2019 Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress crash
Hi,
I see you revdel'ed 2019 Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress crash. I was in the middle of reviewing that and believe this is not a copyvio. The text in question closely follows the text of the NTSB report and so would fall under public domain. The text is cited to this site which includes a link to the NTSB report. If you download the report and check the section titled "Probable Cause and Findings", you will see what I mean. Please review and let me know your opinion. Cheers! Whpq (talk) 15:14, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Whpq I thought they were quoting some blog as I didn't see the content in the NTSB report, until i've looked again and found the conclusion in the middle, rather than the end, where I was expecting it. Revision restored. Nthep (talk) 15:27, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks! Whpq (talk) 19:05, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
- This was my error, I was working through Copypatrol while tired and not paying enough attention. Thanks for catching that. —Compassionate727 (T·C) 21:21, 22 August 2024 (UTC)

The beast has been slain. I am also retiring from the project until my mental health stabilizes once and for all. Even if it does, I think me contributing here is a net negative for my life. Thank you for everything you have done Dancherek,Whpq, {Wizardman and everyone else. Scorpions1325 (talk) 03:22, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Scorpions1325 congratulations and thank you for your Hurculean efforts in tracking these down. Also, thank you, for enabling my now increased knowledge of moths. Nthep (talk) 09:20, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
copyvio-revdel
Hi Nthep,
Regarding your revdel at Harry Belafonte, I think it's an over-reaction. The content appears to be a few-line excerpt rather than the majority or entirety of the song. It was cited, and and in the original addition and for the seeming majority of the time/revisions it existed, it was in support of prose-commentary. Once the prose-commentary had been deleted (apparently an editorial decision) the lyrics obviously needed to go. But I still think that's all within normal editing bounds. Given how many revisions and editors were involved in the interleaving time, I think it heads into being more disruptive for a relatively small infringement. DMacks (talk) 16:48, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
- @DMacks I suppose it does fall within fair-use limits. I'll put them back. Nthep (talk) 16:58, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks! DMacks (talk) 21:24, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
