A tag has been placed on Draft:NSM Public School, Vijayawada, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. You have an obvious conflict of interest and you must declare it. If you work directly or indirectly for an organisation, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. If you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at Mr Nerd 96. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Mr Nerd 96|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message. Also read the following regarding writing an article:

  • you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the organisation or company, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, logs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the company or organisation claims or interviewing its management. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls
  • Much of your text is unreferenced
  • You don't tell us how many students or staff there are
  • You must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews.
  • Such as the school that was to make a name for itself.
  • There shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • You must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

Request reason:

Respected sir/mam i have not received any monetary benifits for editing NSM Public School, Vijayawada or any other pages, I joined wikipedia to contribute something to the world from my side, at first I didnt know how to edit articles, later on I learnt the rules and am still learning, i created pages which I thought should be on wikipedia, Regarding the page of NSM Public School, I studied in that school almost 15 years back and now I am not anyway related to the school and I personally think that doesn't belong to Conflict of interest, regarding other pages like Bandi Saroj Kumar and Rakesh Varre, I watched their movies and liked their performances and wanted to know more information about them and came to wikipedia, unfortunately I found no information, so I thought it would be helpful for other persons like me who are searching info for these people and created pages for them. I hereby confirm that I have not received any monetary benefits from any of the pages I edited.Mr Nerd 96 (talk) 01:27, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I don't know if you are a paid editor or not, but your editing is such that it certainly appears that you are or that you have some conflict of interest. Even accepting your word that you don't, you don't yet know enough about Wikipedia to write a new article that meets the most basic requirements for style and sourcing, so you won't be unblocked to create new articles. We'll need to know what edits you intend to make instead. 331dot (talk) 07:34, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements. I understood now that i have been blocked for creating pages with conflict of intrest like being a fan to an actor or supporting the school i studied as they resembled paid editing, i have realised my mistake and will not repeat the same, i have contributed to many other wiki articles with significant importance and will improve edits with neutral opinion. I would avoid these kind of editing in future but if this kind of situation comes again I would disclose conflict of interest by adding relevant COI templates in it.I also ask the reviewer to tell me my mistakes if i missed any and requesting to lift the block. Request reason:

Respected sir/madam,

I have read and understand the Terms of Use and the paid editing disclosure requirements. I understand that I have been blocked for creating pages that appeared to have a conflict of interest, such as pages about actors I admire or the school I attended. I recognize that these actions might have resembled paid editing or undisclosed advocacy, even though I did not receive any monetary benefits for these edits.

I acknowledge my mistakes and am committed to not repeating them. Moving forward, I will avoid editing topics where I might have a personal interest, or if I do, I will disclose any potential conflicts of interest by using the relevant COI templates.

In my future contributions, I will focus on improving existing articles rather than creating new ones, ensuring that all my edits adhere strictly to Wikipedia’s guidelines for style and sourcing. I am keen to make useful, constructive contributions to Wikipedia and am eager to learn from any feedback provided by administrators.

If there are any specific mistakes I made that I have not yet addressed, I would appreciate guidance on those so that I can fully understand and correct my approach.

I have also read the blocking policy and this block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption.

Thank you for considering my request. I assure you that my intentions are to contribute positively and responsibly to the Wikipedia community.

Sincerely,

Mr Nerd 96 Mr Nerd 96 (talk) 09:29, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Rakesh Varre

[edit]

Hello Mr Nerd 96, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Rakesh Varre, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rakesh Varre (2nd nomination).

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Dclemens1971}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

5th Request to unblock

[edit]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Mr Nerd 96 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I understand that I have been blocked due to Undisclosed paid editing in violation of the WMF Terms of Use, ignored COI disclosure requests and continued editing NSM Public School, Vijayawada, in addition to potentially UPE-edits at Bandi Saroj Kumar, Rakesh Varre. I have realised my mistake Sir/Mam its been very long time i am waiting for my block request to be reviewed. It's almost 4 months and every time I post the unblock request it is going stale as it's not reviewed for more than 1 month and declining request as procedural decline only, please review the block and unblock me if you believe i understood wikipedia policies and will not do the mistake in future I would like to edit wikipedia on topics related to Vijayawada, Indian cinema, Tollywood, Physiology, Science and topics related to Medicine which i believe have sound knowledge on and will not edit the topics i have been blocked for. I do believe this block is no more necessary as I would not disrupt wikipedia integrity in future Mr Nerd 96 (talk) 4:27 am, 21 September 2024, Saturday (2 months, 27 days ago) (UTC−8)

