Hi Leah, well you know, concerning old man Charlie, he has only nine entries for a discography page, plus none of those have any article links! I don't know, hmm..., lest we get some of these turned into articles! Best, --Discographer (talk) 20:58, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
Hi Leah, I don't know if you realise this, but none of the Stones have seperate discography pages! Articles on discography would have to be created for Mick, Keith, Ronnie, Charlie, and Bill if we were to have one on Mick Taylor. Most don't really have enough (info) for this, so even if we attempted it, it just might not work out! Best, --Discographer (talk) 22:12, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
Okay, let's see... except for Eric Clapton, both Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker don't even have their own separate discography articles. Some time ago, I think, we had talked about one for Jack, and one for Ginger, and even one for Mick. I'm thinking you're interested in guys from Suffolk, East Anglia! Anyway, might you have some photos we can use, then maybe we can do this or something! Best, --Discographer (talk) 22:46, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

Hey Leah, Here's a musical star in recognition of all your contributions to the musician articles. We have crossed paths on Derek Trucks, Shawn Colvin and Chris Whitley, I look forward to working together more in the future! Re: Please see the following
Thanks for the ehads up. I edited Anayampatti S. Ganesan so it is not a copyvio. I will assume good faith on the print refs cited, so he seems to meet notability.
As for Garo Gaboudagian, he does not seem to meet notability. The web site listed is just his Facebook page, and a Google search on news found zero hits for him. I put a speedy tag on his article and will delete it later today or tomorrow if no one disputes it. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 18:46, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Leah. Looks like it has been deleted. --Timeshifter (talk) 19:05, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
- I still go to talk pages. It's a partial strike. :) I may even do the occasional article edit. I need to upload and add a photo to an article, for example. --Timeshifter (talk) 13:28, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
Re: Keira Knightley
Hi Leah, good spot on this one. I've done a WP:GAR on it, see Talk:Keira Knightley/GA1. If it isn't much better in a week, I'll delist it from GA status. Wasted Time R (talk) 17:54, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
- He is notable because he was in BC's parliament. He clearly meets notability guidelines. The no references is a different story. If the article was created recently, then a BLPprod would be in order. However, it was created a long time ago. Type in "Dennis Mackay" "British Columbia" into Google and you have your references.
- Don't mistake references=notable per different the different politician/sport/musician guidelines. Do equate references=notable only per WP:GNG.
- Also, the WikiProject Biography banner does not include the priority parameter. Instead, use the musician-priority, politician-priority, sports-priority, etc parameters.
- I think you have it worse dealing with musicians. Every rapper who puts out a mixtape or every singer who self publishes an "album" adds up to alot misery on your part. Bgwhite (talk) 06:16, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
David Gans
Hello. Just a quick tip for you. David Gans was a 16th century mathematician, historian, astronomer, and astrologer, so he didn't take any photographs of rock musicians. You mean David Gans (musician). :-|) — Mudwater (Talk) 01:17, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
Re: your move of links. I don't see that these are all sources for the article. It could be that the articles should be placed in a "Further Reading" section, but sample audio and video are not sources. Plus, I see no precedent for putting this type of material on a discussion page.Pkeets (talk) 15:11, 17 March 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for April 4
Hi. When you recently edited Blues Music Award, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages John Hammond and Living Proof (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hey there I'm bored today, anything on your plate you need a little help with? Some copy editing or clean up on a music article? -- — Keithbob • Talk • 17:53, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Leah, Thanks for the response. I know there a thousand million things that need to be done on Wikipedia there's a list upon list of articles that need to be clean up, referenced, copy edited, deleted, peer reviewed, reviewed for GA status, noticeboards, arbitration, third opinions, RfC's, AfD's and the lists go on and on. What I kind of enjoy though is working on music articles which I thought was kind of your specialty AND I was wanting to work with you on something you had currently underway. Kind of a Wikipedia tea time or something. It was just a fleeting thought. One I didn't express too clearly I guess. Anyway keep up the good work. If you need a hand with something small and musical sometime, give a shout :-) -- — Keithbob • Talk • 00:30, 11 April 2012 (UTC)
Your questions
Hi Leah and hope you've been doing well. No, I don't know how to create song clips or fix photos for Commons. I can place the song clips and photos in the article - that's about all. I had hoped to have more time to help you with some of the articles but my time for editing lately is sporadic and limited but we'll see - maybe soon. All the best, Agadant (talk) 03:04, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

Okay.... That should be it set up. You shouldn't have to manually archive anything from now on. You may find that messages that haven't been signed properly don't get archived unless you reply to them. Catfish Jim and the soapdish 21:58, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

I saw that you started to move things about on your user page, then gave up... if you're looking for a redesign, I can help to an extent... I've put together something at User:Catfish Jim and the soapdish/test design. It's not finished, obviously. Catfish Jim and the soapdish 12:35, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
- I'm still playing with it... I like it so much, I almost deleted the above message and took the user page for myself! I've removed the barnstars etc to collapsible boxes... the page looks a lot cleaner without them and I think it gives the page a bit more authority.
- I've made the collapsible link to your commons list a bit more prominent by placing it above the text relating to the gallery. I'll probably tinker with it a bit more. Catfish Jim and the soapdish 22:23, 24 April 2012 (UTC)

