Hi Logan
Thx for the welcome. I don't really understand, how the article I posted didn't fit the criteria of relevance in Wikipedia. Maybe you could tell me how? The page in question, The_Malpractice_(band), released three albums to good reviews. How do I meet your criteria of relevance with the article.
Regards Simon — Preceding unsigned comment added by Simonlchristensen (talk • contribs) 22:19, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
- Please see the WP:BAND criteria for an idea of what a good band article should contain. Logan Talk Contributions 22:27, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
- I allready checked and read it, made new article, and I don't see, how the subject fails to meet criterias of relevance. This article describes a band that allreadys released several albums that is mentioned, analyzed and reviewed in several media, including the largest medias in Denmark. The second time I made the article I added these references, but still it was subject to speedy deletion. Why? Kind regards Simonlchristensen (talk) 14:56, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
Why were my edits deleted?
Hi, can you please tell me why my edits were deleted from tonight's work on the No Kill shelter page?
209.30.130.98 (talk) 05:15, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
- You were not adhering to WP:NPOV. The article is biased enough as it is. Logan Talk Contributions 05:17, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
But the article was biased AGAINST no-kill sheltering ideology. I was attempting to add more balance to the article, which is what was requested at the top of the page. I just spent hours doing what the page requested--- making it more balanced and fair.
209.30.130.98 (talk) 05:22, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
- In that case, I apologize for pulling the trigger too quickly. It's clear that you tried to find reliable sources for your work (although some weren't, such as the blogs). I will restore your edits. Logan Talk Contributions 05:24, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Hello, I need help
Hi, I've never created any sort of web page before and was hoping you would look over my page again and maybe give me specifics as to what I can change. This subject is close to my heart and I've been working very hard to make it look good. You put some tags on my page but to be honest I really don't even know what they mean. I've added some stuff since you tagged it, but there is still more that could be done with the subject. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thejolene (talk • contribs) 05:48, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
- I have cleaned up the article a bit. The tone needs to be worked on (second-person pronouns should be avoided, as this is an encyclopedia). Also, you need to add more internal links (using [[Example link]]) Logan Talk Contributions 05:59, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for your interest in the account creation process. I have verified that you have signed the confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information and approved your request.
You may now access the interface here. Before you begin handling requests, please ensure you have read and understood the account creation guide and username policy to familiarize yourself with the process.
Please subscribe yourself to the private ACC mailing list following the instructions on that page. I also advise that you also join us on IRC #wikipedia-en-accounts connect where a bot informs us when new account requests come in and you can get real time advice on how to handle requests.
Please note failure to correctly assess requests will result in suspension of tool access. Account creation is not a race, and each one should be handled diligently and thoroughly. Releasing personally identifying information (such as IP and email addresses), whether intentionally or unintentionally, is treated very seriously and will generally result in immediate suspension.
Currently you are allowed to create up to six accounts per day, and you won't be able to create an account with a similar name to that of another user; these requests are marked as "Flagged user needed" on the interface. However, if you reach the limit frequently, you can request the account creator permission at Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Account creator.
Please don't hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any questions. Thank you for participating in the account creation process. Again welcome! Pmlineditor ∞ 16:21, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Mobius Dick
Logan, I received a message from you regarding my edits to the entry for Futurama's up and coming episode, Mobius Dick. I tried rephrasing my edits to make them more professional and in-line with wikipedia's style, however it seems that my edits are continually reverted. The title of Futurama's episode is "Mobius Dick" which is a phrase from a mathematics joke "What's non-orientable and lives in the ocean". I believe this is a perfectly valid thing to be included in the cultural references section of this article, especially since it is more relevant and to the point to what is there at the moment. Please let me know how I should change the wording. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Slimey J (talk • contribs) 03:35, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- If that is the reason behind the name of the episode, you must include a reliable source to back it up. Logan Talk Contributions 03:46, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- That seems a bit arbitrary. There are no reliable sources given for the current cultural references. The whole point of pop-cultural references is that such things don't need to be spelled out. It just so happens that the writers of futurama inhabit a more mathematical pop-culture where Mobius dick is as common as a chicken crossing the road. At any rate, I guess fair enough and it's not like most futurama fans wouldn't already know anyway and i'm sure you have better things to do with your time. cheers Slimey J (talk) 04:05, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
Globe Derby Park
I have been advised that you arranged for Globe Derby Park, South Australia to be moved to Globe Derby Park. Can you please explain the move? I ask this because almost every other Adelaide suburb article is titled in the format [name], South Australia. The only exceptions I have found so far are Adelaide city centre, North Adelaide and Adelaide Airport. The former two don't need the addition , South Australia on the grounds of greater notability and the latter is questionable whether it is or isn't a suburb.
Secondly, I must also express my disappointment that I didn't have an opportunity to discuss this prior to such a significant change. If I had, I would have pointed out that it is too arguable whether the stadium or the suburb has greater notability hence Globe Derby Park (stadium), Globe Derby Park, South Australia (suburb) and Globe Derby Park (disambig/redirect).
Incidentally, when you were moving articles around, you seem to have forgotten to remove the redirect at Talk:Globe Derby Park.
Thank you.

