Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Marriage Rows may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. 2 German film articles
Hi Lugnuts: Interesting situation here. So far as I can determine, on the same day, 26 January 2008, you created two articles on German silent films that are in fact the same film: In the Ecstasy of Billions and Dance on the Volcano. Both articles are about Part 2 of a two-parter that is known in German as both Der Fluch der Menschheit (The Curse of Man, created by you on 25 January 2008, but that article is only about Part 1) and Der Tanz auf dem Vulkan. Part 2 is known both as Im Rausche der Milliarden and Der Tod des Großfürsten and Part 1 is known both as Die Tochter der Arbeit and Sybil Young (see German version of Bela Lugosi filmography). At least Part 2 is double-entered at IMDb: Der Fluch der Menschheit -2 and Der Fluch der Menschheit - 2. Im Rausche der Milliarden. There is also a 1938 film called [Der] Tanz auf dem Vulkan, which is what I was expecting when the link turned out to be blue: de:Tanz auf dem Vulkan. Since you created both the articles on Part 2 (and the article on Part 1), what do you think had better be done? My suggestion would be: merge the two Part 2 articles at In the Ecstasy of Billions, which has better sourcing, and I think it ought to be moved to the German title. Create an article on Tanz auf dem Vulkan. Move The Curse of Man to one of the two titles by which Part 1 goes, and make a stub at The Curse of Man on the entire two-parter, giving the alternate title Der Tanz auf dem Vulkan there - then provide a hatnote at the article on the 1938 film pointing to that stub for those seeking the 1920 two-parter or one of its parts (it looks as if Dance on the Volcano was also used in the US for just one of the parts). Do you have a better plan? Yngvadottir (talk) 17:01, 5 July 2013 (UTC)
- OK, I'll implement that plan when I have a bit more time than I do today. The 1938 film will be at Tanz auf dem Vulkan (1938) for clarity and because IMDb shows tv movies with the same title, so it should probably become a DAB page. Yngvadottir (talk) 17:38, 5 July 2013 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Clyde Duncan (disambiguation)
A tag has been placed on Clyde Duncan (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates two or fewer extant Wikipedia pages and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic); or
- disambiguates no (zero) extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Boleyn (talk) 15:11, 6 July 2013 (UTC)
Question regarding notability
Upon reading the criteria as per Wikiproject:Cricket, I'm honestly somewhat perplexed. Perhaps it is due to my ignorance of the sport of cricket, but it seems to me the idea that any player or umpire since the year 1697 is far too broad; it feels akin to a creation of, say, "Wikiproject:Pokemon", asserting that any and all Pokemon are notable and merit individual articles. Please, if you may, enlighten me as to the justification for this policy. Swibe (talk) 17:54, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

DYK for Ludwig von Salm-Hoogstraeten
On 11 July 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Ludwig von Salm-Hoogstraeten, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that although Olympic tennis player Ludwig von Salm-Hoogstraeten was banned from competing many times in his career for on-court misconduct, he taught tennis etiquette to children? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Ludwig von Salm-Hoogstraeten. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

RE:Stig Mårtensson
Yes, I've noticed it too. The Davis cup site has his birth date as 1913 not 1923. Although they could be different persons but what is usual and I came across such errors many times is that the pre-WW people birth dates are very uncertain. I really doubt that two socially high classed (an era-specific must) Swedish persons existed who competed in international sports and also can not be related (they couldn't be brothers - same name, couldn't be father-son - 10 years age difference). These people were multi-talented so to say and one all-round sportman practised many types of activity. So I bet it's the same person but I couldn't dig out any more - as of yet. In theory, all of the first-class redlinks for all the teams are there - up to around 2007-08. Most of those other lists in different userspaces were very hastily cobbled together and therefore won't make any sense. Bobo. 09:19, 22 July 2013 (UTC)

Requested Articles
I hope I am not abusing your talk page notice, but I am trying to reinvigorate Wikipedia:WikiProject Requested Articles, which, if I get enough pointers that there is some interest, I will re-design, with a design similar to Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors, involving drives, to decrease the number of articles listed in the various subpages, and blue link blitzes, involving editors removing all created pages. I am planning, with sufficient interest, to make requested articles 'stricter', i.e. you have to provide two reliable sources, and write a short note explaining why the requested article is notable. There would be a reward system, involving adapted barnstars, similar to the Guild of Copy Editors have here and here. If you have any questions about my aim, or want to indicate that you would sign up to the WikiProject, please say so on my talk page. Thanks! Matty.007 16:18, 29 July 2013 (UTC)

