Revert on Israel page

Hello there,

It's an historical fact that Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005. The third paragraph is very badly written and unworthy of Wikipedia standards. If you have a specific problem please point it out to me. I do not see any reason why. Please research the topic before you revert. Would you kindly revert your revert?

Editor bug

Sorry for making blank comments on the SPI page. Something is broken somewhere, a bug somewhere. Whenever I edit I get "Invalid server response". I'm aware, sorry for the confusion. AncientWalrus (talk) 10:41, 27 October 2023 (UTC)

@AncientWalrus: No worries, try typing a summary in case it keeps bugging, as I hope to collect evidence so immediate action can be taken against this disruption. Makeandtoss (talk) 10:43, 27 October 2023 (UTC)

I'll try to paste the emails here:

Could you please restore all the lead content deleted by this moron?: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Talk:Gaza_Strip#lead_rewrite
The current lead in article of Gaza Strip is outdated. Please restore all the hundreds of contributions by almost 40 different users before Nableezy's vandalism. Even if it was all added by a sock (which it wasn't), you can restore it with a manual revert, particularly the part saying that until the last war Israel was increasing work permits to Gazans and providing the territory with fuel, food and water, together with the international community which provides billions in aid. Thanks.
Also please vote generally unreliable: https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard&action=edit&section=36
2nd email
Hi. Could you please vote on this garbage?: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Talk:Israel#Request_for_Comment_on_apartheid_charges
For the record, no other country facing allegations of apartheid has this accusation in the article's introduction (see Allegations of apartheid by country). Thanks.
AncientWalrus (talk) 10:48, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
Nice this worked. The subject lines were:
1. Important RFC on Israel's apartheid accusation
2. Outdated Gaza lead and vote on Al Jazeera AncientWalrus (talk) 10:49, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
These emails were from User:Ismuchon for clarity as I copied emails from other users below this might have been unclear. AncientWalrus (talk) 11:19, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
I have also been canvassed by other users in similar ways before but they have all been blocked by the time I checked so I didn't feel the need to report.
This is the first user that wasn't blocked when I checked. And I think the only one that emailed me twice. AncientWalrus (talk) 10:51, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
@AncientWalrus: Thank you, great, I suspected so. I will report it and tag you. In the meantime, could you please help me identify the blocked users who already tried to canvass you? This would be very helpful to identify sockpuppets as well. Makeandtoss (talk) 10:52, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
Sure!

Hi. Could you please restore some criticism to balance this extremely biased and one-sided article?: https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Nakba_denial&diff=1181410485&oldid=1181409086 ... or at least vote to delete this garbage entirely?: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Nakba_denial
Also please pay attention to this vandal removing content which doesn't fit his narrative: https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Gaza_Strip&diff=1181454218&oldid=1181381735

Hi. Could you revert this shitty addition?: https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=United_Nations_Partition_Plan_for_Palestine&diff=1181080021&oldid=1181078831
It's only supported by a very biased source in article (an anti-Israel activist), but mainstream historians like Benny Morris are quoted in article saying otherwise: "The immediate trigger of the 1948 War was the November 1947 UN partition resolution. The Zionist movement, except for its fringes, accepted the proposal".

Please vote in talk page for the article to be deleted or merged. It's just a bunch of hyperbolic accusations by anti-Israel activists which doesn't pass the test for WP:EXCEPTIONAL policy.
On a different note, don't you think this violates WP:DUE and needs better sourcing?: https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Palestinians&diff=prev&oldid=1180555906

They want to remove the attribution (aka allegations). Could you please also remove the parts in article where sources don't mention 'war crimes'? Iskandar323 would do exactly that if it was an article on Palestinian war crimes

@Iskandar323: I'm identifying instances of mass sockpupptery (talking at least 50+), and mass canvassing. Where do we start and how to move forward? AN vs Arbcom? Makeandtoss (talk) 11:06, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
If you have an account you can link to a previous editor, take it up at WP:SPI - if the problem is a more diffuse one involving multiple accounts, but no obvious link to a prior sock master, maybe ANI, and if you think there's a broader background issues then yes, maybe AN. But the above are all already blocked. Iskandar323 (talk) 11:17, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
The first two emails are from Ismuchon who isn't yet blocked AFAIK. AncientWalrus (talk) 11:18, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
@AncientWalrus: Any new emails? Also can you please share the email of the users perhaps there is a pattern? Makeandtoss (talk) 14:17, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
Sockpuppetry investigation ongoing Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/AndresHerutJaim, to which I have added Ismuchon. The broader problem will likely go to Arbcom. Makeandtoss (talk) 11:25, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
@AncientWalrus @Iskandar323 The canvassing is getting progressively worse [1]. I am planning to take this to ArbCom, since SPI has been only opening checks when the users reverts socks, and not in any other case. Makeandtoss (talk) 14:19, 4 December 2023 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Qwerfjkl (bot). I have automatically detected that this edit performed by you, on the page 2023 Israel–Hamas war, may have introduced referencing errors. They are as follows:

  • A "bare URL and missing title" error. References show this error when they do not have a title. Please edit the article to add the appropriate title parameter to the reference. (Fix | Ask for help)

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 13:29, 28 October 2023 (UTC)

