For requesting source. That's very great full. This isn't a war. Don't want any enemies brother. So mind you language. Thanks again! Cheers!!

The WP:BURDEN is with YOU to source everything you add. It's not rocket science. Or maybe it is. Lugnuts Precious bodily fluids 11:18, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
Said thank for that already. I think your missing the point brother. LANGUAGE. As this is publicly visible to everyone. Could harm to your image. (Don't want enemies. Right? We're doing the same thing you and I. Because I'm wasting my time here, If we both agreed we can do this better. Or maybe I can just go without contribute. Think about that. As a Good Wikipedian) Thanks. Cheers!!

(Price Zero (talk) 11:30, 3 January 2017 (UTC))

No, you're missing the point. Go read up on WP:CIR before continuing, as your editing is terrible. Think about that. Lugnuts Precious bodily fluids 11:31, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

Nowdays...

Hello,

Sorry, but I don't know that, what is your idea. I was looked, what's your parameter in Wikipedia, but you're doing NOT good think, because this athletes, has got these award. They won, they earned this awards (look the Hungarian Wikipedia - translate it please). I'm Hungarian people, and I know that, they what great people. So I think, they deserve to mention these details about them. Sincerally Kov 93! Have a good day. Kov 93 (talk) 15:29, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

Blackie Whiteford

I know nothing about this person, but now I've discovered I'm a (very very distant) relative (by marriage) I might investigate some more. My sources (which I haven't checked for reliability) suggest he was married to one Alma Long. Do you have any information? Ghmyrtle (talk) 19:47, 4 January 2017 (UTC)

@Ghmyrtle: - Always good to find out things like that. I don't really have anything to add, as I created the article to fill in another actor redlink some years back. IMDB says he was married to Alma Bennett, which I guess could be the same person. Of course, IMDB itself is not a reliable source, but anything you find could be useful. Thanks. Lugnuts Precious bodily fluids 19:50, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
Yes, Alma Bennett was born Alma Long, apparently. I may look into him some more in due course. Ghmyrtle (talk) 19:59, 4 January 2017 (UTC)

Some baklava for you!

hey hello, big fan, im new in wikipedia, ive been editing a lot of https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Mar_del_Plata_International_Film_Festival i felt it was pretty shity, ah it was left over like 2 years ago so i kinda improve it a little bit and bring it into date, i have no experience at all, i was hoping if you could give me a hand and modernize a little bit the page, first of all helpe take away that ugly photo in the history section. Thanks from Argentina! TomiGuarnaccia (talk) 03:13, 7 January 2017 (UTC)

Hello! Why did you remove the {{No plot}} template? --INS Pirat (talk) 21:11, 9 January 2017 (UTC)

Because it's useless and used by drive-by taggers who can't be arsed to improve the article. It hasn't got a plot? No shit. You don't need a massive intrusive tag to state the obvious. Lugnuts Precious bodily fluids 07:38, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
{{No plot}} addresses, of course, to the editors, not the readers, and aside from the adding visible tag it also includes articles into the corresponding categories, that are, I'm sure (because that's their function), regularly checked by the users. If you think that the template, that has existed for 6 years and is currently used in 1500 articles, is practically useless, you should propose it for discussion. Removal of these templates from the articles one by one without even a comment is disruptive in my opinion. The 'Plot' section is essential for the articles about films, and the maintenance templates shouldn't be removed until the problems are handled.
As for the 'drive-by taggers', I'm not so good in English to write a plot section by myself, but I did it, for example, in Russian article. --INS Pirat (talk) 15:32, 10 January 2017 (UTC)

Hello, can you have a look on the Gerhard Lamprecht article which you created. I added some information about him, mostly from German-speaking sources, but I'm a bit unsure on grammar and speech since I'm not a native speaker. Regards, --Clibenfoart (talk) 17:15, 10 January 2017 (UTC)

@Clibenfoart: - nice work, thanks for the expansion! I've done a bit of copy-editing. Looks good to me. Lugnuts Precious bodily fluids 19:08, 10 January 2017 (UTC)

Discontinuty in Titles

Hi, I came across few articles which use different pattern in heading,

which is different from

Please advice. Thank you.srini (talk) 10:51, 11 January 2017 (UTC)

Hi. The sources show "England women" over "English women". For example, the first one on the list (English women's cricket team in Australia in 2013–14) shows as "England women..." on Cricinfo. I'll look into moving them at some point. Lugnuts Precious bodily fluids 11:25, 11 January 2017 (UTC)

