Hi, "Merge and redirect" is not "a clear keep", me thinks... --Guillaume2303 (talk) 09:16, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- There's no need (IMO) for a history merge here, merely that of any relevant fact to be merge and then redirected without deletion of history. As such this fulfils "This also extends to other clear closes in which the final task can be performed by a non-admin i.e. Redirect or Merge (when a history merge or deletion is not required)." KTC (talk) 09:22, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- I stand corrected :-) --Guillaume2303 (talk) 09:36, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
Camelford F.C.
Yeah that's fair enough, I never expected the PROD to stay to be honest. To be honest, taking it to AfD would probably be fighting a losing battle. I think that football clubs should have to meet the GNG just like any other subject but too many others disagree unfortunately. Cheers for letting me know about the de-PROD anyway. Thanks, BigDom 20:14, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

Will do. The school only existed for a year or so, but I've talked to the archivist in town and there was no connection of the school with the US Naval Academy. And the wikipedian who made the redirect has been gone from Wikipedia for over a year.Naraht (talk) 13:15, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
A second look
Hello. You have fixed a few of my mistakes in the past and seem knowledgable. I was hoping you could take a look at something that seems off and hopefully advise me on how to proceed. I nominated We'll Be Coming Back for deletion. My arguments may not have been the best, and the three others who joined in were in favor of keeping. Normally, a close in favor of keep would be fine in such a circumstance. The nomination, however, was open for less than a day and closed by an IP address that voted keep. A close with delete would generally be contested via deletion review. Should I go that route, re-nominate for deletion, or is there some other course of action I should take? I appreciate your time and judgement in this. --Nouniquenames (talk) 02:57, 9 July 2012 (UTC)
- It seems someone has re-opened the deletion discussion. --Nouniquenames (talk) 06:00, 9 July 2012 (UTC)
DYK for Scheme $6,000
On 11 July 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Scheme $6,000, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the Government of Hong Kong is giving HK$6,000 to approximately 6.1 million people through Scheme $6,000 due to record reserves from budget surplus? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Scheme $6,000. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

new article
Hello, I've written a new article yesterday but references were missing. I added them today but still don't know if everything is correct and if my article can be published. Could you help me ? Thank you very much. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ethic.intelligence (talk • contribs) 15:40, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
Special review request on AfC, NOT by the contributor
Hi KTC, I would like to ask a favour:
I don't want to appear to the contributor to be hounding him/her, nor do I actually want to do that.
I need an experienced reviewer to take a look at two articles (one, really, but it was resubmitted after a name change.)
If you are willing, on AfC you should find
- Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Michael_H_Madigan in the queue.
You should also be able to find its predecessor,
- Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Michael_Madigan, by the same contributor.
Please would you first
- check my assessment of the article as a reviewer, and check my comment/s; and then
- give me your opinion on whether this is likely to be an attempted avoidance of having a history of rejection, or just an accidental byproduct of the renaming. (I think it's accidental, but don't have enough experience to tell).
Please respond here, I will keep an eye out. Regards, David_FLXD (Talk) 18:18, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
- I wouldn't worry too much about the duplicate submissions. It happens all the time, usually they post exactly the same content on the same page when adding the {{AFC submission}} template. Sometimes they post it under different names, it's what the "dup" decline reason is for. I'll decline the other submission as well for failing WP:POLITICIAN. -- KTC (talk) 18:42, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
- (Further comment) Looking further back, you asked him to resubmit under an article name with initial so he did. With new users, it does often happens that they address only one issue and resubmit which is often the problem when a submission have multiple issue and a rejection only note one of them. Just keep reviewing and let them know what needs to be improved. -- KTC (talk) 18:52, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you. If you saw my comment ("You added an 'H'...") did you think I was too unkind? David_FLXD (Talk) 19:00, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
- It's fine, since that's exactly what happened. You're simply letting Wikpl1234 know that is not enough to go from rejection to acceptance. I've left similiar comments before when a resubmission is exactly the same as previous version that was rejected. KTC (talk) 19:11, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks very much, I'm happy. David_FLXD (Talk) 19:16, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

Ards
I removed the redirect in the page because there is no connection between the Ards Peninsula and the Abbey in Somerset. I am not concerned whether the Ards Peninsula abbeys page is deleted or not. But I am concerned that there was a spurious link between two unrelated locations. JohnArmagh (talk) 15:15, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

