Along with getting the year wrong in the newsletter that went out earlier this week, we did not mention (as the bot did not report) that Cas Liber (submissions) claimed the first Featured Article Persoonia terminalis of the 2016 Wikicup. Beginner help
Hi Liance, and thank you for your quick review today. I've tried to fix the references, but this is my first translation of a wikipedia article, and I'm not quite sure i understand what "lead sentence missing" really means. I could't find a lead sentence in the original article, and I've tried to look at other similar wiki pages, but without much insight gained. Could you give me an example of what I need to do? Hello Liance,
Thank you for reviewing my article. I wanted to include Rentberry to Wikipedia because it is actually the first platform which offers transparent bidding on rentals. It is surely one of a kind, revolutionary platform which is very notable. Let me know if I can do anything else to facilitate the submission process! Thank you very much!

Dear wiki/editor/Lance, How are you, today? I've read your comments & on my article live biography. I really accepted your comments constructively, as per wikipedia.org/article compliance standard which you indicated did not meet the wiki standard at this time. However, you indicated areas where my anomalies will be fixed. Paradoxically, i've focused on the references & external links which are my major areas of deficiencies. I,ve with meticulous, carefully revamped, modified these areas of your comments with renaming my user: names & articles still bears the avalanche of the original contents with expansion & new opened categories/subcategories. Please, i'm requesting another "review" of the similarly article with residual changes focused mostly on the titled which elicits the primarily "article live biography" "references & external links" I therefore placed this request for your another "review". I will like you or any other wiki editor, who may have the chance, since you gentlemen & ladies are very busy editing other articles; in this light therefore, I implore you, please, review this article requested from wiki accepted edit/contributor. Thank you. (message originally by User:Dr. Anthony Jones Okafor Offu.)

Help in improving the Her Story Draft
Hello,
I was wondering if you could help me to correctly edit the Her Story page I am trying to put up. I am new to wikipedia and have already tried to remove references from the article that were considered unreliable by Wikipedia. However, my attempts so far have not been successful!
This is the draft: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Her_Story_(documentary)
I'm sure any tips you could give me would be helpful.
Thanks very much!

Declined article "Max Headrooming" curious as to exactly why you declined it
Hello Liance I'm Robert Haazen (Username Ezee Posse) I am curious as to why you rejected my article "Max Headrooming", I am new to all this so please forgive my ignorance if any. You say that articles need verified and such like. But what about articles that make debut show on here, there won't be any way of verifying anything because the article is the first of its kind. Now as much as most of us know that the TV character Max Headroom did exist at one point. The item explains about a video lag and/or glitch that I personally nic named "The Max Headroom effect" and wanted some form of way to make it official that it was myself who coined the idea and no one else. I have seen many times where people take credit for things that they are not responsible for creating which leaves out the actual creator of what ever item, term or saying that they created. I wanted to put my name on the term/saying "Max Headrooming" so if it did catch on and in years or decades that someone wished to research it and find out where the saying came from that it would lead back to me as the creator first ever posted in Wikipedia. How am I supposed to be able to do this when there is nothing to reference it as this will be the first ever reference to the subject that could then be used to verify other people who may write about it if my saying caught on. How do other people with similar ideas manage to post their creations here as a first foot into making something theirs. Could you advise me on how to do this and what changes I would need to do to my original article to have it allowed publicly on Wikipedia for all to see and read about it. I wish no one no harm or anything, I just want my name on something that I come up with first instead of some other person doing so without me and to find they take all the credit for something I did. I don't mean to seem like a pain in the ass with all this. I just want to somehow make my little mark on the world and have proof it was me who did it. I know you probably have a back log of items to get through so I will wait for as long as it takes for you to get to me in regards to this.
Thank you for your attention.

Race Car Replicas page
Thanks for the suggestions about improving the article. I removed the references to wikipedia in most of the cases, and replaced them with external links.
As to notability, please see the Kit Cars wikipedia page[1], and the dead reference to Race Car Replicas. A similar company, Factory Five Racing [2], also has a page that is referenced from the Kit Car article, and I loosely modeled the RCR page on that already-approved page.

I don't know if this is redundant- I'm still a noob in terms of article creation, and I think I have already answered these questions elsewhere. But if not, here are the responses:
The two stated reasons for rejection were a lack of notability and inadequate external references.
Re the notability issue, Race Car Replicas has a link to a dead page from the Kit Cars page. Another company, much like RCR, is Factory Five Racing. They are also linked from the Kit Cars page, and have their own article.
My submission for the RCR page was to add an article in the same vein as that of the Factory Five article, as they are very similar companies in the same general marketplace (though one serves the lower-end, and one the higher end).
The existing Factory Five article also has relatively sparse external references- I think the one I submitted has more.
I tried to replace internal references to the RCR page with externals where it made sense to me. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.
Thanks!

