Template:Userpage blanked
This userpage has been blanked. If this is your userpage, you can retrieve the contents of this page in the page history. Alternatively, if you would like it deleted, simply replace the content of this page with {{db-u1}}. |
This template is used on approximately 12,000 pages and changes may be widely noticed. Test changes in the template's /sandbox or /testcases subpages, or in your own user subpage. Consider discussing changes on the talk page before implementing them. |
Usage
- Place the template using {{Userpage blanked}}
- When blanking only part of a user page, use {{Userpage blanked|section}}
- To add a reason, fill in the "reason" section: {{Userpage blanked|reason=}}
This template may be used to hide (rather than delete) userpages that are stale drafts. It should only be used on userpages that have not been edited for twelve months or more. This may be preferable to deleting the page, because if the inactive user returns to editing, they can easily retrieve the content from the page's edit history.
Note that "old copies of mainspace articles should be deleted", not blanked, per WP:UP#COPIES to prevent attribution issues.
The template takes one named parameter, "reason", which can be used to specify the reason that the userpage was blanked.
If you wish, you can notify the page creator by using {{subst:uw-staleuserpageblanked|Page blanked}} ~~~~
.
Instructions
Formerly, substituting this template added the __NOINDEX__ magic word to the page being blanked, to stop search engines from indexing the blanked page. Now, however, all pages in the user namespace are NOINDEXed by default.
