Speedy deletion nomination of Category:21st-century Bangladeshi painters
A tag has been placed on Category:21st-century Bangladeshi painters requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Closing CFD
Thanks for helping out by closing this CFD discussion.
After closing CFDs as keep/ no consensus/ withdrawn, please remove the CFD banner from the category page. It's also helpful to post a link to the discussion on the talk page, in case the category comes up for discussion again; there is a template to help with that, e.g. [1].
As we have such a backlog at CFD, all help is very welcome. The fullest notes on how to help are at WP:CFDAI. – Fayenatic London 09:48, 13 July 2018 (UTC)

Sources for biography
Hello I am Mary, writing for the Wiki account "DehoniansUSA." I have been trying to get an English version of a biography of Heiner Wilmer published on Wikipedia. It is primarily an English translation of the German Wikipedia page on him. Twice (most recently by you) it has been rejected because it does not have reliable sources. In your personal note you state that the sources are mostly works by the subject. I did list several of the books that Heiner Wilmer published, but not as sources in regards to who he is as the superior general of the Priests of the Sacred Heart. For that I cited two of the websites associated with the Priests of the Sacred Heart but also an independent article written about Heiner Wilmer in German; this is the first footnote listed under references. I put the author's name in the front of the footnote to clarify that it was by another author. Here is the link to the profile: https://www.herder-korrespondenz.de/heftarchiv/69-jahrgang-2015/heft-9-2015/portraet-heiner-wilmer-glaubenssuche-und-politischer-einsatz
I added the references from the German Wikipedia page to the English. Will this meet the citation standard? The German page: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heiner_Wilmer
Any advice would be welcome. Thank you!!— Preceding unsigned comment added by DehoniansUSA (talk • contribs) September 28, 2017 (UTC)

New edit submitted
Good morning Mr. Guye: I have submitted an edited version of the Chapin Hall Wikipedia page where I eliminated language/ modifiers that seemed promotional. Would you mind taking another look and letting me know what you think?
Thank you.

Civility re: Microaggression
Hi there. You recently chided me for "uncivility" in the discussion on Microaggression. I was not rude; I didn't engage in any personal attacks; I didn't belittle another editor personally; and while I cast an accusation of impropriety, it wasn't inappropriate. I do my best to assume good faith, but the other user's edits are readily apparent, as are their discussion on the Talk page, and it is clear from those that the user is using Wikipedia to push a political agenda, rather than to improve the project. It's not inappropriate to call attention to that, and going after me for being "uncivil" for pointing out another user's bad faith comes uncomfortably close to tone policing. Rcats
Just a gentle reminder in regard to redirects like this, rcats like R from misspelling should never be used to tag soft redirects. Thank you for your work with redirects! Paine Ellsworth put'r there 18:52, 25 July 2018 (UTC)
- @Paine Ellsworth: Thank you for assuming good faith. Though I still have a question: why? Why can't you add redirect categories to soft redirects? — Mr. Guye (talk) (contribs) 19:09, 25 July 2018 (UTC)
- It's my pleasure! AGF goes without saying because I am always grateful for editors who work with redirects. My information is that the only rcat that can be used on soft redirects at present is {{Wikidata redirect}}, which does not use {{Redirect template}} as a meta. It is the Redirect template that can cause unexpected results if used on soft redirects, and all the other rcats use it as a meta-template. Thanks again! It's definitely too long. There is on going discussion about what qualifies as RS in a bomb and slower work being done about actually condensing. Your help in that matter would be most welcome (I'm actively condensing a related article List of box office bombs (2010s). Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 05:31, 26 July 2018 (UTC)
Why?
Why did you blank the user page of Hafspajen? We keep the talk of those who died, why not of a user who is still loved and missed, and whose images appear frequently on the main page, so readers may want to know about who created them. ?? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 05:59, 26 July 2018 (UTC)
- @Gerda Arendt: I removed a lot and added {{Inactive userpage blanked}}. I guess maybe I shouldn't have blanked such a high-profile user's talk page, but the vast majority of Wikipedia's longest pages are these user talk pages that are never archived. I'll reverse the blanking on this one I guess, but still. — Mr. Guye (talk) (contribs) 06:04, 26 July 2018 (UTC)

