Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Balochistan Rural Support Programme, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Board (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Help: Sortable Table

[edit]

I want help, that how can i make the section of "Notes" in the table of this article: List of tallest residential buildings in the world as unsortable while keeping other sections as sortable ?

Nabil rais2008 (talk) 19:27, 10 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Just add class="unsortable" in front of it, so it looks like this: ! class="unsortable" | Notes RobinHood70 talk 11:20, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot it really worked.... Nabil rais2008 (talk) 11:34, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated article List of tallest residential buildings in the world for a featured list, however more than 20 days had past, while nobody have either "Supported" or "Opposed" the article except some comments which i have addressed accordingly. I want help regarding if i can convey messages to the contributors of this article to make a neutral comment on this article whether to "Support" or "Oppose" so that it can reach a consensus or the list may be withdrawn from featured list candidate ? Please make me clear if it doesn't fall in WP:CANVASSING ?

  • I suggest simply being patient at this point... It can take months for a page to go through these nominations. I'm assuming there is just a backlog in the FL nominations as there is on many other projects throughout Wikipedia. Happy editing! Technical 13 (talk) 17:35, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Pearls of Arabia requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 11:19, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

New deal for page patrollers

[edit]

Hi Nabil rais2008,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ridda Wars

[edit]

Hi, I am chasing a source for an old entry on the Ridda Wars article (now removed), section on campaign of apostasy. Do you by any chance know the original source? This is the section:

Apart from their specific objectives, the corps commanders were given the following instructions:

	+
	+

a. Seek the tribes which are your objectives

	+

b. Call the Azaan.

	+

c. If the tribe answers with the Azaan, do not attack. After the Azaan, ask the tribe to confirm its submission, including the payment of taxes. If confirmed, do not attack.

	+

d. Those who submit will not be molested.

	+

e. Those who do not answer with the Azaan, or after the Azaan do not confirm full submission, will be dealt with by fire and sword.

	+

f. All apostates who have killed Muslims will be killed, those who have burnt Muslims alive will be burnt alive.

	+
	+

With these instructions Abu Bakr launched the forces of Islam against the apostates.

File permission problem with File:Balochistan Rural Support Programme logo.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Balochistan Rural Support Programme logo.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or

You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

Looking for Citation for Climate of Pakistan claim

[edit]

Hi! More than ten years ago, you added a statement to the page Climate of Pakistan, that says "In 1993, Monsoon rains causes floods which killed 3,084 people."[1] I was hoping you'd be able to link me to your reference for that information. Because this claim is on the page Climate in Pakistan, as written it implies to me that these deaths occurred in Pakistan. The references I have been able to find for the 1993 Monsoon rain floods state that only fifteen of the deaths due to this monsoon were in Pakistan - the vast majority occurred in Nepal and India[2], so I'm going to be adjusting the text for now, but I'd love to see a more specific reference.
