|
- Please leave a new message. I won't bite newcomers. Please do not eMail me regarding Wikipedia matters.
- I respond to everything here that requires attention here, so do watchlist this page.
- Please do not template me using a level 1 warning - I don't appreciate being welcomed when I have, under various aliases, been editing here since 22 May 2008 (and using this one since 7 March 2013). Slosh me round the chops with a wet trout instead. Any other templates are fine to use.
- Most discussion boards - AfD, ANI etc. - requires that you notify me of any discussion I should be aware of - DON'T bother. Tag me with {{u|Launchballer}} on the page instead, or in some cases even the fact that there is a deletion template on the page should flag up on my watchlist.
- I divide archives by year and then by every 100 posts.

Disambiguation link notification for March 25
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited J Hus, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Stratford. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Page mover granted
[edit]Hello, Launchballer. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, and move subpages when moving the parent page(s).
Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect
is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.
Useful links:
- Wikipedia:Requested moves
- Category:Articles to be moved, for article renaming requests awaiting action.
If you do not want the page mover right anymore, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Thank you, and happy editing! ~ Rob13Talk 16:57, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
MfD nomination of Wikipedia:Timeshift channels
[edit]Wikipedia:Timeshift channels, a page which you created or substantially contributed to (or which is in your userspace), has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Timeshift channels and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Wikipedia:Timeshift channels during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. – Train2104 (t • c) 17:19, 6 April 2017 (UTC)

Hello, Launchballer. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Narayan (song), for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:
- edit the page
- remove the text that looks like this:
{{proposed deletion/dated...}}
- save the page
Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

ArbCom 2017 election voter message
[edit]Hello, Launchballer. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

However, that won't work, as it exceeds by 5 the limit of 255 characters. Possible workarounds:
- use a shorter font name
- include bold or italics, which paradoxically allow for shorter declarations:

- I really can't take a diatribe on signatures seriously from a user who's signed his post twice. In theory, Launchballer should work, and I am at a loss as to why my Preferences tells me "Invalid raw signature. Check HTML tags.".--Launchballer 22:48, 29 December 2017 (UTC)

: Launchballer has the least impact. I've changed it to that. I've got to say, is it displaying in Rockwell Extra Bold for you? It isn't for me. It should look like the font used on my website.--Launchballer 19:31, 30 December 2017 (UTC)

- Mm. I've just spotted one thing about the signature I don't quite like but can probably live with; the "chba" is underlined on this page, when it doesn't link anywhere. Still, could be worse. Draft:Matthew S - 13 November 2018
[edit]Congratulations for your articles, could I submit mine? I'm new to wikipedia and I need a support! Thank you so much! --Kiodos (talk) 10:06, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
Hi Thomas, I'm Marco (Kiodos on Wikipedia)! I've just started writing on Wikipedia. I am very happy to be able to help this website. I only need your support to start positively!
I readed your articles, wow, really good job! I finded you with article about Rachel K Collier.
I did a considerable amount of research to find all the articles, there are Italian and foreign articles about this artist. I would like to create articles about artists winning important contests. He won an MTV award. This is the article: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Matthew_S I hope you can help me! Thanks so much!
- Will you please not contact me via any medium other than Wikipedia, I am a busy man with barely enough energy as is. Have some patience. Draft space is notoriously exclusionist and will only accept an article if it's perfect; you might be able to get away with just moving it straight there.--Launchballer 22:47, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
Ok, no problem, thanks! --Kiodos (talk) 23:10, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
When will you be free you could help me in this article? I would like to end it and confirm its publication. Thank you so much! --Kiodos (talk) 23:35, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
- I've only just seen this. I also see it has already been published. You shouldn't have any further problems.--Launchballer 17:55, 23 November 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: What the Hell Is Going On?
[edit]Hello Launchballer. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of What the Hell Is Going On?, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: coverage in reliable sources and release on notable label indicate significance (A9 requires both lack of significance *and* lack of an artist's article). Thank you. SoWhy 07:05, 24 April 2020 (UTC)
Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution
[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Fox (band) into Noosha Fox. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 23:00, 24 April 2020 (UTC)

DYK for North Cheam tube station
[edit]On 8 May 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article North Cheam tube station, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Northern line, which already served the southernmost station on the London Underground, was proposed to be extended southward to North Cheam in 1946? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/North Cheam tube station. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, North Cheam tube station), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