Review Draft
Hi Usser:Mr Guye can you kindly review this draft Draft:Mangamu Primary School Joseph Kalimbwe (talk) 09:22, 26 July 2018 (UTC)
Thanks
Thanks for the message regarding my creating "We Believe (song)" which is a very worthy contemporary hymn. I have also created pages for similarly worthy modern hymns like "10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)", "Blessed Be Your Name (song)", "Clear the Stage", "In Christ Alone", "Jesus Is a Soul Man", "Lord, I Lift Your Name on High", "Mighty to Save (song)", "My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less", "Where I Belong (Building 429 song)", "I Love to Tell the Story" and I have edited importantly to List of contemporary worship songs, Elevation Worship, Hillsong Worship and Christian singers and songwriters like Anthony Evans (singer), Rick Founds, Jason Gray (musician), Matt Redman. Although I have launched hundreds of pages for songs and albums in various genres, the Christian hymns are always something special that I enjoy the most as they give me great satisfaction and uplift my soul while I am working on them. The starting point would be listening to a hymn, then discovering no page exists for it on Wikipedia. Then I wonder why we didn't have pages for these songs earlier in Wikipedia, as these are just fantastic and sometimes very successful songs with awards. It just astounds me not to find pages for such songs despite all the expertise Wikipedia and its editors have. And yes "We Believe" is a huge song at all levels, musically, lyrcally, in performances and in impact. By the way, I didn't even know about the song yesterday, then I get to hear a version by the songwriter himself Travis Ryan (musician). It swept me like the storm and I listened to tens of versions while searching for data and information from available sources. Many thanks to you as well. If you could suggest from your own side other worthwhile phenomenal Christian tunes and hymns not covered presently by Wikipedia, suggest them here to me and I'll try my best if I see the song is notable and more importantly effects my soul. It would be a great pleasure. By the way if you could review the page and add other sources, it would be great and appreciated. werldwayd (talk) 20:12, 26 July 2018 (UTC)

NPR Newsletter No.12 30 July 2018
|
Hello Mr. Guye, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!
- June backlog drive
Overall the June backlog drive was a success, reducing the last 3,000 or so to below 500. However, as expected, 90% of the patrolling was done by less than 10% of reviewers.
Since the drive closed, the backlog has begun to rise sharply again and is back up to nearly 1,400 already. Please help reduce this total and keep it from raising further by reviewing some articles each day.
- New technology, new rules
- New features are shortly going to be added to the Special:NewPagesFeed which include a list of drafts for review, OTRS flags for COPYVIO, and more granular filter preferences. More details can be found at this page.
- Probationary permissions: Now that PERM has been configured to allow expiry dates to all minor user rights, new NPR flag holders may sometimes be limited in the first instance to 6 months during which their work will be assessed for both quality and quantity of their reviews. This will allow admins to accord the right in borderline cases rather than make a flat out rejection.
- Current reviewers who have had the flag for longer than 6 months but have not used the permissions since they were granted will have the flag removed, but may still request to have it granted again in the future, subject to the same probationary period, if they wish to become an active reviewer.
- Editathons
- Editathons will continue through August. Please be gentle with new pages that obviously come from good faith participants, especially articles from developing economies and ones about female subjects. Consider using the 'move to draft' tool rather than bluntly tagging articles that may have potential but which cannot yet reside in mainspace.
- The Signpost
- The next issue of the monthly magazine will be out soon. The newspaper is an excellent way to stay up to date with news and new developments between our newsletters. If you have special messages to be published, or if you would like to submit an article (one about NPR perhaps?), don't hesitate to contact the editorial team here.

