Grade II* listed buildings in North Somerset

Hi Katie, Grade II* listed buildings in North Somerset is now looking nearly how I think it should - I just need to work on the sorting next. I think the refs could be done as part of the script. All I did was insert the name from the spreadsheet & UID as this is the only things which are different between each of the refs. One other thought as I was doing it.. could there be some differentiation between C for century and C for circa in the completed column?— Rod talk 15:21, 13 July 2013 (UTC)

Also.. do we need the full address eg "Birdcombe Court And Birdcombe Court Farmhouse, Tower House Lane, Wraxall And Failand" or "Birnbeck Pier, Birnbeck Pier, Weston-Super-Mare". Could it just be the parish or town in the Location column? (this is before I try to start making that column sort properly)— Rod talk 15:26, 13 July 2013 (UTC)
Along with some wiki friends we have been working on Grade II* listed buildings in Somerset and its sub lists - see what you think. I have had one comment asking why the "completed column is justified "up" when the others are "centre", otherwise its mostly errors in the EH spreadsheet we are finding (and fixing).— Rod talk 07:31, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

Too hasty

Congratulations on destroying all the work (references and all) that I've been doing on Leo Cushley's page. Mark.hamid (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 13:25, 24 July 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Leo Cushley, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Airdrie (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Khazars

I note the template on the page expires 07:32, 26 July 2013, i.e. an hour ago Does that expire automatically,or must it be removed by an administrator? Thanks Nishidani (talk) 08:19, 26 July 2013 (UTC)

唔該. Nishidani (talk) 09:22, 26 July 2013 (UTC)

Hi there. I see you recently moved this template. Something happened in that move so that the link to the article is now not working. I have updated the software version in the template but the article still shows the old version and doesn't update. I have tried tracking this down, but have been unable to figure out what the problem is. Can you have a look and see if you can fix it? - Ahunt (talk) 12:40, 27 July 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for fixing it! - Ahunt (talk) 13:13, 27 July 2013 (UTC)

Wang Zhongshu

Hi KTC, thanks a lot for improving the referencing of Wang Zhongshu. Now that you've addressed the concerns of Bluemoonset, I believe as the original reviewer you may restore the green tick at Template:Did you know nominations/Wang Zhongshu. Best regards, Zanhe (talk) 12:35, 31 July 2013 (UTC)

I'm sorry

I wasn't up for the dinner after all, but the aspect of getting back to the dorm afterwards kinda scared me. I hope you enjoyed the conference as much as I did, and I look forward to catching up with you again in London next year. All the best, Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 13:07, 13 August 2013 (UTC)

Monuments lists

Hi KTC, I see you're working on the lists of listed buildings. Last year I took some notes at Commons:User:Multichill/Monuments notes#United Kingdom. Might be of use to you. I added England to the monuments database, you can see it here. Multichill (talk) 11:41, 17 August 2013 (UTC)

Listed building lists bot

Hi KTC, a month ago you said on Talk:Listed buildings in Wales that you'd look into how difficult it would be to make a bot to divide the listed buildings lists into subsections by community. Have you had a chance to think about it? The main advantage would be that it would make the bigger lists less daunting to edit, especially for adding images already on Wikicommons as opposed to new uploads for WLM. Now that I'm aware of Wikipedia:Bot requests I could always post there, but I thought I'd ask you first as you offered. Ham 10:54, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

Oh gosh, I completely forgot about that. AFAIK, User:Jarry1250 will be filing a WP:BRFA for an unrelated WLM task. Maybe he would be available and interested to do this. -- KTC (talk) 11:05, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

An anomaly

Grade II* listed buildings in Bedfordshire has nothing for Luton - but there is one at Grade I listed buildings in Bedfordshire. It seems odd to have no grade II* - could you check this tomorrow? Thanks, Andrew Gray (talk) 21:52, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