But the WikiProject page enlist the articles in similar format as for men's teams. So shall i move all pages to such format (eg. England women's cricket team in the West Indies in 2016–17English women's cricket team in the West Indies in 2016–17).srini (talk) 11:52, 11 January 2017 (UTC)

The women's cricket project hasn't really been active since 2009. I'd hold off on the moves just yet - I'll take a further look. It's a low-value issue at the moment. Thanks. Lugnuts Precious bodily fluids 11:59, 11 January 2017 (UTC)

Okay, thanks.srini (talk) 12:09, 11 January 2017 (UTC)

Walter Görlitz socking with IP 208.81.212.224

You stated maybe the IP editor could WP:SOFIXIT instead of trolling with tags? I'm sure you know about WP:NPA where it suggests that you should comment on the content rather than on the contributors. I also suspect that you know that some editors don't have the first clue how to find specific information, and per WP:V, any material whose verifiability has been challenged or is likely to be challenged must include an inline citation. Requesting WP:V be met is not trolling. Walter Görlitz (talk) 06:09, 12 January 2017 (UTC)

Seeing as the IP editor has been here since 2009, they should know what they're doing. Lugnuts Precious bodily fluids 07:41, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
Oh wait a second, I see the IP editor is infact you! I'm sure there's a very good reason you edit with a sock account. Not very Christian of you, whichever way you look. Now forgive me as your "religion" commands you to do. Lugnuts Precious bodily fluids 11:48, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
Did you suggest that following WP:ALTACCN might reduce the "friction"? Best, — Sam Sailor 19:01, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
Hi Sam. It could do. However, I have absolutely ZERO tolerance for users like this who need to hide/edit with multiple accounts, esp and IP one! Apparently there's a "good reason" for this, but he can't/won't disclose it. Happy days. Lugnuts Precious bodily fluids 19:10, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
For some reason, I've just revisted this post, and a quick check shows that only a few weeks after this, Gorlitz was blocked. Guess what for? Socking with the very same IP account. Oh dear. Lugnuts Precious bodily fluids 11:31, 24 March 2017 (UTC)

Jackson Bird

I don't think it's redundant. How often a sub fielder gets so many catches? It's not common to see even 1 catch by sub fielder. It was picked up by many news sites and it sparked some discussion http://www.cricket.com.au/news/feature/matthew-renshaw-concussion-sub-australia-third-scg-test-pakistan-highlights-day-four/2017-01-06 I think it's notable and uncommon enough to deserve a mention... thanks for looking through Chris Sabburg article. On a side note, you changed one line to "his brief moment on the field during a Test match do not count towards" - you changed "does" to "do". Special cases

The articles that threw off the bot were Rigard van Klooster, Sanne van Kerkhof, Matthijs Büchli, Aafke Eshuis, Eva Lutz, Verena Jooß, Lada Kozlíková, Cora Westland and Astrid Schop. These were all the articles the first trial had moved to draft, and were all quickly moved back to mainspace, apparently unchanged. That is what got me thinking about audit, and also about confirmation that the approach is fully approved. The worst scenario is to find that thousands of restored articles have not in fact been reviewed beyond the "looks o.k." level, so we have to revert to the 1-week-then-mass-delete approach. Can I assume you will look after notifying projects and people that the clock has started when the bot has finally completed? Thanks, Aymatth2 (talk) 13:30, 19 January 2017 (UTC)

@Aymatth2: - seeing as they've been moved back by the same editor (acting in good faith, I assume), maybe it's worth talking to them instead of going for the one-week approach. This user has added their name to the list to work on the cleanup too. Lugnuts Precious bodily fluids 13:37, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
I saw them as symptoms of a potential problem that could flare up any time in the next 90 days, so will need constant vigilance. I can help with the audit, but otherwise do not want to spend much more time on this. I can do the notifications if you prefer. Let me know. Aymatth2 (talk) 13:47, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
@Aymatth2: I'm happy to do the notification once the bot has run. Shouldn't be too long now! Thanks again for your help. Lugnuts Precious bodily fluids 13:49, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
If you check the first list at User:Aymatth2/SvG clean-up/Guidelines#Lists, the Mainspace complete list, you should see the count of articles steadily edging up day after day. If there is a sudden jump, that is the danger signal. Probably it will be matched by a sudden jump in one of the sub-lists, e.g. Mainspace female weightlifters. A sample of entries in that list should show who is doing all the moves. Possibly they can be stopped in time. Let's hope this turns out to be a non-issue. Aymatth2 (talk) 18:04, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
@Aymatth2: projects have been notified (example). Lugnuts Precious bodily fluids 11:50, 20 January 2017 (UTC)
Thanks. Maybe wait until the bot has completed before notifying the individual users who participated or were mentioned in the User:Aymatth2/SvG clean-up dicussion, or listed themselves on User:Aymatth2/SvG clean-up/Guidelines. You should probably give prominence to User:Aymatth2/SvG clean-up/Guidelines. A link to User:Aymatth2/SvG clean-up#Saving an article from deletion may cause confusion, because it refers to userfication and also gives less information about what to watch for. Aymatth2 (talk) 13:39, 20 January 2017 (UTC)