Hi Logan
Hello, For the Ronald Bradshaw page, I could not find any sources about this man. That is why I put it up for deletion. Unless you or someone else can find credible sources, then I stand corrected. Plus, the author of that page was already told in a previous page he created that he needs sources. Anyway, thanks for the help! 68.192.0.90 (talk) 22:30, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- Well, assuming that this article isn't a complete hoax, he does seem to have appeared in notable movies/TV shows, according to the article, thus passing the entertainers guideline. However, like you, I cannot find any other sources that corroborate this information, so I am proposing it for deletion at AFD. Logan Talk Contributions 22:35, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

- "Sourced content" is not the be-all and end-all. You have to look into the sources to see if the content is still valid or if it needs to be updated. In addition, half the content removed appears to have been plagiarized from the foundation's website, so that had to go. NW (Talk) 16:13, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
- Still, the editor was not using an edit summary, which explains how s/he was "removing content without explanation." I don't assume good faith with IP addresses unless they are clearly removing vandalism if they do not use an edit summary. However, if you find the content to be plagiarized/using unreliable sources, feel free to revert me. Logan Talk Contributions 16:15, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
- That's bullshit. If you do that again in the future and I see you, I will block you. Take some time to investigate before you drive off a new contributor. Just because you know how to use edit summaries doesn't mean every newbie does. NW (Talk) 16:21, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

Dabfix problems
This edit wasn't a MOSDAB fix and wasn't minor (removing templates, including Wiktionary templates, is never minor). I don't know the dabfix program, but please check its usage. -- JHunterJ (talk) 23:17, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry about that. The tool automatically removed the hot mess Wiktionary link, which it usually does if the word does not exist on Wiktionary. However, it does exist. I will report that to the operator of the tool on IRC. Logan Talk Contributions 23:18, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
- It also changed groups into sections to a short dab list, which is something it should not be doing. You also created the talk page just to hold the dab project banner, which is something that shouldn't be done -- the banner should be added only after actual discussion has appeared on the talk page. - The tool removed the wiktionary link because there was no Hot mess (disambiguation) (or similar qualifier) to the page. Thus, there is no a path for a reader reaching the disambiguation page to expect "hot mess" as a definition. Primary topic usage around it complicates it more so. However, I'll look into to add a Wiktionary verification in the future. Secondly point, heading the are more semantic then bold text and I'm using this to enhance the presentation in another tool. Use level 3 headings can be used if you visually like them better. — Dispenser 00:01, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

