you would please continue to help us by checking it over and pushing it live we would appreciate it. We are a start-up company and new to this specific space so we are just getting our feet wet with the specific technology and nuances on this site. OK - but it really shouldn't be there either. Look at WP:FAKEARTICLE which explains about that. You can put things about yourself on your userpage, and userboxes etc. See my page for a somewhat eccentric example. You can mention that you've got a micronation, but don't put an article sort of thing. To put a page in your userspace (for creating a more useful article...) just type in [[User:MicronationKing/whateveritscalled]] on any 'Edit' page, click 'Preview' and then click the red link. Then go back to the edit page and exit it without saving. Then save your new page with a few words on it. Do remember that there is a horde of patrollers who look at new edits, or search for words like 'solutions' or 'passion' (key words in a lot of advertising), or things like that. They also check user space. Some even use the random article button - and one found the longest running hoax article that way. (It was so obscure that no-one would have looked the title up anyway. We discussed it and deleted it.) With four million articles to look after (plus all the behind the scenes stuff), there's bound to be some things that slip through. No, don't get ideas. We're better at spotting things than they were six years ago. If you want to get into editing, have a talk with the people at the Teahouse WP:TEAHOUSE. Very helpful. (We have some strangely named things - there's even a guideline called WP:DUCK or WP:QUACK.) Enough for now. I was out early this morning. Yesterday morning.