PRODing

Just a note that when you propose articles for deletion, you need to put it in the edit summary, else the PROD can be rejected purely because the correct procedure wasn't followed. Harrias talk 12:07, 22 January 2017 (UTC)

Thanks Harrias. In my defense, it's not something I've done a lot of, but I'll make a note if I come to use it in the future. Lugnuts Precious bodily fluids 12:32, 22 January 2017 (UTC)

Japanese question

Hi, I saw that you are on the Japanese Cinema task force and was wondering if you read Japanese. If so I was hoping you could help me out. I currently have a list up for Featured List candidacy at Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/Jacques Rivette filmography/archive1. I am having trouble finding a reliable source for one film award, the 1992 Kinema Junpo award for Best Foreign film. There are plenty of unreliable sources on the web, but I am having difficulty using google translator to find a good source and I was hoping you or someone who can read Japanese could help me. Here is the Kinema Junpo website [1], which I have tried searching to the best of my ability. Hope this is something that can be done easily. --Deoliveirafan (talk) 20:54, 23 January 2017 (UTC)

New Page Review - newsletter No.2

Hello Lugnuts,
A HUGE backlog

We now have 804 New Page Reviewers!
Most of us requested the user right at PERM, expressing a wish to be able to do something about the huge backlog, but the chart on the right does not demonstrate any changes to the pre-user-right levels of October.

Hitting 17,000 soon

The backlog is still steadily growing at a rate of 150 a day or 4,650 a month. Only 20 reviews a day by each reviewer over the next few days would bring the backlog down to a managable level and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
It didn't work in time to relax for the Xmas/New Year holidays. Let's see if we can achieve our goal before Easter, otherwise by Thanksgiving it will be closer to 70,000.

Second set of eyes

Remember that we are the only guardians of quality of new articles, we alone have to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged by non-Reviewer patrollers and that new authors are not being bitten.

Abuse

This is even more important and extra vigilance is required considering Orangemoody, and

  1. this very recent case of paid advertising by a Reviewer resulting in a community ban.
  2. this case in January of paid advertising by a Reviewer, also resulting in a community ban.
  3. This Reviewer is indefinitely blocked for sockpuppetry.

Coordinator election

Kudpung is stepping down after 6 years as unofficial coordinator of New Page Patrolling/Reviewing. There is enough work for two people and two coords are now required. Details are at NPR Coordinators; nominate someone or nominate yourself. Date for the actual suffrage will be published later.

Hi. Per this part, all film articles have the country category. This is non-defusing for all countries. Also the cats by decade/genre are standard across all film articles too. Lugnuts Precious bodily fluids 15:35, 19 February 2017 (UTC)
Fair enough. If I weren't but a casual wanderer in those parts I would suggest adding "even if a parent category" to that section. --John (User:Jwy/talk) 15:59, 19 February 2017 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ankit Tiwari (cricketer) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. TopCipher 12:08, 20 February 2017 (UTC)

The Chekist

Good day!

Please explain why you deleted my text?

In the original version was only two sentences, which was the story description. VERY brief description. I made a detailed description. Why do you have it removed?

Ulugbeck1 (talk) 12:20, 6 March 2017 (UTC)

@Ulugbeck1: - It reads like a very bad machine-translated copy from somewhere and makes very little sense, such as the line " If ordinary performers simply sadistic pleasure revenge "bourgeois", enjoying the animal fear of victims, pleading for mercy, Srubov the cabins wants to justify horrible bloodbath some public welfare." The plot is meant to describe what happens in the film. Thanks. Lugnuts Precious bodily fluids 12:23, 6 March 2017 (UTC)

You are absolutely right! But we are working together with my colleague - https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User_talk:Er_nesto. You see? I write lyrics in Russian, doing machine translation, and the ability to make some time later, my colleague makes a correct translation. If you have waited two days, the article would be translated correctly!