Politics and ITN
Hi! Just a polite request, could you try and keep your personal politics out off the ITN nomination process? I'm referring to the Bradley Manning discussion. Your personal opinion that he is a traitor (which he obviously isn't, but I digress) is not relevant for the case at hand, and is indeed counter-productive. Old players without WP articles
Hi there - I recently started User:Bobo192/Debutantes - which contains every first-class debutante from 1829 to 1836. I know this isn't much at the moment, but on my personal private list I'm up to 1880-81. I will post these probably when I'm up to 1890 (the first year of the County Championship) and when I'm certain they're fully disambiguated.

Hello Lugnuts, sorry I did something before asking you and I undid that revision so I can tell you first. An article with title Fifty Shades of Grey (film) was already exist since May 14 but User:The Vintage Feminist created Fifty Shades of Grey (2014 film) lately on August 12. Can you merge the history or ask someone to do it please, because I've seen this that already existed articles history been merged into lately created. Examples are my moved articles like Left Behind (2014 film), histories in those articles were merged, thanks. -- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 03:08, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
- Extra note about this.
- Fifty Shades of Grey (film) used to link to the #Film adaptation section of Fifty Shades of Grey (an article about the novel).
- I created a daughter article from that section which became Fifty Shades of Grey (2014 film).
- User:Captain Assassin! sent me this message (which he has since edited) saying that the article already exists as Fifty Shades of Grey (film).
- I placed a "main article" hat note in the original Fifty Shades of Grey#Film adaptation section.
- I checked to make sure that Fifty Shades of Grey (film) redirects to Fifty Shades of Grey (2014 film).
- The only problem with the Fifty Shades of Grey (2014 film) article that I can see now is the talk page for the article seems to have gone from Fortdj33's last revision to now being completely blank.
- I'm not sure that there is anything useful in the history of Fifty Shades of Grey (film) that needs to merge into Fifty Shades of Grey (2014 film)'s history, and I didn't think it would be possible to extract the film adaptation section's history from the novel's article (which I think is what Captain Assassin! is actually after).
- I hope this is useful.--The Vintage Feminist (talk) 07:12, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
- You didn't understood the situation The Vintage Feminist here, I'm saying that the Fifty Shades of Grey (2014 film)'s history should be merged into Fifty Shades of Grey (film) and not novel's history please. And Fifty Shades of Grey (2014 film) should be redirect to Fifty Shades of Grey (film) because it was existed when you created the other one with year in title. -- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 07:25, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
- A user User talk:Betty Logan is tagging the article with CSD now, what's that?. -- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 07:28, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
- This is wrong now, huh. Article was existed and Betty Logan is making it removed again and again. -- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 07:42, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
- You can see now Lugnuts that he has removed the article first created and now all history is gone. What is wrong with all people, it just happened with me before with Rusted AutoParts. Now you know that every thing went wrong because of Logan, I was just trying to do good. -- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 07:47, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
- I have examples for this what Rusted AutoParts did to me previously, as also wrote in history of articles that I'm taking it back what's mine or I'm taking my credit back etc. So I can have what I created and I was going to create that article. So please fix it, should I copy from article with 2014 in title. -- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 07:53, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Lugnuts, would you please do me a huge favor and instruct this muppet not to interfere with page moves. He turned a straightforward procedure into an absolute clusterfuck today. Fifty Shades of Grey (film) was and always has been a redirect. A new article was created by User:The Vintage Feminist at Fifty Shades of Grey (2014 film) on August 12. Yesterday, User:Captain Assassin! carried out a cut paste move by copying all the content from Fifty Shades of Grey (2014 film) to Fifty Shades of Grey (film) so I reverted it. As per WP:NCF#Disambiguation the article should indeed be at Fifty Shades of Grey (film) (so he at least got that part right), so I nominated the redirect at Fifty Shades of Grey (film) for deletion under G6, so Fifty Shades of Grey (2014 film) could be article moved to Fifty Shades of Grey (film). This tool went and recreated the article so the move couldn't go ahead. I therefore nominated it a second time, only for him to remove the deletion notice and turn it back into a redirect. Thankfully User:Bgwhite stepped in and moved the article to where it should be, but please please please tell Captain Assassin not to carry out "cut and paste" moves, and that it is not necessary to carry out a history merge on a page that has only ever been a redirect! Betty Logan (talk) 08:07, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
- But it was a redirect so anyone can copy the contents in it, which already happened with me. I'm telling you again and again that I copied it first but then I undid it by myself, I told Lugnuts this in start. And then you jumped in and made a mess all of it. If it is a policy where was that when I created A Million Ways to Die in the West, it was just a redirect before. -- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 08:13, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
- You didn't create an article, you created a redirect at Fifty Shades of Grey (film) a few months ago. User:The Vintage Feminist created the article in her userspace (as can be clearly seen from the edit history), and then moved it to Fifty Shades of Grey (2014 film). By cutting and pasting her work that effectively removes her authorship, which is legally and ethically wrong. The correct procedure was to delete your page-hogging redirect and move her article to the right page, as a I explained in the edit summaries, on my own talk page and at the Film project talk page. Betty Logan (talk) 08:28, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
- But as I told you can see Transcendence (2014 film), which I created at my userspace was taken by Rusted AutoParts by just copying my contents from my userspace, what was that then, huh? Was that a policy here? Policy goes in this way that if redirect is existed then just copy the contents in it, no need to create another article. It's what I was told in that time, so where are those policies now or where were these policies then? I'm just so much messed up now, you have done wrong by the way. You should have just put the contents in the redirect as it happens already. -- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 08:49, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
- I don't give a shit what is going on between you and User:Rusted Auto Parts. What I care about is that you tried to seize the authorship of someone else's work and that is unacceptable. She wrote the article, you didn't, so she takes the credit. If someone else has done this to you then raise the issue at the Film project and we will look into it, but no more cut & paste moves! Betty Logan (talk) 08:56, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
- Alright, see you next time but this is all wrong. I created the Transcendence (2014 film) which Rusted AutoParts took the credit. Where were you that time? -- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 09:11, 15 August 2013 (UTC)