What specifically needs to be verified so I can add the appropriate references?
Thanks,

Your comments
You state that the entry did not look like an encylopedia entry, yet looking in Britanica's for Elks Club and Lions and Jaycees, which are all similar - are designed the same way, with the exception of links.
What gives? — Preceding unsigned comment added by DavePhillipson (talk • contribs) 04:53, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
I do not have any other 'sources' for verification. :(
Hello KTC, my article on a project, WikiG [live.wikimedia.in], was declined due to "unreliable sources". I do not get it. I have Wikipedia Signpost technological report as one of the references where this project by Wikimedia India is mentioned below in a statement. Also there is a reference to publication on wikimedia list. what more can i present as "reliable" sources?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shrey.gokani (talk • contribs) 06:32, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
Michael H Madigan
Thank you for input on my submission for "Michael H Madigan". http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Michael_H_Madigan As for notability, he is listed on Wiki's pages http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/United_States_House_of_Representatives_elections,_2012 page and http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/United_States_House_of_Representatives_elections_in_New_York,_2012 Michael H Madigan has received significant press coverage from Buffalo News, WKBW, WBEN among others. More each day as his polling numbers show its a close race. He is also listed on National Sites such as http://ballotpedia.org/wiki/index.php/Michael_Madigan,_New_York and FreedomWorks http://www.freedomworksforamerica.org/candidate/michael-madigan Federal Office Republicans of New York http://www.fornypac.com/NY_Candidates The National Republican Congressional Committee has taken notice of the race & Michael H Madigan is schedule for a 3 day conference July 30 - Aug 1. Please re-consider his notability. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikpl1234 (talk • contribs) 11:53, 25 July 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the timely fix for the redirect after merging the two articles. I had an email in to another editor for help, but you fixed it first. Thanks again. Bearpatch (talk) 15:30, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
Hi. You obviously have an account on wmuk:. The link at wmuk:Call for EGM 2012#Statement links to the Ukrainian Wikipedia (w:uk:User:Fæ) instead of to w:en:User:Fæ. Adding the "en:" will fix it right up. nb: on the #100 thing, it was nothing personal; I was just joking with Mark. And someone fixed it, by cutting-in higher up. Redirect blanking (tuberoid)
Hi KTC - it is obbious that that there is no logical connection between the two (tuberoid - an orchid tuber; and a product for haemorrhoids), therefore, if you know of a better way of doing it, please, be my guest - I don't. Rui ''Gabriel'' Correia (talk) 22:04, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
Parkview Grade Schools
Please read "Parkview Grade Schools" Talk Page. I apologize for accusing you of vandilism. My arguement is that the same page had existed for a long time as "Parkview Elementary Schools" and as soon as I moved it, it was suggested for deletion. I have gone so far as to consolidate all 3 schools onto one page. I minimized as much as I could and now I added many new references. Hopefully, we can come to an agreement. Thanks! '1 Angel Square' to 'One Angel Square'
Hi, I was having trouble with changing the '1 Angel Square' page to 'One Angel Square'. I created the page months ago and have improved it steadily with information and references. However, I was unsure whether the building was officially titled with a number or letter at the time. It is now known that the building is officially known as 'One Angel Square' - as shown in the official website [1] I have tried moving it to that page under the 'One' title but have had trouble and realised it would probably best to avoid complicating the situation and wait for a more experienced editor/admin to help. Would you be so kind to move the article to 'One Angel Square' and redirect the '1 Angel Square' page? Thanks. Stevo1000 (talk) 00:07, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
An AFD you participated in has been started again
List of UK Singles Chart Christmas number twos has been renominated by the same nominator 11 days after it closed as "no consensus". I'm contacting everyone who participated in the last AFD, who hasn't found their way there already. Dream Focus 21:19, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
My RfA
Thank you for participating in my RfA. I appreciate your insight and hope to use your comments as a benchmark from which I can improve upon my understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines.
Speaking of which, I have good news — I now get copyright! Mindblowing, eh? I can just feel the enthusiasm resonating throughout the bandwidth of this page. ;)
Anyways, take care. =) Kurtis (talk) 14:17, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for August 19
Hi. When you recently edited Anthony Joshua, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page AIBA (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