Ulugbeck1 (talk) 12:29, 6 March 2017 (UTC)

@Ulugbeck1: maybe perfect the translation on your talkpages/sandboxes first, then move them into the main article once they are good to go. Thanks. Lugnuts Precious bodily fluids 12:31, 6 March 2017 (UTC)

From the moment when I post the pages until the moment of their correction takes two days, sometimes one day. Are users can not wait few days? Not a week, not a month, not a year. 1-2 days!

And most importantly: when using your option of creating new pages, authorship will be lost. Now everything is clearly visible: I'm doing the original page, and my colleague Er_nesto is making the final proof. If I'm going to do a page in my sandbox, then it will not be clear that my colleague helped me. Sorry, but I do not want to take on someone else's work!

Ulugbeck1 (talk) 11:21, 7 March 2017 (UTC)

My colleague and I are making good pages. Yes, sometimes this is a little disruptive in the order of creating pages. But what is important for Wikipedia - new pages or total bureaucracy?

Ulugbeck1 (talk) 11:25, 7 March 2017 (UTC)

Well you admit what you're doing is disruptive. Be careful with that, as it can lead you to being blocked. No harm in drafting it in your sandbox over a period of time and moving it to the live article. There is no deadline. Lugnuts Precious bodily fluids 11:33, 7 March 2017 (UTC)

One more time. I and my colleague make a page in my sandbox. This is the work of two people. Right? But when I post this page in the main encyclopedia, only I alone will be the author. After all, the page can accommodate only one person. You see, one man! Right? I can not deprive the authorship of my colleague!

Ulugbeck1 (talk) 11:43, 7 March 2017 (UTC)

Take it in turns then if it bothers you so much. Lugnuts Precious bodily fluids 11:44, 7 March 2017 (UTC)

I'll think about your suggestion. But I'm still confident that new articles are more important than bureaucratic rules.

And about the blocks ... I left the Russian Wikipedia forever because I had to arrange bureaucratic correspondence, and not create new articles. Any rules should help a person to do something new.

Ulugbeck1 (talk) 11:57, 7 March 2017 (UTC)

Hello,

Me and Ulugbeck1 are interested in making quality articles; Ulugbeck1 does not post machine translations with the intention that they would be on Wikipedia for any longer than 2 days.

I request that you do not remove Ulugbeck1's machine translations if less than 2 days pass. Of course I think it is appropriate that if an article has not been proofread in 2 days it should be reverted.

After Ulugbeck1 posts an article I proofread it in about one day. If we only post the finished version, the article will have only one author, but both of us wish to be credited.

You're welcome. I'm glad my rewrite of the plot for My Life as a Zucchini satisfied the issue. Inkan1969 (talk) 16:51, 13 March 2017 (UTC)

Utopia (2015 film)

Hi. What was the problem with plot of movie? Shkuru Afshar (talk) 14:07, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

It was pretty much a word-for-word copy from IMDB, which isn't allowed (or from any other website). Feel free to re-add in the plot, in your own words. Lugnuts Precious bodily fluids 14:13, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

T-A

It was an amazing race, I am happy you have not forgotten me! I saw the highlights except the 2 stages which were broadcast on the week-end, which I saw in full and witnessed an impressive Sagan win. I'll probably come back soon, I am not sure when. Has anybody taken the reigns for cycling related articles? (Watching MSR as I type) Mattsnow81 (Talk) 15:14, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

Sagan beaten by somewhat of a though to spell wheelsucker. His MSR curse remains. Mattsnow81 (Talk) 18:07, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
I made my first significant edit in a huge while, how do you think this is? [2] Mattsnow81 (Talk) 18:26, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

Take a look

I started thinking more about the SvG audit. See User talk:Aymatth2/SvG clean-up/Audit notes. Maybe you can review it. See the sample user audit at the back. Often the information is correct but SvG's "source" does not support it. Clearly these articles were restored without being checked. Maybe it would have been easier to have just deleted all the SvG articles, then recreated selected ones from scratch based on solid sources. Too late now. Thanks, Aymatth2 (talk) 15:55, 19 March 2017 (UTC)