AfD question

I just noticed you have closed an AfD I created (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shark baiting) as resulting in a keep. I have no problem with this, although I think I may be mistaken on how AfD's work. I thought that Wikipedia was not a democracy and I say that because it seems like the debate was weighed solely on "votes" with no commentary from you on the end on the debate. I was under the impression that the Administrator taking on the finished AfD debate weighs on the comments made by the editors in the debate and determines whether or not the article worth keeping based off the arguments made in discussion. As I said, there was almost no context in the article, no sources, no upkeep (which I've been informed in not an AfD reason) and add on top of that the fact that there was zero effort made to improve or expand the article even during the AfD. ISSA Manning Cup Football Competition (2013)

Good Day,

I have noticed that the subject article has been deleted and subsequently link articles are marked for deletion.

This competition in Jamaica, West Indies; highlights one of the country's oldest football competitions starting in 1909 with an official launching in 1919 along with the DaCosta Cup. It is one of the world's soccer competition that is older than the world cup.

This site was the ideal choice to cover the nation's top school athletic sport and feed that information to our international diaspora and to keep adequate records of the competition.

I have done everything requested as it relates to its links and the validity of the information compiled.

So why was this one deleted and the others for the 2011, 2012 and 2013 competetion marked for deletion?

This is sad as no other website has the historical data you are marking for deletion.

Hi, I don't believe the other voters properly applied WP:BLP1E in this case, and the article otherwise passes WP:GNG. For BLP1E it must pass all three criteria, including #3: "It is not the case the event is significant and the individual's role within it is substantial and well-documented". It goes on to say "The significance of an event or individual is indicated by how persistent the coverage is in reliable sources." The coverage has been persistent over years, even crossing over into books of chapter length. One source called it "iconic". Typically non-persistent means a flurry of news around the time of the event and unable to find sources beyond that time. This event has had persistent coverage. Also, Burghardt does have some coverage for other events, though not as much for this one. -- Green Cardamom (talk) 20:52, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

Jean Hanson

Dear KTC, I'm interested in working on the Jean Hanson page, but noticed via a Google search that you're in the process of extending her article in your sandbox? I was wondering how active that was. If you're still actively editing I can find someone else to develop (there are plenty of under-represented women scientists on Wikipedia!) and not step on your toes. If not, if you published what you've got I could extend it without replicating any stuff you've already done? Thanks, Stardarks (talk) 11:41, 5 December 2013 (UTC)

Helpful reminder

Hi there KTC, regarding your nomination @ Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2013 December 18#Category:People who found out later in life that they are of Jewish descent, that due to the subject matter ("Jews and Judaism"), it would be most helpful to also place a note at Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Judaism, which I have just done [1]. P.S. I have also voted to "Delete" and you may be interested to see my reasons why. By the way, you also did not cite any WP policy reasons for the nomination. You just threw it up in the air waiting for it to be shot down. Asking "why" and repeating it, doth not a WP policy make, nor does it justify any nomination, especially since you are an admin. Thanks, IZAK (talk) 07:08, 20 December 2013 (UTC)

More Doge fallout.

This is the guy who created the Dogecoin article. First off, even I will admit that the discussion regarding Dogecoin's status as a notable subject could've been a tad bit more civil. However, that is now past aside, and I believe that you should take a closer look at the deletion discussion of the actual meme. Pilotbob, who has had a past history of using sockpuppets, recently nominated Doge for deletion although he did support the inclusion of Dogecoin. His edits have a hint of hypocrisy and WP:IDONTLIKEIT, and they have also been restricted to those two discussions and were the first since January of 2012. I'm not exactly sure or clear about it, but would that raise any suspicion of intent to disrupt? [citation needed] 18:36, 22 December 2013 (UTC)

Why are you focusing so much on trying to discredit the nominating user? This is the same attitude that dragged the Dogecoin AfD through the dirt. Breadblade (talk) 18:47, 22 December 2013 (UTC)