Assassin, considering the monumental mess you've made previously regarding moves, merges and redirects, do you not think that you should back off now while the going is good? So far no one has dragged you back to ANI for doing what you were told not to do before, but I wouldn't keep winding people up needlessly, or that is exactly what will happen to you again. I strongly advise you to drop the stick, slink off and try and do something more constructive... - SchroCat (talk) 10:43, 15 August 2013 (UTC)

Lugnuts, I believe you may be misquoting or misunderstanding WP:SAL. It's certainly not true that every item in every list needs to meet WP:N. That's simply one of the common selection criteria. Those criteria can be helpful for lists not about a finite set of things, such as List of individual dogs, though note that that list doesn't meet either of the common selection criteria listed at SAL; some of the dogs have articles, while many others never will. Your interpretation, at least, directly contradicts WP:NLISTITEM. Do you believe all song lists, or all song lists including songs that don't themselves meet N, should be deleted? By the arguments you've advanced at several recent AfDs, it would seem you'd want to have some featured lists deleted as well. --BDD (talk) 19:20, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
The article Tyrannens fald has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Unreferenced in addition to not making serious claims to WP:NFILM
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hasteur (talk) 20:44, 16 August 2013 (UTC)
Lists
Not often you and I find ourselves on opposite sides of an AFD!! I understand your way of thinking with the lists, and a lot of lists do appear to be pure cruft on here, I tried to delete Pokemon and manga list cruft a while back and encountered a strong resistance to deletion. However, lists like this are generally widely accepted on here and even encouraged. The Lata list though is sort of like the Indian equivalent to List of Beatles songs or List of Elvis Presley songs. OK, most of Lata's songs are not as famous as any of their songs in the west, but all of the songs don't need to be really notable in their own right to be included in the list and a complete list of works by subjects is encouraged in the guidelines on here for comprehension's sake. I agree that the lists need a lot of work to become "encyclopedic" though but I'm convinced that deletion at least for Lata and Kumar isn't the best way to go about improving things. Anyway, I've improved The Mountain Eagle!!♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:46, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
Thanks. Well I've invited a few people to help improve the Lata list at least, so hopefully something will come of it! I understand you see AFD as a sort of "clean up the crap" thing, but at least it's not a List of Hindi films featuring bubble gum or List of Tamil films featuring songs about taxi drivers sort of thing!..♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:01, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi Lugnuts, I am new to this. I added a couple of links to the director Christopher Miles own website as an external link on two of the films he directed which I notice you have reverted. One Chance
I'd appreciate if you didn't leave patronizing messages like this on my talk page. I've been editing for more than four years and I am well aware of many of our wikipedia editing policies. Per WP:NFILMS, it discusses that coverage needs to be significant from reliable sources. I said in my edit summary that the page should be remade when there is more information about the release, but that a cast list alone is not notable. I also cited WP:GNG. You have reverted yet given no reasons for reverting. Not only do I find that rude, but I also find it insulting. You should really re-consider your edits, because considering GNG and NFILMS I don't see any reason as to why your edit was correct. → Lil-℧niquԐ 1 - { Talk } - 13:03, 2 September 2013 (UTC)
- A bit of WP:Good faith doesn't go a miss. No need to be rude. I'm annoyed because you issued a warning for no reason. If you're going to revert someone who has cited a potential guideline/policy breach you should at least give your reasons for reverting and discuss. I wont argue with you over it cause I can see that despite asking you to explain your edit you are not going to. By the way, removing the {{notability}} tag and citing WP:POINTY was rather inappropriate. I pointed out the guideline and said IMO its not notable. The burden of proof is then down to yourself to prove why it is notable hence I tagged the page. Its not all being disruptive. I really don't appreciate that insinuation. → Lil-℧niquԐ 1 - { Talk } - 16:04, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

