License tagging for Image:TSZX Club Jp2.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:TSZX Club Jp2.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 05:07, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Image tagging for Image:TSZX.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:TSZX.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:TSZX SFlower Jp1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:TSZX SFlower Jp1.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 02:19, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Whether he has approved or not, you can't use chunks of text from outside Wikipedia unless they are licensed under Creative Commons CC-BY-SA 3.0, or are public domain (which usually means old stuff where the author died over 70 years ago). Wikipedia is licensed under that thing, and that means any text here is up for use anywhere by anyone so long as they acknowledge by a URL or note. Jim's text is not likely to be licensed. Get rid of any text that's straight from his site. OK, not things like 'Jim McHugh', but anything else that's even a close paraphrase. Then, read WP:NPOV. Neutral Point of View. Lose the peacock wording. 'Critically acclaimed'? By whom? Prove it. 'Renowned'? Where? Prove it. Etc. Etc. Lose anything that looks the remotest bit promo. Refs. Gallery profiles don't show notability - they are often artist supplied. We don't know which are, so we distrust the lot. The LAT one is OK. Go for more like that. Reliable and independent - see WP:RS. (If I had a parrot, I'd train it to say that to people. If this weren't the internet, I'd make up a rubber stamp.) Right, that's your homework set. I've headed the sandbox with a keep off warning - but it won't prevent trouble if there's any copyright stuff there. When you're ready for marking, let me know.
