Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello Legende Legende, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to Hongwu Emperor have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Zanhe (talk) 19:44, 20 April 2019 (UTC)
ARBIPA sanctions alert
[edit]This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

[edit]Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
I noticed your recent edit to Sino-Indian War does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.
Edit summary content is visible in:
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Kautilya3 (talk) 09:51, 21 April 2019 (UTC)
Hello, I'm LizardJr8. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Bighorn sheep have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the help desk. Thanks. LizardJr8 (talk) 17:14, 21 April 2019 (UTC)

. S Philbrick(Talk) 19:57, 21 April 2019 (UTC)Disambiguation link notification for April 22
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Han (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 12:22, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Boxer Protocol, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 11:24, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
Thank you. I will read them!--Legende Legende (talk) 11:24, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
Legende Legende Pls do not removed sourced content in a such a fashion. If you disagreed with the sourced content, then bring the disucssion to the article talk page. If you want to present a different view, then find the sources and add the info in so there are due weight content. Thank you

. Doug Weller talk 09:45, 26 April 2019 (UTC)No, I have been warned and blocked for several times now. A ban for few months is fine. I will try to ask for unban in 2-3 months.--Legende Legende (talk) 18:35, 26 April 2019 (UTC)
I have been banned for more then 6 months from making contribution to Wikipedia. I have learned my lessons and think that I deserve a new chance? I will make only contributions with a good and strong source should I receive an unban. So I want to apply for an unban? Legende Legende (talk) 11:29, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

Request reason:
I have asked for an unban three weeks ago via the talk page and have also send an e-mail with a request for an unban. I have been banned since 10 June 2019. Maybe someone wants to consider my request and give a reply? Legende Legende (talk) 22:52, 14 January 2020 (UTC)
Decline reason:
Procedural decline. Request was original not formatted correctly and so not included in relevant categories. Formatting was fixed by a seemingly unrelated editor who has since been blocked for sockpuppetry, about a year and half after the fact. The properly formatted request below was made and reviewed after this one. Sir Sputnik (talk) 03:25, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- Your above request was not properly formatted (it is missing a bracket) which is why no one has responded. Please make a new, properly formatted request. 331dot (talk) 08:36, 20 January 2020 (UTC)

Decline reason:
In order to lift the block, we need to be certain that you understand how copyright works on Wikipedia. To allow the reviewing administrator to assess your understanding, please respond to the following questions in your next unblock appeal, explaining in your own words:
- What is copyright?
- How is Wikipedia licenced?
- Why is copyrighted content not allowed on Wikipedia?
- Under what circumstances can we use copyrighted content?
- How do you intend to avoid violating the copyright policy in the future?
Your answers will enable us to establish whether or not you should be unblocked. Yamla (talk) 11:25, 20 January 2020 (UTC)