Request reason:
I've given my response here which shows that I've not been involved in a 3RR. Please look at the diffs provided by the other user and the reply I've posted below. None of them are reverts of reverts, etc, they are all different edits, all made in good faith. I assume the other user will get a longer block for the personal attacks? You also state at the Admin NB that I didn't engage on the talkpage, but I did! Thanks. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 17:42, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

- That's my point - they were edits to expand/fix the article, some of which were reverted for no reason at all by the other user. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 18:01, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) Certainly, I would be happy to. [1], [2], [3], [4], [5]. While the last two diffs are not exact reverts of the first three, they are still reverts and are simply a continuation of the first three. Remember, Per WP:EDITWAR: A "revert" means any edit (or administrative action) that reverses the actions of other editors, in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material. Oh, and lastly, you are blocked for edit warring, my block entry does not mention WP:3RR. Best, Tiptoety talk 18:04, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

- I agree that Curly Turkey additionally violated WP:NPA, and I can respect that you feel slighted by the fact that you both received the same block length. That said, I did cite WP:NPA in Curly Turkey's block log entry. Additionally, Curly Turkey has never been blocked before and acknowledged that their language was inappropriate. Should the issue continue he will be met with a much longer block. Tiptoety talk 18:16, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- Disappointing to see that you see a few edit reverts in the same vein as offensive personal attacks from an editor who clearly knows they're not appropriate. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 18:30, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- And your "Clue = 0" edit summary that started the whole thing was supposed to be helpful? Even blocks seems most fair, actually. You both edit warred and while his incivility was worse than yours, you baited him. I used to revert like you just did on The Selfish Giant... until they kept being undone and realised they had a point. Category:Year of birth unknown
Hello, Lugnuts! I noticed that you have marked articles with the above Category:Year of birth unknown, when they lack the year of birth. My I make a suggestion? Some times, the year may not be unknown at all, just missing from the article. If it is then marked with Category:Year of birth unknown, no one may bother looking for a year of birth, even if it is just missing and could be added by some one with access to better information were that year could be found and added to the article. In that way, the article may never be improved in regard to that. So perhaps it would be better to use the Category:Year of birth missing? Unless of course you know it is truly unknown. 24 Hours in the Life of a Woman
Dear Lugnuts, I do not understand why it is a big problem to sign in the relavant page that there is a connection to other pages that bears the same name. If you have no acknowledge of the information about that connection, I will tell you that the novella Twenty-Four Hours in the Life of a Woman written by Stefan Zweig has a numbers of film adaptaions and this little marking takes attention to the disambiguation page and helps the Readers to inform them about these living connections among the articles. Again I repeat it: Why is it a big problem to undo my editing? I have not done any damage with the article. I think it is a useful link for the Readers!Borgatya (talk) 17:12, 29 September 2013 (UTC)
- You misunderstand the rule, you do a big problem from a little case. If there is connection among these article we must inform the readers. - Yeah you say: the editors of the interwikis (dewiki, frwiki, huwiki) are stupid and do not understand the disambiguation rule but you are the only one who is the smartest in the world and what you claim it is just the truth. I repeat the question: Why is it a big problem to undo my editing? Or ore simply: What damage will occurs on the article if we mark the connection among the relevant fim, the novella and the other filmadaptations?????????????