Your requested move at 2018–2019 Gaza border protests

Hi, I would strongly encourage that you read the contents of WP:BLUDGEON before making any further comments to the discussion. So far, you've responded to every single oppose vote, often reiterating the same arguments (I'm aware that some of the oppose votes are repeating the same arguments, but Wikipedia discussions are based on the strength of each argument, so it is unnecessary to repeat yourself). Your points in the discussion are perfectly valid, but you should consider taking a step back to let other editors discuss the move. ~ F4U (talkthey/it) 18:24, 29 October 2023 (UTC)

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:45, 28 November 2023 (UTC)

Canvassing at deletion discussion for Glorification of martyrdom in Palestinian society

Responding here to your message on my talk page. The canvassing email was sent from WP (I allow this obviously) on 3 December 2023 at 20:26 GMT. Its subject was: "Now they want to delete an article documenting how Palestinian society advocates for terrorism and death". The message itself was simply a link to the deletion discussion + "please vote" message. I would share the (first) name+mail address of the sender with an admin or CU clerk - though it's a very generic name from a very generic provider and thus easily changed/unlikely to be helpful.

I have NOT received other invites for many years, but I don't usually edit in the Isr/Pal topic area, which I have done peripherally in the last few weeks and the sender may have misundersood my 'biases', to the extent that I have them, or simply wrongly copied a name from a discussion. Pincrete (talk) 14:35, 4 December 2023 (UTC)

@Pincrete: Since the person/group in question has/have over 286 sockpuppets, he/she/them probably has/have 286 names and emails; so yes, as you said, it won't be helpful. I was hoping for some pattern that could help us tackle this issue. We've had this problem before but SPI isn't very helpful, so planning to take this somewhere higher. Still gathering evidence. Invitation

Hello Makeandtoss, we need experienced volunteers.
  • New Page Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles. We could use a few extra hands on deck if you think you can help.
  • Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; Wikipedia needs experienced users to perform this task and there are precious few with the appropriate skills. Even a couple reviews a day can make a huge difference.
  • Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision (if it looks daunting, don't worry, it basically boils down to checking CSD, notability, and title). If this looks like something that you can do, please consider joining us.
  • If you would like to join the project and help out, please see the granting conditions. You can apply for the user-right HERE.
  • If you have questions, please feel free to drop a message at the reviewer's discussion board.
  • Cheers, and hope to see you around.

"Fan Email"

Hi there, I just saw that "fan mail" on your user page. I know that since I am not the author, my apologizing for it doesn't really mean much, but I want to anyways. I'm so sorry that you were the recipient of such a message, and targeted in that way. Obviously that's unacceptable from a policy standpoint on Wikipedia, but more than that, it's unacceptable treatment of fellow scholars, fellow humans. I've been the target of similar messages myself (obviously leaning more towards antisemitic or false claims that I am Israeli and attacking me for being so in similar dehumanizing language). As much as we both may think we just laugh such things off, they do hurt and even can cause fear for our safety, or the safety of those around us. So, just wanted to say sorry that happened to you. --OuroborosCobra (talk) 16:05, 3 January 2024 (UTC)

Thank you but I’m not disturbed by the message, on the contrary I hold it as a badge. I’m only disturbed that this message represents a political reality: an increasingly audacious, arrogant, supremacist, expansionist, vile, racist and criminal ideology. This is my personal opinion separate from my editing here as I understand other people feel differently and have different experiences. Both sides are entitled to legitimate rage and frustration, but to turn that into personal attacks and threats is firmly unacceptable whether occurring to you or to me. Please stop: Quds News Network

This is the second time you have wholesale removed well-sourced material from Quds News Network, despite ongoing discussion on the talk page and with other edits. Please stop. The next time will be a report at AE. Longhornsg (talk) 15:00, 8 January 2024 (UTC)

@Longhornsg: Please stop throwing false accusations, no content was removed from that article, it was moved. This falsehood and aggressive tone is the thing that will be reported next time at AE. The talk page does not relate to whether information should be in the opening sentence, and I have the right to edit per BRD. Makeandtoss (talk) 15:01, 8 January 2024 (UTC)

January 2024

Your additions to Anti-Defamation League have been edited, as they appear to closely paraphrase a copyrighted source. Limited close paraphrasing or quotation is appropriate within reason, so long as the material is clearly attributed in the text. However, longer paraphrases which are not attributed to their source may constitute copyright violation or plagiarism, and are not acceptable on Wikipedia. Such content cannot be hosted here for legal reasons; please do not post it on any page, even if you plan to fix it later. You may use external websites or printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If you own the copyright to the text, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the copyright but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you.

Makeandtoss, I agreed with some of your additions of content, but some of this phrasing cited to the Guardian appears to be closely paraphrased sentences, which are not allowed. Thanks. Llll5032 (talk) 23:11, 9 January 2024 (UTC)

Please do not wrongfully edit Wikipedia articles

Thank you for your contribution. In the future, I kindly request that you do not bring personal prejudices when editing Wikipedia articles and instead to stick to factual evidence. I kindly request you do your research. Thank you! Icantthinkofaname22 (talk) 03:44, 15 January 2024 (UTC)

@Icantthinkofaname22: Everyone has personal opinions, and everyone has the right to edit any article while abiding by Wikipedia's guidelines. Your insinuation - probably based on my location - that I have not done so is audacious, condescending and extremely unpleasant. Makeandtoss (talk) 11:09, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
