Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field – please fill in your new section's name instead. Thank you. - 220 of Borg 23:58, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 04:55, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

Hello, Jugni. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Amjad Saqib requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.akhuwat.org.pk/teams/dr-amjad-saqib. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi, thanks for message. Please add your messages to the bottom of the talk page, or they may be overlooked. If you post an article it will be assessed as it stands. If you don't want that to happen, you should write it as a draft.

If you remove a speedy deletion tag again, I will block you.

I deleted your article because

  • it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. It is now Wikipedia policy that biographical articles about living people must have independent verifiable references, as defined in the link, or they will be deleted. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the subject or his organisation, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what he claims or interviewing him. You had no independent third-party sources at all
  • you had an unsuitble references, but even that was not in-line so we can't tell what fact it is supporting. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls
  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced or self-sourced claims presented as fact include: dedicate himself to becoming a social entrepreneur and make a difference in societal change through Akhuwat
  • there shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • the article was a copyright violation. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. The copied site was marked Copyrights © 2018. All Rights Reserved. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial but there is no indication that the copied site allows free use. Text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.
  • It's clear from you have said that you have an obvious conflict of interest and you must declare it. You are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all if yu have a COI. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly. Regardless, if you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation or person you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Jugni. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Jugni|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message.

We often restore deleted text on request, but for legal reasons we don't do so for copyright violations. In any case, there was little factual content in your draft, so better to start from scratch.

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article. You must also reply to the COI request above Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:22, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for the reply.User:Jimfbleak. I have read above response and understood the reasons for the deletion of said page and agree with all of them. I would like to start the page from scratch with totally factual content and keep on improving it by following the guidelines according to the wikipedia standards and criteria. Have understood the criteria of third party resources

  • Regarding the COI, would like to clarify that there's nothing like paid task or promotion at all.If I do not write, anyone else can do, its none of my own interest here. Its just for the sake of sharing information to the readers of Wikipedia as when I search for an article and don't find any I would like to write on it with whatever the information available from open sources. This is what I appreciate about wikipedia and would love to comply with the rules and standards.
  • Have understood about using references, URL's, verifiable sources and specially independent third party sources which would stated on my revised article.
  • Please let me know if there is any way to draft an article for checking its health in every aspect to avoid deletion later?? awaiting your response to go ahead. Jugni (talk) 12:10, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I won't see messages here unless you start them with my user name User:Jimfbleak and sign with four tildes ~~~~ in the same edit; that will send me an alert
Your comment regarding no COI is noted. It's good practice to start articles as a draft, at Draft:Amjad Saqib, otherwise what you post will be treated as a finished article
Also look at existing bios like Pamela C. Rasmussen to see how in-line referencing works, although you don't need that level of detail. Let me know if you have any queries Jimfbleak - talk to me? 10:03, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

User:Jimfbleak Thanks for the kind words and help. I have initialise a page as draft, would like to know when and how may I publish it as final article or do I need to get it approved by any admin and keep on adding further edits with passage of time. Please respond also could you share your email please for ease access. shall be obliged. Jugni (talk) 09:20, 25 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

On my user page in the sidebar you can see "email this user". You must read and follow the guidance I've given you. Your draft has no references of any kind, and consists of no facts, just gushing praise a born philanthropist... working on making a huge difference in the lives of millions. I'm going to deleted the text. I'll leave the infobox for now, but without the spammy bolding. The claimed awards are also unsourced. You must comply with our guidelines, if you are just here to praise him, you will be blocked Jimfbleak - talk to me? 11:16, 25 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Please read the history] and make sure you understand my comments. You can't make comments about his parents' intentions since there is no way you (or he for that matter) can know what they were. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 11:18, 26 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

User:Jimfbleak Blv I am working on it to make it comply with all the guidelines, some of edits were not saved yesterday that's why, and about parents were already in my list, will do it asap. Thanks for your guidance and patience. Jugni (talk) 12:32, 26 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I've had a look now. The tone is much better, but of course you don't have any independent verifiable sources to verify the facts, and without such refs you can't show that he meets the notability guidelines. Please read the first bullet point of my original reply. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:50, 26 October 2019

User:Jimfbleak hi, could you please see new changes (added reference) if it's acceptable or not so that I can proceed.Jugni (talk) 15:02, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

That ref looks to be OK, it appears to be an independent author is a reputable publication. Basically, you need more like that Jimfbleak - talk to me? 16:28, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Arif Anis, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 15:41, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Jugni. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Draft:Tariq Sheikh, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Jugni. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Jugni|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. — Saqib (talk I contribs) 15:51, 28 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Draft:Khalid Hameed Baig requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

the BLP article already exists on Wikipedia with Title:Khalid Hameed (newscaster)

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:25, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