Please let me understand why we keep the user pages of users who died, and of some some banned, but not an inactive one? If I - as a reader - want to know what kind of user wrote some Good article, I find it inconvenient to have to go to the history. - As an editor, can I request somewhere that it won't happen to me in case I get inactive? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:18, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
- There is no purpose for blanking the userpage of retired editors. Natureium (talk) 20:21, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
- If I were you, Gerda, I'd add a instruction sub page or comment in the markup of your page to that effect. It won't happen, of course, since you're banned from ever leaving Wikipedia ;-) Nick (talk) 20:23, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
- +1 - I've never been Coffee's best fan but even I can agree the blanking is not only disruptive but pointless...... Please stop. –Davey2010Talk 20:24, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
- You're flying dangerously close to disrupting the encyclopedia in order to make a point. [2] [3]. Perhaps, just leave retired wikipedians userpages be? SQLQuery me! 21:21, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
- @SQL: What!? Not only
iswere my edits not disruptive, but those two edits were per consensus. — Mr. Guye (talk) (contribs) 21:37, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
- In what universe was what you did "by consensus"? CHRISSYMAD ❯❯❯¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 21:45, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Chrissymad: I was told that tagging the main user page of an inactive user with {{Inactive userpage blanked}} was improper use of the template. So I clarified the template documentation to say that, and reverted someone else who made my same mistake. — Mr. Guye (talk) (contribs) 21:51, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
- No, after being asked to stop, you nominated the template for deletion. Then when TonyBallioni closed the deletion discussion unfavorably, you modified the template documentation, and removed the template from an editor's page that had been there for years. It doesn't get much WP:POINTy than that. My advice would be to drop the stick, and let it go. SQLQuery me! 22:02, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) @SQL: I was mostly referring to the last two edits. And I'm not sure you were aware of the discussion I had on TonyBalloni's page, where he clarified the purpose of the template. So then I changed the documentation based on his clarification and reverted edits that were not what I was told it was for. — Mr. Guye (talk) (contribs) 22:13, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
- I'm still waiting for you to explain WHY you were tagging pages anyway. Did you log in tonight and decide 'I know, I'll look for users who have left Wikipedia, and I'll find a template to put on their userpage, and then I'll go around blanking their userpages and adding this new template I've just found, because this will be SOOOO useful for the project' ? Nick (talk) 22:10, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Nick: Not exactly like that. Honestly I remembered the template and (foolishly?) believed that if it has remained for so long, then it was not against policy. — Mr. Guye (talk) (contribs) 22:20, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
- @SQL: What!? Not only
If you have the time and energy, I'm sure there are other areas of the project that could use the effort, as opposed to messing around with other people's user pages. Just sayin'... - theWOLFchild 00:41, 3 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Thewolfchild: Do you honestly think that all of my contributions to Wikipedia, including the edits I've made in between my response to Nick and your comment here, were made solely on other people's userpages? — Mr. Guye (talk) (contribs) 01:02, 3 August 2018 (UTC)
- Do you honestly see anything in my comment that even remotely states I think that? - theWOLFchild 01:14, 3 August 2018 (UTC)

- Omigawwwd... if you are aware an area of the project that use some help, then how about you take all the energy you're using to try and start a dispute here and put it into actually helping out there... mm'kay? I was just chiming in with ALL the many, many other editors here that were advising you to leave user pages alone, that's all. I'm not doing this dance with you. We're done here. Secondly, I couldn't find a way to contest your deletion tag. And I would like to get some help on it. I'd also like to know which parts of the text did you see violating G11?
I have seen your history of reckless deletion tagging, and I would kindly invite you to reconsider the basis that you tag these pages for speedies. DavorPetreski (talk) 11:21, 7 August 2018 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Shamma Hamdan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. reddogsix (talk) 05:02, 14 August 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Pmsltech
Hello Mr. Guye,
You have deleted my page that i have recently created on wiki. But I believe I had never used promotional word or any wrong information for the company.
I don't want to promote through wiki. I know this is encyclopedia. But Still I don't believe why this happened. I have read several company articles in wiki, then I had prepared the post.
Can you please tell me what is the difference between the page I have created and about this company page? https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Bluehost
I have never used keyword spam, never posted link through this article. so can you please review again it.
i know it's hard to publish article through wiki. But why???
why we can't publish company info. We have not that much capable to post simple company information. As you mentioned can you please tell me where link spamming done through this article?
If possible, please have look again on it.
Thank you

- @Dhirenray1985: First of all, I didn't delete it. I just nominated it for deletion. I am not an administrator, so I can't unilaterally delete pages. Second of all, it looks like you got the page restored at User:Dhirenray1985/sandbox. — Mr. Guye (talk) (contribs) 15:04, 7 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Mr. Guye: Can you please assist me to live this article. Still this topic in sandbox. I have removed reference links and added more information about the organization. Dhiren Ray 05:48, 15 August 2018 (UTC)
