[edit]Hi Karan Gandhi Arch! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Norwich 12 that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Jeraxmoira (talk) 13:28, 11 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hi!
- The edit involved changing 'Concept' to 'Project' and a few other grammar edits. I now understand what minor edits means. Still fairly new to this!
- Thanks for the information, will keep in mind. Karan Gandhi Arch (talk) 13:34, 11 August 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for your contribution nevertheless! It was a good edit. SilverLocust 💬 13:43, 11 August 2023 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Tacyarg. I noticed that you recently removed content from Christopher Charles Benninger without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. You removed the short description - I have put it back. Tacyarg (talk) 12:37, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hi!
- I removed the Short Description by mistake while trying to add links in the introduction. Thanks for reverting the change!
- Will be more careful in the future. Thanks! Karan Gandhi Arch (talk) 12:39, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
- I have restored the short description on Vincent Callebaut as well. It will be easier to revert/ undo when you make a mistake if you have separate edits for each section/ adding references etc. Happy editing <3 Jeraxmoira (talk) 12:57, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
- That makes a lot of sense. Thanks! Karan Gandhi Arch (talk) 12:58, 16 August 2023 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Karan Gandhi Arch. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Christopher Charles Benninger, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. As you have mentioned in your userpage, [1], that Christopher Charles Benninger is your mentor. I think there is a COI issue here Jeraxmoira (talk) 13:34, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @Jeraxmoira,
- Thanks for your message. I have gone through the COI pages.
- The issue is this:
- Earlier, someone at Benninger's organization attempted to add information without realizing that the content they had put was not up to Wikipedia standards due to the promotional language.
- After seeing the content flagged up, he has asked me to look into it as I had some prior experience of using Wikipedia.
- As mentioned on my profile I am trying to clean up the article and make it up to Wikipedia's standards. Hence, I have also disclosed the same on my user page.
- I will strive to ensure that my edits are as unbiased as possible. Rather than editing for the purpose of advertising, I am attempting to remove the promotional language. Karan Gandhi Arch (talk) 13:44, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
- Per WP:COIE: You can only post suggestions and sources on the article's talk page, or in your user space. And I am not sure what is the right course of action from here so I am going to mention couple of admins who will know better. Mentioning Liz & Diannaa. Jeraxmoira (talk) 15:11, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
- According to Wikipedia's terms of use, if you are being paid to edit the article, you must say so. — Diannaa (talk) 16:14, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @Diannaa thanks for your message!
- No, I am not getting paid to edit the article, Benninger is a professor at my college and a mentor. 2402:8100:3196:8710:3912:FA96:2078:FD1A (talk) 16:20, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
It was clearly explained above
- "Per WP:COIE: You can only post suggestions and sources on the article's talk page, or in your user space."
You have totally ignored this and have continued to edit the article directly, including multiple unsourced claims. This article has suffered from numerous COI editors in the past, hence the warning at the top of the article. Please stop editing the article directly. - Arjayay (talk) 13:10, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
- Okay.
- However, do review the changes before undoing them. Correct citations have been added and the article has been made more compliant with Wikipedia's MoS. Karan Gandhi Arch (talk) 13:16, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
- Henceforth I am only suggesting changes on the Talk Page Karan Gandhi Arch (talk) 13:16, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
C.C.B.
[edit]I have taken your suggestions and my own intuition and have edited the page for Benninger. I have no need for a gift card, but I would love a barnstar, just go to my talk page and copy-paste the what to type portion of the table for whatever star you feel I deserve.
I am glad you didn't continue to edit the article and instead asked for help, that is pretty important on Wikipedia.
I can do stuff! (talk) 03:47, 9 January 2024 (UTC)