The statement is not new but is feared by many professionals to be a threat to job security. Only some have dared to mention it openly. There are references. It is the most agreed modern view, but a silent back room consensus.
To make this fly, what is needed besides references to establish it as the modern view among scientist today?

New Page Review needs your help
Hi Liance,
As an AfC reviewer you're probably aware that a new user right has been created for patrolling new pages (you might even have been granted the right already, and admins have it automatically).
Since July there has been a very serious backlog at Special:NewPagesFeed of over 14,000 pages, by far the worst since 2011, and we need an all out drive to get this back down to just a few hundred that can be easily maintained in the future. Unlike AfC, these pages are already in mainspace, and the thought of what might be there is quite scary. There are also many good faith article creators who need a simple, gentle push to the Tea House or their pages converted to Draft rather than being deleted.
Although New Page Reviewing can occasionally be somewhat more challenging than AfC, the criteria for obtaining the right are roughly the same. The Page Curation tool is even easier to use than the Helper Script, so it's likely that most AfC reviewers already have more than enough knowledge for the task of New Page Review.
It is hoped that AfC reviewers will apply for this right at WP:PERM and lend a hand. You'll need to have read the page at WP:NPR and the new tutorial.

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
Hello, Liance. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

In rejecting my revised draft page on Reading Hebrew Congregation today, you highlighted notability and the independence and substantive nature of sources. It may be that the source "Portrait of a Community" appeared not to be independent of the Congregation. I have confirmed
that it was written, published and paid for independently of the Congregation. The text was approved by editors who were not the author or the Congregation. Copies were purchased by individuals. Sue Krisman, the author, is a professional author. The book of 80 pages cites and displays many original sources and discusses the Congregation directly and in great detail. Reading Hebrew Congregation has been in existence for the entire period of the organised Jewish community in Reading, has many unique features and believe is sufficiently notable to justify its own Wikipedia page. Please can you advise what more I need to do to make the page acceptable.

Please explain why you deleted inclusion of two newly invented squat exercises?
Hello Liance,
Can you please help me understand why my edits on the Squats (Exercise) Wiki were deleted? The SmithShaper Squat and the SmithShaper Wall Facing Squat are in fact two new types of squats made possible by a newly invented and patent pending wearable rolling wall exerciser known as the SmithShaper Ab & Squat Roller. These are completely different that "Smith Machine" squats and forward facing wall squats. Maybe that was the confusion. Let me know.

In response to your message on my talk page
Hello Moraleslou. I removed your edits on Squat (exercise) because I felt that the two entries you added to the list were not as established as the other entries. On Wikipedia, content must be significantly covered and established, and I felt that those two squats you added weren't very established. If you have any more questions, please feel free to contact me again on my talk page. -Liancetalk/contribs 22:28, 22 November 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for your response. I understand and agree. I will check back in a year or two, if and when the SmithShaper squat routines become more mainstream and established.

New page reviewer granted
Hello Liance. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.
- Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
- Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
- Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 04:10, 25 November 2016 (UTC)

New Page Review - newsletter No.2
- A HUGE backlog
We now have 810 New Page Reviewers!
Most of us requested the user right at PERM, expressing a wish to be able to do something about the huge backlog, but the chart on the right does not demonstrate any changes to the pre-user-right levels of October.
The backlog is still steadily growing at a rate of 150 a day or 4,650 a month. Only 20 reviews a day by each reviewer over the next few days would bring the backlog down to a managable level and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
It didn't work in time to relax for the Xmas/New Year holidays. Let's see if we can achieve our goal before Easter, otherwise by Thanksgiving it will be closer to 70,000.
- Second set of eyes
Remember that we are the only guardians of quality of new articles, we alone have to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged by non-Reviewer patrollers and that new authors are not being bitten.
- Abuse
This is even more important and extra vigilance is required considering Orangemoody, and
- this very recent case of paid advertising by a Reviewer resulting in a community ban.
- this case in January of paid advertising by a Reviewer, also resulting in a community ban.
- This Reviewer is indefinitely blocked for sockpuppetry.

List of International Schools in Rome - Acorn House - Rejected
Hi there Liance, I wonder why the draft I have submitted, Acorn House International School was rejected as this page was created to add an existing school to the page of international schools in Rome and international schools in Italy. Both list are filled with other schools whose notability may be arguable, however the idea behind my submission is to complete the list of international schools to readers looking for this kind of information on Wikipedia.
If this doesn't makes sense, both the categories above should be removed.