Accept reason:

It appears to me that the below discussion was trending toward an unblock, but it just kind of fizzled out. This is not entirely surprising as requests for unblock are regularly badly backlogged and it's hard to keep tabs on every one of them, but I think it is past time for a second chance here. Please do heed the advice you've been given, and welcome back. El Beeblerino if you're not into the whole brevity thing 18:59, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, this is getting better. We're at least no longer talking to an AI. Can you please read WP:COI, especially WP:PAY, another time? You acknowledge that your edits have been problematic but "potentially UPE" doesn't tell us anything. Was this undisclosed paid editing? What is your relationship to these topics? -- asilvering (talk) 01:56, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@El Beeblerino Thank you for unblocking me, means a lot. I will follow the advice given. Mr Nerd 96 (talk) 02:05, 18 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Asilvering: Thank you for the response, I have read WP:COI and WP:PAY again and here is my explanation. I understand that my edits do look like potential UPE but in reality I do have COI which I don't know that I have to mention at that time, here is the relation between those articles and me

1.NSM Public School, Vijayawada: I studied in this school and thought that it would be nice if my school had a Wikipedia page

2.Bandi Saroj Kumar: He is an actor and director from tollywood, I liked his movies and when I searched him on wiki in didn't find info so I thought of creating a page for him and my judgement was wrong here, even though I read the rules for creating a page for a person like if he is an actor how many movies he should make like that and he cleared most of these rules but may be I liked his movies more that's why I invested a lot of time for creating a page for him out of pure fandom. Which i realised now is a big mistake because in wiki we should always be in a neutral point of view, and i should have mentioned COI for the article.

3.Rakesh Varre: He is a character artist also from tollywood, me being a movie freak watches lots of movies so while I was searching for a famous movie named bahubali I saw cast names and all of them have blue links except this person, then i thought he is a good artist why not create a page for him and went on creating one for him, i actually learnt creating pages in this process. I don't know at that time I must mention COI and more over it looks like a potential UPE, my bad. Mr Nerd 96 (talk) 02:38, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Rosguill: Sir/Mam its been very long time i am waiting for my block request to be reviewed. Since nobody is helping me out I am pinging you as block log shows your name. Hi there, Mr Nerd 96! Can you provide some examples of edits you would like to make if you were to be unblocked? Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 23:02, 1 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sure mam, here are the following examples I would like to make if unblocked:
1) correct any spelling mistakes if I came across them on wikipedia.
2) correct any factual errors with proper references to actual if I came across them.
3) topics i think I know are medicine, physiology, Indian cinemas, etc Mr Nerd 96 (talk) 02:43, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Significa liberdade: what do you think? -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 18:41, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This is sounding much better to me. Rosguill, what are your thoughts? Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 18:56, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I do think we're on the path to an unblock, but I do want to note some concerns
  • It seems like Mr Nerd 96 is over-apologizing and claiming to have done COI/UPE even in cases where it actually doesn't appear to apply. Being a fan of an actor doesn't normally cause a COI--the concern was the edits made appeared promotional; the appropriate course of action would have been to explain how/why you made the edits to Rakesh Varre, etc. The only example of editing that appears to have actually been a case of COI was the editing of the NSM Public School. I would want to see a clearer indication of having understood the relevant guidelines.
  • This isn't an obstacle to being unblocked at this time, but I would recommend not prioritizing spelling-correction or other copyediting work based on the level of English proficiency demonstrated here. The commitment to fixing referencing, factual errors, or contributing to topics like physiology, medicine, and Indian cinema seem like better areas of work to focus on (although be mindful of WP:MEDRS, medicine is one of the trickier topics to edit).

Replying to Rosguill
Sir/mam,
Rakesh varre is a notable actor according to WP:NACTOR, he has 11 movies on wiki which mentioned his name in cast section, you can check here Draft:Rakesh Varre all the movie are listed in filmography click on individual film and check, He even had multiple individual references. These all made me believe that he is eligible for an article on wikipedia.
Regarding NSM Public School, It was my first article at that time I didn't knew the rules so I went on copy pasting from the primary source, so many violations happened like copy right violation, not in a neutral tone, promotional,COI etc, I tried to correct most of my mistakes when I got to know about them, but to be frank it's a mistake because I must go through all the guidelines before creating a page.
Thank you for the suggestions, I would try to follow them. Mr Nerd 96 (talk) 19:59, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