Photo retouching
Hi Leahtwosaints. I would be more than happy to help you fix the photos. Because there are so many photos that need fixing, you should perhaps make a list of all the photos that need to be fixed and post it first in the Wikipedia:Graphic Lab in hope that more people would help fix these photos together. Unfortunately, in the recent days and in the following 6 weeks I am taking a long trip, and therefore I do not have my Photoshop nearby to help you fix the photos. Nevertheless, when I return I promise to help you fix them. TheCuriousGnome (talk) 08:35, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
- If you can prepare a list of all the photos that need to be fixed and state in the list what exact fix is needed to each photo - then I myself can potentially bring this list to the nice and helpful guys at Wikipedia:Graphic Lab so that we would collaboratively fix all of them sooner than later. TheCuriousGnome (talk) 14:44, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
- Please let me know when you finish the list. TheCuriousGnome (talk) 21:54, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

Needing Wiki contribution assistance!
Greetings Leahtwosaints,
I am looking for an experienced Wikipedian to contribute an article for our band Mr. Meeble. I have checked and we meet the Wikipedia "notability" guidelines for a band. We have a very basic Wikipedia article written already, but I know that someone like yourself may be able to point out our formatting errors and critical omissions. You can hear our music and see our videos here:

Let me know if you would be willing to help!

Hey partner, quick question. Is there any guideline on what qualifies as an "associated act" in the info box of a musical BLP? Seems like if they have coffee with someone or drink beer and play guitar together on the porch they become an associated act. Hello from the Help Project, and welcome to the second issue of our newsletter! The biggest project I've been working on this month has been a large survey of users to find out what they think of our current help pages. Preliminary results from this are now available, although there are more responses trickling in from the lower edit count groups since a batch of email invitations were recently sent out. Finalised results and further analysis should be posted next week. Any comments or suggestions for future issues are welcome at Wikipedia:Help Project/Newsletter. If you don't wish to receive this newsletter on your talk page in future then just edit the participants page and add "no newsletter" next to your name. |

Hey Leah, if you have any time, could you look over this article. I'm having to constantly monitor it for edits by User:Sensibilitymusic (a SPA using the name of the Civil War's record company, whose President/owner and is the husband of one of the members of the duo) and a couple of IP's that geo locate to Nashville where The Civil Wars and Sensibility Music reside. Orphaned non-free media (File:Whos Driving Your Plane.jpg)
Thanks for uploading File:Whos Driving Your Plane.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:04, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

Leah, I hope you're not asking for any discography pages out of these articles, because at the moment, that's highly improbable due to lack of information and not having any links! Best, --Discographer (talk) 17:23, 27 July 2012 (UTC)
Matt Wilson
They're different guys :/ This [1] is a piece on Trip Shakespeare with a photo, and Matt Wilson is the guy on the left of the pic. The Matt Wilson in your photo is a Phil Lynott wannabe who used to front a Thin Lizzy tribute band called Tizz Lizzy. With the real Lizzy seemingly back on the up, the tribute bands are having a hard time, with only Limehouse Lizzy finding any success, I think. You're right about the Robbo pics - we need an older one. Keeping my eyes peeled :) Bretonbanquet (talk) 22:24, 29 July 2012 (UTC)

Help Project newsletter : Issue 3
The Help Project Newsletter Issue III - August 2012 | |
|
Welcome to the (slightly delayed) third issue of the Help Project newsletter. The past month has once again been a busy one for my fellowship. The full results and conclusions from the extensive user survey on help pages are now available, and make interesting reading. These do confirm a number of our suspicions about Wikipedia help, and suggest that the current plan for the remainder of the fellowship is a sound approach. Also last month I was fortunate enough to attend Wikimania 2012 in Washington DC, where I gave a presentation about help pages and the aforementioned survey results. You can find the slides from this on Commons. Wikimania was also a great opportunity for many discussions with staff and community members, and these brought up some interesting ideas which I hope to follow up on. One of the things much discussed was the planned tutorial pages. I've been working on a new design for them which can be seen at User:The wub/sandbox/1, please let me know what you think (especially if you spot any bugs!). Any comments or suggestions for future issues are welcome at Wikipedia:Help Project/Newsletter. If you don't wish to receive this newsletter on your talk page in future then just edit the participants page and add "no newsletter" next to your name. |
Hi, I was told that you was real good on R&B articles. I wonder if you can help me out with the article on Marvin Gaye. I got told the article in the way it's posted is not qualified for a "good/featured article" and I wonder if you can help with any citations or whatever with the article to make it look more suitable for a good/featured article nomination. Thanks. BrothaTimothy (talk · contribs) 21:38, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah I did work with other experienced article editors in the past. I've been thinking of fixing the What's Going On page and its subsequent single articles for a long time. BrothaTimothy (talk · contribs) 22:59, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
- Also I have to say, another reason why I wanted other people to edit is because the one who had worked on it with me had left his position and no one else has really edited it real good so sometimes I'm the only one doing it. BrothaTimothy (talk · contribs) 23:05, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
Eight Miles High & American Pie
Hiya Leah! Good to hear from you. The referrance to "Eight Miles High" in the song "American Pie" isn't mentioned on the main Byrds article, because it's probably a bit trivial for that particular article. However, it is mentioned in the "Eight Miles High" article (which I recently brought up to Good Article status) in this section. Anyway, I hope you're happy & well! --Kohoutek1138 (talk) 11:20, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
