Hello! I see that you have created an article, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Jozef Heriban. Wikipedia already has an article called Jozef Heriban, but some of the material in your article could be added to that article to make it better. —Anne Delong (talk) 02:59, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

Jozef Heriban
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself, at Jozef Heriban. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Notable people who have edited Wikipedia). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. :Jay8g [V•T•E] 18:42, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- Dear :Jay8g, I apologize, that I may have violated the principles of creating articles on Wikipedia. I thought, that the information I am adding is important to improve the mentioned article. I have added to the article two titles of the latest books and links to the mentioned novels on the most influential internet bookstore on Slovakia, Martinus.sk. Thanks for the warning, which I will follow in the future. I wish you a nice evening... Jozef Heriban (talk) 19:41, 13 August 2024 (UTC)

Please help me with... Hello, I created an article about Ondrej Šoth, choreographer, theater director and general director of the National Theatre Košice. I linked the information to the original sources using the citation tool that is part of the Visual Editor (called Citation at the top of the bar). I know, that citation templates can be generated automatically. Could you please send me a link to the English Wikiciter?
In Slovak, I use this link to generate citations: https://tools.freeside.sk/wikiciter/sk/
I assume that there is definitely an English Wikiciter, but I can't find it. Thank you very much for your help... Jozef Heriban (talk) 22:05, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- I think you are looking for reFill, which is here - RichT|C|E-Mail 23:43, 9 September 2024 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Jozef Heriban. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template)—don't forget to give details of reliable sources supporting your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 10:14, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- Dear editor of 331dot. I have lived in Slovakia for 71 years. I am a writer, screenwriter, playwright, film director. For several years I lectured at three universities in Slovakia on "Creativity about Marketing". I was the president of the Slovak PEN Center, which belongs to International PEN. I am a member of the Audiovisual Fund Commission for the Production of International Film Co-Productions, I am a member of the Slovak Film and Television Academy. I do not know Stano Bubán personally, but I decided to create a page about him on Wikipedia. I am not in a conflict of interest. I know the rules of Wikipedia. You do not answer my questions. You do not help me improve the page. I do not understand why you behave this way. Jozef Heriban (talk) 10:30, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- You say you don't know Mr. Buban personally, but said in this post that you got information from him. Both of these things cannot be true at the same time, you either know him in order to communicate with him or you don't.
- Which of your questions did I not answer? 331dot (talk) 11:05, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- IF a person wants to make a good page, they must get reliable information. I don't know Stano Bubán personally, but I can try to get reliable information. So my answers are not contradictory... Jozef Heriban (talk) 11:11, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- Unpublished information from a subject themselves is not valid Wikipedia content. It is impossible for a reader to verify information that has no published reliable source. Information in an Wikipedia article needs to be published somewhere that can be verified. Also note that primary source information has limited utility- it is okay in some circumstances, but not all.
- Articles are typically written without any involvement from, or even the knowledge of, the subject. If you are communicating with an article subject about your Wikipedia editing, that is a conflict of interest. 331dot (talk) 11:15, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- Dear 331dot. I understand what you want to tell me. On the other hand, on the Stano Bubán page, another bar appeared right at the beginning of the page, "This article uses bare URLs, which are uninformative and vulnerable to link rot.", which was not there before. Someone added it there. I consider it bullying. I wish you a nice sunny day... Jozef Heriban (talk) 11:22, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- Please see the reply to your message at the Teahouse, it explains what is happening. 331dot (talk) 11:27, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- This is my last reaction to this situation. On Stano Bubán's page there was no bar "This article uses bare URLs, which are uninformative and vulnerable to link rot." It only appeared during our communication. Dear 331dot., if you are satisfied with this solution to our communication, I am satisfied too. Instead of helping to improve the page, someone added a bar there that devalues all my work. I wish you all the best in your life... Jozef Heriban (talk) 11:36, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- No one is intending to "devalue" anything. We're trying to help address issues with the article. Links need to be formatted a certain way. I didn't add the tag. 331dot (talk) 11:43, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- I don't see such a tag on Stano Bubán. 331dot (talk) 11:44, 23 November 2024 (UTC)

Notice of Conflict of interest noticeboard discussion
[edit]There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard regarding a possible conflict of interest incident with which you may be involved. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 09:47, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
I'm sorry to hear that. You've found out the hard way that writing a new article here is challenging, especially about living people. Note that the English Wikipedia tends to be stricter than other language Wikipedias, like the Slovak Wikipedia. If what you wrote would be acceptable there, feel free to add it there if you haven't already. You don't need to respond to this. Best wishes to you. 331dot (talk) 11:48, 24 November 2024 (UTC)

I have sent you a note about a page you started
[edit]Hi JoshuaHeri. Thank you for your work on Stano Bubán. Another editor, North8000, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
Nice work

- Dear North8000, thank you very much for your checking Stano Bubán's page. I really appreciate your work... Thank you for your response... I wish you a nice Christmas time... JoshuaHeri (talk) 23:16, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
- Dear North8000, I would like to consult with you:
- Admin Reconrabbit added tags to the page using Page Curation (orphan). Even though I studied the issue of "orphan" pages, I did not understand what I should change or redesign on the Stano Bubán page to remove this bar.
- Please, could you advise me what exactly I should do? After all, the page has links to other internal pages of Wikipedia. For example, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, Academy of Fine Arts, Prague, Velvet Revolution, Slovak National Gallery, etc. Should I add more links to other pages from Wikipedia? JoshuaHeri (talk) 10:01, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
- The "orphan" notice has been resolved by the addition to Sečovce. Thank you. Reconrabbit 16:30, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