Apologies for inadvertent erroniously-applied block
I apologize for the recent block which I erroniously placed on you. I had seen a vandalism warning you issued and inadvertently blocked you, the vandalism reverter, instead of the vandal you had reverted. I issued two unblock requests within a few minutes of applying the block, but hadn't seen the block removed when User:KFP messaged me to ask whether the block was accidental. I answered that it was, and I now see that the block has been removed by him. This was entirely my error and, once again, I apologize for it. No vandalism; content dispute
I don't understand. Why are you confusing Wikipedia:Vandalism with Wikipedia:Content dispute and threatening me with blocking? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.110.241.124 (talk) 16:51, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
- You are adding completely unsourced content to the article. If you can find a reliable source to back up your information, feel free to re-add it. Also, another editor warned you multiple times before I had to give you a level 4 warning, which shows me that you don't care about resolving the issue before continuing to edit. Logan Talk Contributions 16:53, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Logan! Actually, since issuing those warnings, I have eliminated my first two and reduced the third. I wanted to ask you if you would consider reducing your Level 4 to Level 2. Upon further research, and per the response I am currently drafting on my talkpage, the edits to Stabilisation and Association Process are indeed part of a content dispute and technically not vandalism. Had I understood that from the outset, he would only have received one of my warnings, not three, and therefore yours would only have been a Level 2. Thanks! — SpikeToronto 17:09, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
- The user is already blocked for edit-warring. Logan Talk Contributions 17:10, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, but the edit-warring block is because of you and I reverting his edits and he putting them back in. The edit war, therefore, was you and I versus him. As rare as it is, I was mistaken in giving him the first two warnings. But for those errors, your Huggle would only have issued him a Level 2. Your next revert after that would have been a Level 3 and not an automated report to AIV. But for that, he would not now be blocked. Therefore, not only do I think that I needed to eliminate those first two warnings and reduce the third down to a Level 1, which I have done, but yours needs to be lowered to what it otherwise would have been (Level 2), and he needs to be unblocked. You are not at fault, your Huggle merely automatically escalated the warning level. If there had been a way for me to reset his warning levels in Huggle so that the next warning (i.e., yours) would have been a Level 2, I would have done that. Thanks! — SpikeToronto 17:33, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

Per the discussion you started at ANI, she's agreed to work with me on her CSD taggings. I've done this for a while, and I know what I'm doing, so I should be able to get her going on the right path. If you want to drop in and help at any time, your input is welcome. As an unrelated aside, several times in the last few days I've seen you hit pages I've CSD tagged with AWB. Is there any particular reason you're using AWB on articles that are tagged for speedy deletion? I'm not being accusatory, I'm just not sure. Especially if an article is completely hopeless (i.e. something like the famed example at the bottom of WP:HAMMER), that can make it harder to monitor because (top) won't show up next to the edit tagging it for CSD, which is very useful for checking to see if the creator removed the tag. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 04:07, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
- Glad to see that you're mentoring USchick. She will probably benefit from the extra guidance about CSD criteria. About the AWB editing, I apply AWB edits on all new pages because even speedied articles can be declines, and then it is nice to have a workable article after the fact. Logan Talk Contributions 04:15, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
- Ah, makes sense; my only advice would be to leave articles tagged with G12 alone, because those really need to be monitored before they're deleted or OTRS permission is received (given that copyvios can cause the Foundation legal trouble; there's one article listed at WP:OFFICE for that reason) and AWB can't fix copyright issues. As for USchick, I think she'll catch on pretty quickly; I've taken a look at her content edits, and she seems like an intelligent person. I don't think this will be too long and drawn out. Checklinks
When using checklinks, please ensure that you verify that changes made are correct before saving. This edit to The Suite Life of Zack & Cody replaced piped links to the correct article with piped links to redirects and inserted {{dead link}} into the middle of references, instead of at the end. --AussieLegend (talk) 19:02, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
- That is actually the proper formatting for dead links. The dead link superscript link goes immediately to the right of the link, not at the end of the reference. However, regarding the bypassing of redirects, that is an automatic feature of Checklinks that removes ugly section-linking notation from the editing text of the article. That's a visual change that is debated by some editors. I will discuss that feature with Dispenser, as I have had some editors say the same in the past about bypassing those redirects. Thanks for notifying me! Logan Talk Contributions 19:05, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Hello,
I am the only child of Mallia Franklin and I want to include information on her career and life. She died last year. Simmons Jones Baker...
Hi! Thanks a lot for your help cleaning up Simmons Jones Baker. For clarification, you're saying that when citing a book that has been converted to html one should NOT include "format=html" in the cite? I'm working on the orphan problem. As an early Grand Master of MAsons of North Carolina he's in a relatively short chain that includes many of the early governors of NC as well as the state's first Chief Justice. Thanks again! Eric Cable | Talk 12:33, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

