Performing Twinkle-like reverts on mobile - when you don't have access to your PC - is extremely hard. Because anti vandalism scripts don't exist for mobile. They should not remove the extended cameos from Ka Pae Ranasingam, Annabelle Sethupathi, and Kadaisi Vivasayi because sources say they are extended cameos. Many of them are ambiguous, some are erroneously titled, and most deserve better titles for uniformity. Yes it is an "enormous project" as you say, but a ray of hope for those who cannot move files without leaving redirects. I am certain what I'm doing doesn't violate any policy. And then there are those like Favre1fan93‎ who use LuckyRename and leave no redirects, even though they can manually move files without leaving redirects. I don't anything about LuckyRename, there are so many editing tools these days. I don't mind taking care of the needless redirects and there are plenty of admins patrolling CSD categories who can take care of them as well. It's just when I see some ambitious project like this, involving hundreds of pages, I just like to check in and see what's going on. I don't work much with images/files at all so I can't pass judgment on whether this renaming is in line with policy, I'm more familiar with categories where we can have brand new editors decide to recategorize entire areas and it causes a lot of havoc because it can be done so quickly without any special permissions. But I've seen several admins handle these deletion requests and I'm the first one to ask questions so I assume it didn't raise any questions for them. Thanks for taking on a necessary and useful but less glamorous editing project! Months ago, I had a discussion with an editor who had resized and enhanced hundreds of thousands of image files who had done all of this work unacknowledged and I just think we should be grateful for editors toiling away, not on creating FA and GA articles but on less visible tasks that make things better for readers. My bitter experience at FACs with articles like Mullum Malarum and Sathi Leelavathi (thanks to Fowler&fowler and Laser brain) led me to stop pursuing FACs for life, and instead focus on making articles readable/reasonably sourced. Your file renames

Hello, Kailash. One of your actions using movefile came to my attention due to this G6 CSD nomination. That tag came following a move from File:Moonfall2022Poster.jpg to File:Moonfall film poster.jpg with the summary "Spaces". As you are probably aware, as a filemover you need to carry out moves pursuant to the file renaming criteria, but your aforementioned move explicitly fell under the examples of files that should not be renamed. Other examples of unnecessary moves include 129837205, 129767852, 129737035 (the log summary appears misleading), 129726049 etc from the last few days.

I appreciate that after holding filemover for four-and-a-half years, being told that your moves have been inappropriate is unpleasant. However, it is important to move files only when it is necessary. Please follow the renaming criteria in the future. Sdrqaz (talk) 20:56, 7 April 2022 (UTC)

Kailash, while what Fastily said is worth thinking about, whether a redirect is left behind and the moves themselves are separate issues. Having extendedmover is not relevant; it is the renames you are carrying out as a filemover that I am concerned about. Sdrqaz (talk) 11:08, 8 April 2022 (UTC)

• Well, this is unfortunate. Since I first noticed your questionable RFD nominations for redirects in the File: namespace about 3 or so years ago, I had hoped that you would have improved your judgement calls on when a File: namespace redirect should be deleted, but instead, it seems that you have found a way to almost game the system by getting leftover redirects speedy deleted instead of taking them to RFD ... which with your nominations, has usually resulted in "Keep". After reading Wikipedia talk:Criteria for speedy deletion#Does G6 apply to redirects created via page move in the file namespace? (which I highly recommend you continue participating in unless another more dire discussion appears), I decided to go here and leave you a related message, just to find this section already existing. At this point, I'm thinking that you probably need to request your File Mover user right be revoked and then prove your ability to understand the responsibilities of having that right by practicing using {{Rename media}} for file move requests. I mean, obviously, it's your call, but I think I have enough knowledge of your past File: namespace edits on RFD to file a WP:ANI report. Your call. Steel1943 (talk) 05:33, 14 April 2022 (UTC)

  I understand and I apologise, although most of the files I moved and redirects tagged for deletion were garbled/annoying filenames. Hey, nice work adding all those Kalki reviews and improving sourcing. The quality of Wikipedia is improving because of people like you. I wish there were more people like you that could help improve Wikipedia in all languages. This notable Malayalam film -- Gajakesariyogam -- does not have an article anymore. Would be of great help to add the New Indian Express review and rescue the sources. @DareshMohan: DRV is not needed when you've found new sources which establish notability, imv. Its required when you are disputing the closure itself. WP:G4 does not apply since the version you create would obviously be different. Article should be ready survive an AfD nonetheless (which takes the same time as deletion review) but it shouldn't be a concern when have good sources. -- Ab207 (talk) 08:58, 15 April 2022 (UTC)