Are draft articles started by an establshed editor (me) subject to publication by anyone, regardless of status? I had an article published from Draft before I was done when Draft was first started, and thereafter I have alwasys developed new artices in my sandbox. I see you are active in this regard, and seek your advice, now that I have a Draft article Draft:SplashData by my own mistake. No hurry, article is barely started.--Dthomsen8 (talk) 13:33, 14 April 2017 (UTC)

Hi Liance,
You rejected an article I submitted based on notability. This was the first article I wrote and I tried to follow the rules meticulously including citing several different published books.
The person I was writing about James Durgavel Irving, was prominent in his time and was the founder of what is now a I believe a multi-billion corporation in Atlantic Canada. The family, the Irvings, and their many companies are the subjects of many other pages that are poorly written and don't follow the wiki rules (see a partial list below), so I decided to read as much as I can and take on the project starting with the person and history about how this all began. It is a very interesting and relevant story that spans 150 years that has been documented and cited in several books from various authors as well as in newspaper articles.
https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/K._C._Irving https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Irving_Group_of_Companies https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=J._D._Irving&action=history https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Irving_Oil
Below is my clarification of the intros and all the citations below it.
Can you let me know more specifically why it would not be considered worthy of a wiki page or if it should simply be part of one of the other poorly written pages that are already online?
Many thanks!
SUBJECT James Durgavel Irving James Durgavel Irving (1860-1933) was the founder of J.D. Irving Limited, a privately-owned, vertically integrated Canadian business that is now in its fourth generation of family leadership. He was the father of K.C. Irving, one of Canada's leading industrialists and entrepreneurs who built the company into one of the largest corporations in Atlantic Canada, with business interests that span from forestry to shipbuilding, transportation to consumer goods.
• 1 Early life and family
James Durgavel Irving was born in Galloway, Kent County[1], New Brunswick in 1860 to Herbert Irving and wife Catherine Durgavel. One of seven children, he was the fifth born and second son. [2]
James Durgavel Irving grew up on a farm in the New Brunswick forest between the Richibucto and Bouctouche rivers. He became known as J.D. to distinguish himself from other Irvings in the area.[3]
In 1881, at 21 years of age, J.D. Irving left home, bought a small sawmill and settled in Bouctouche, New Brunswick, a village surrounded by forest, farmland, river and sea. [4]
In 1884, J.D. married his first wife Minnie Irving(nee Hutchison).[5]. They had three children, one who died in infancy. Minnie Irving died in 1889 at age twenty-five. He later married Mary Elizabeth Gifford, and had three children including Kenneth Colin Irving, born in 1899. [6]
2. J.D. Irving Limited
In 1882, J.D. Irving Limited was established in Bouctouche, New Brunswick. The original holdings included a sawmill, gristmill, carding mill, a general store, lumber business and a farm. J.D. also marketed fish and other produce.[7]
Between 1882 and 1900, J.D.'s company letterhead listed its activities as general store, lumbermill, gristmill operator and fish dealer.[8]
The December 1912 edition of the Maritime Farmer commended J.D. for his use of vertical integration, producing things in one enterprise that would feed another.[9]
J.D.Irving died on June 6, 1933, during the Great Depression.[10] The company owned a sawmill, the family store in Bouctouche and some woodlands in Kent County. [11] His son Kenneth Colin Irving (K.C.) acquired full ownership of J.D. Irving Limited, buying out his siblings. [12]
From the 1930’s to the 1970’s, K.C. Irving expanded and diversified the company his father J.D. had spent his lifetime building, through vertical integration. [13]
Today J.D. Irving Limited business interests include forestry and forest products, consumer products, agriculture, food processing, transportation and logistics, shipbuilding and fabrication, retail and distribution, industrial equipment and construction. Headquartered in Saint John, New Brunswick, it is often referred to as JDI.[14]
3. Legacy
J.D. Irving’s name lives on today, as J.D. Irving Limited continues to be a family-run company, now led by members of its fourth generation.[15]

New Page Review - Newsletter No.4
Since rolling out the right in November, just 6 months ago, we now have 810 reviewers, but the backlog is still mysteriously growing fast. If every reviewer did just 55 reviews, the 22,000 backlog would be gone, in a flash, schwoop, just like that!
But do remember: Rather than speed, quality and depth of patrolling and the use of correct CSD criteria are essential to good reviewing. Do not over-tag. Make use of the message feature to let the creator know about your maintenance tags. See the tutorial again HERE. Get help HERE.
Stay up to date with recent new page developments and have your say, read THIS PAGE.