Question
Hi there,
So, questions already. Actually, more advise. Think this article is notable enough? I'm leaning towards WP:A7 but wanted a second opinion. Thanks! Bped1985 (talk) 06:12, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- Spending 40 years on television is enough to establish notability, imo. However, I would PROD it because it doesn't have enough reliable sources for verifiability purposes. Logan Talk Contributions 06:17, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- This is entirely true. And I will do so. Thank you sir! Bped1985 (talk) 06:19, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

John Carlos Tenorio
You contested the speedy deletion of John Carlos Tenorio, which was the right move, per A7 of the CSD. However, wasn't it obvious that the article's subject clearly fails to meet the GNG? I mean, a quick google turns up nothing, and yet you moved, tagged, and removed CSD notification. It seems like you could have googled the subject to see if they were even notable before doing all that, and, failing to meet any notability guideline, nominate it for deletion. It just seems quite inefficient to make someone else have to come along and do that when you were already on the page. --Fbifriday (talk) 06:47, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- Also, I'm sorry if it seems like I'm being harsh. That's not my intention at all. It was just a question that I might have worded wrongly, but it's a legitimate question I have.--Fbifriday (talk) 06:51, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- That was the reason why I put an {{unreferencedBLP}} tag on. With my new CSD installation, I can't do BLP PRODs automatically anymore, but it would show up in the database logs and be converted to a PROD BLP. The article claims notability, and yet the verifiability isn't there yet. Logan Talk Contributions 06:55, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

Brittany Dawn Brannon
Hi Logan, may I remind you that A1 and A3 tags should not be applied in the first moments after an article is created? You tagged Brittany Dawn Brannon the same moment it was created, and the newbie who created it has not made a second edit. ϢereSpielChequers 09:46, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
- It did not provide enough context to identify the subject of the article. Perhaps it was too quick of a tagging, but it was a proper tagging. Logan Talk Contributions 13:35, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
- Well the article did include the words "Miss Arizona USA 2011" which was quite sufficient context for me to uniquely identify this lady. But my concern was the speed of the tagging. Special:NewPages does say:
- "don't bite the newcomers: cleanup tagging within minutes of creation can discourage new users. Consider using Friendly to welcome newcomers, and placing {{uw-draftfirst}} on their talk page if a first effort needs deleting
- articles should not be tagged for speedy deletion as having no context (CSD A1) or no content (CSD A3) moments after creation, as not all users will place all their information in their first revision"
- Regards ϢereSpielChequers 01:47, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi
You have just relisted the debate on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ticket of leave (British military)
I made a long post on the MilHist talk pages here asking for help from a Milhist admin, but none was forthcoming. Could you possibly read the post there and see if you can perhaps amend the decision on the AfD?
I think I may have incorrectly listed it as it seems that the consensus was that the merge should be done, but obviously that is not my decision :¬)
I also had a page waiting to do a non-admin closure at 22:30 User:Chaosdruid/sandbox1 but got into two heavy editing sessions which I have only just finished so missed the opportunity lol

"The username appears to be promotional. Use of a company, organization, celebrity, or product name as a username is prohibited by the username policy. Please choose another name. Logan Talk Contributions 00:43, 28 February 2011 (UTC)"
It's not a promotional name of any company of product, just a handle that was bestowed on me years ago by a friend that I use for most of my web related stuff. I want to make the "i" in "Inc" a capital as I somehow missed that when I signed up.
