Hampshire 4 moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Hampshire 4, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Counties 1 Surrey/Sussex moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Counties 1 Surrey/Sussex. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Waqar💬 14:30, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Morning Waqar. Thanks for your message. As you'll have seen I anticipated this issue in the original editing comment I put on the page. As you'll see from my editing history I am trying to be an ally to community rugby in England, a sport that doesn't get media coverage - there are virtually no sources to validate the existence of leagues except from the governing body themselves, the RFU. I am at a complete loss as to how I can persuade Wikipedia that these these leagues exist and the teams included are participating in them. I can't provide links to BBC Sport or Sky Sport or The Times or The Telegraph, they simply don't exist. This is not malicious content, there is no attempt to spread disinformation, just a genuine fan trying to give a platform to clubs who otherwise have no online presence save for their own club website. You'll note that was a time a couple of years ago when every league in the 'system' section of the English Rugby Union System page was populated with details of teams competing. The RFU changed the league structure at the start of the 2022-23 season and since then the page has dozens of blanks pages. People like me are trying to reinstate the information and fill in the gaps. I can't tell you how frustrating and dispiriting it is to spend hours curating pages, getting maps right, uploading the details of clubs only to seen it all taken down the same day. I hope you can apply some discretion and reinstate the information I uploaded. Thank you. MaxPower2017 (talk) 09:08, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Waqar. Have you had a chance to consider my message above? Thanks in advance MaxPower2017 (talk) 07:33, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
MaxPower2017, if there is no source to verify what you have written on Counties 1 Surrey/Sussex, then it is not notable enough for Wikipedia. Please see Wikipedia:No original research. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 13:44, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Jeraxmoira. Thanks for replying. The same logic could be applied to every community rugby league. As per my longer message above Wikipedia previously supported entries for all local leagues until c.2022 when the league structure changed. What sources do you require? There is a link to the RFU page confirming the existence of the league and the fixtures to be played. What, specifically, is required? Thanks in advance MaxPower2017 (talk) 14:48, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Counties 1 Southern North, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Windsor. For your excellent work in updating and creating English rugby union league articles Bcp67 (talk) 19:29, 9 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you - much appreciated. Trying to backfill the English Rugby Union System page is not a straightforward thing since there is very little coverage of the clubs so finding sources is a painstaking business but I am motivated to try since all the clubs, big or small, deserve to be recognised for their achievements / participation.
One QQ for you - I *think* I have resubmitted a Draft page for KCS Old Boys RFC - I created it a while ago then it was archived and I requested it to come out so I could work on it which I did today but can't tell if it has has now gone off for review or if it is just sat as a a draft. Are you able to see / advise?
Many thanks, MP17 MaxPower2017 (talk) 15:10, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I can see the draft and I think it needs resubmitting - I took a look at WP:AFCREVIEW and there was an instruction there to add the submit for review button to the article. I've done that on your draft and it looks like it has been submitted. Good luck with it this time. Bcp67 (talk) 18:04, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
