Knowledge of the English Language
I can not stand it when someone who is not a native speaker of the English Language tells me that I am wrong, I am a licensed amateur Radio operator AKA HAM and a licensed radio & TV station Engineer, I see no need to list every radio, transmitter, receiver, transceiver I have ever owned and or operated in my life, unlike some tossers who have to list every thing under the sun 🌞 in a category. Question from RexPflueger (17:34, 30 August 2024)
I made two Wiki accounts. I think I know the answer to this question, but do you know if there is any way to delete a Wiki account? --RexPflueger (talk) 17:34, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hi RexPflueger, It is not usually possible, but an account that is not wanted can be blocked indefinitely. What is the unwanted account? (don't use it to make any edits if possible). Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 05:43, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
- It’s this account that I am currently using. 2600:100A:B113:37F9:A98F:2613:CC73:4571 (talk) 12:54, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
- RexPflueger, please make the block request while signed in to the relevant account, as that is the necessary proof that the account holder is the one requesting the block. · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 13:56, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
- Okay. Can you explain how I would request the block on my other account? Is there anything that explains step by step how to do that? Also I would still like to try and make a wiki page for my friend. Since I already submitted a draft, could I submit the same one on my other account? RexPflueger (talk) 18:17, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
- If you want the account User:RexPflueger to be blocked, you must make the request while logged in as RexPflueger, since that proves that you are requesting a block of your own account, which is straightforward. If you request the block from another account, it starts getting complicated as we do not know for certain that you actually own the two accounts without an investigation which would invade your privacy to some extent, a thing we avoid if possible. If you want to continue working on the same draft, you can copy it to a page in the Draft namespace, or a subpage of your other account. Since you appear to not be the real Rex Pflueger, it would be better not to try to use his name as you will probably be blocked for impersonation. We do not allow account names that suggest that you are another specific real person. I could block the account User:RexPflueger for that reason alone, but that would be a relatively unfriendly procedure. All you need to do is, while logged in as User:RexPflueger, make an entry here or on any other admin's page, or on a range of other relevant administrative noticeboards, to say that you would like your account to be blocked. As I am already aware of your backstory, I will not need to investigate further. If you do not know how move the draft to your user space, I can do that too on request. Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 08:11, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for clarifying. Yes I would like to request that this account be blacked and if you could move the draft into the user space that would be great. RexPflueger (talk) 00:15, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
- User:RexPflueger has been indefinitely blocked per your request. I can move User:RexPflueger/sandbox into you new account user space if you let me know what your new username is. (you will have to make the request from the new username). · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 05:03, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
- Great! How do I go about making the request from the new user? 2600:1702:4C0:5910:9F7:5FC5:B983:EBF3 (talk) 00:06, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- It has been done. Good luck with getting the article accepted. Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 02:01, 3 September 2024 (UTC)

Question from RexPflueger (17:32, 30 August 2024)
Hi my name is Basia and I am attempting to make a Wiki page for my friend. --RexPflueger (talk) 17:32, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
- I assume that you are trying to write a Wikipedia article about your friend. This can be done, but you should declare a possible conflict of interest, and make sure that everything you write about them is supported by a reliable source, as there will be people who will claim that you have a conflict of interest even if you don't, and it is far better to keep the connection in the open. Ensure that your friend qualifies as a notable topic, or the article will not survive. · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 05:58, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hi! Are you able to move my draft into the user space? Basiac13 (talk) 00:15, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, it is now at User:Basiac13/sandbox. I have made a few edits to better align article structure and layout with the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 01:58, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- Do you know how to go about putting a picture on the page without getting in trouble. How would I get permission to use a picture? I don't know where to start. Basiac13 (talk) 20:30, 3 September 2024 (UTC)

Question from Staceyrich (18:54, 3 September 2024)
Hello!
I'm looking to publish my first article and was hoping you could proofread it and provide feedback? Or if that isn't something you can do, can you direct me to someone who can? Thank you! --Staceyrich (talk) 18:54, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- Anyone can do that. More importantly, is will the feedback will be useful. Give me the link and I will have a look. Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 05:12, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- I see that it is not yet anywhere on Wikipedia. The usual procedure is to publish an article either as a sub-article in your User space, or in Draft space. User space is more under your personal control, and draft space is where you would put it for more general exposure to proofreading, feedback, and copyediting. Have you read Help:Your first article? Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 05:22, 4 September 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Etelis coruscans
A tag has been placed on Etelis coruscans requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a recently created redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer, or other unlikely search term.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Question from Ula123BD (18:36, 24 September 2024)
hi! im a kid from BD. i want to create an article for my father, who is a famous actor. well, im having trouble finding much citation websites and stuff. please response, thank you whoever you are, though. --Ula123BD (talk) 18:36, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
- It is very difficult to write a neutral article on a member of your family, so we strongly recommend that you don't try to do that, as it is considered a conflict of interests. Secondly, the requirement for reliable references for establishing notability of living people is very important, and the article would be deleted if there are none. A famous actor will be mentioned in newspapers and magazines. Such references do not have to be available on the internet, but they must be possible for our editors to find and check, and it is the responsibility of the person writing about the subject of an article to ensure that the sources are cited. Please read the guidance on Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons, and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest for details · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 04:32, 25 September 2024 (UTC)

Question from Ronak9119 (11:32, 22 October 2024)
Hey I need to post my company details how can i do that? --Ronak9119 (talk) 11:32, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Ronak9119. If there is already an article on your company on Wikipedia, provide the information on the article's talk page and request an editor to add it to the article. Also provide a link to a site where we can verify the information. If there is no article, you can request an article for creation, and provide reliable third party sources sufficient to establish WP:Notability of the company.· · · Peter Southwood (talk): 16:11, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
Invitation to participate in a research
Hello,
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,

Question from PattipatsyPatrick (02:26, 29 October 2024)
I was searching on ancestry for information about ancestors and I was directed to this site and now I’m having trouble not falling into a pattern of compulsively researching --PattipatsyPatrick (talk) 02:26, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- This is not a question, and it is not clear why you think I need to know this. · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 02:29, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
