Abra Granada
Hello there, I read the article you wrote on Abra Granada and saw that it says it is located in Bolivia. However, when checking the coordinates and the map of its location, it shows as being in Argentina. Can you please confirm which one is right and correct the text? Thank you in advance. Ruditaly (Talk) 21:00, 12 August 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for pointing this out, I've corrected it now. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 06:01, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
TFA
Thank you today for Mount Hudson, "about one of Chile's most active volcanoes. Mount Hudson had several intense eruptions during the Holocene, the latest of which took place in 1991 and had substantial impacts on . A few notes: The table contains only cross-correlatable tephras; not all tephras are present at all sites hence the incompleteness. While the 1991 eruption is the best documented in its history, it isn't actually the most significant either in the volcano's history or its impact on humans in South America, hence why it gets only a little more coverage than the others."! - Enjoy your vacation! -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:42, 14 August 2024 (UTC)

African humid period
Thanks for the check - it wasn’t a simple flub and shouldn’t have assumed. But the statement is that the ‘[African Humid Period] ended in north-eastern Asia…’ and this is clearly at least misworded. The paper cited uses the broader term ‘Holocene Humid Period’, and also states it isn’t fully clear the contractions are closely linked, though this seems to be their leaning. It might be more faithful and cautious to clarify with ‘… along with the end of a wider Holocene Humid Period in Northeast Asia’. Thoughts? Harsimaja (talk) 17:41, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- I've changed a pronoun to generalize, which seems less wordy and doesn't add a distinction that doesn't seem to be well-supported by the source - it strongly indicates that the African and Asian monsoons are connected. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 07:22, 27 August 2024 (UTC)

Troika Review
Hello Jojo, just thought I would reply here to your review. In regards to some of your critiques I fixed some of them and addressed others. Was a little confused by some of the pointers where you say some of the information is not in the source, I have double checked those and they do have it in some of those sources and have revised the portions that did not. In terms of sending you the pages, I don't have a proper way of doing so. I hope that doesn't affect your review. I did add a reference I founded and whatnot to the article and am still slightly confused as to how I can validate the non-free images. Paleface Jack (talk) 21:10, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- One way would be to upload the screenshots/pages to Google Drive and link it on the FAC. When the review's done, the Google Drive can be deleted again. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 07:23, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry if I seem a bit confused. I have never done that before and dont really know how. I dont have a high quality scanner or anything substantial. If i cannot do that is there any way you want me to verify the information? Also how can i ensure that non-free and even free images fit the rational of their inclusion in an FA? Paleface Jack (talk) 17:34, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, if you can't post the content of the sources I asked for anywhere, then I can't pass the spotcheck. If rewriting the rationale can fit the image issue then you can do that, but if not the images have to be removed. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 05:28, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
- Agreed. I will see what I can do about the pages being sent to you. Paleface Jack (talk) 15:04, 28 August 2024 (UTC)

- Butting in, PJ the usual approach is to email or dropbox phone camera pics of tree sources or screenshots of subscription/ebooks. Ceoil (talk) 01:17, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hm. This seems complicated. Paleface Jack (talk) 18:19, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, but when it comes to spot-checks I require it. Sources that aren't online can be tricky to check, thus need more careful review at FAC stage. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 07:58, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- I understand. I am currently screenshotting those pages for you though they might not have the page number on them because I want to preserve the legibility but I will name the files after the page number. Paleface Jack (talk) 17:59, 5 September 2024 (UTC)

Article for Callum Reynolds
Hi Jojo, I would like to build an article for English footballer Callum Reynolds, who's playing in the EFL (professional football) for the first time following Bromley's promotion. I believe it's time to create an article page for him, but it says it requires admin access to be created, can you please unprotect it so we can create the article? Thank you ChampsRT (Profile • Talk) 03:38, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
- Greetings. My impression is that the notability guidelines for football articles have been tightened over the years so "playing in the EFL (professional football) for the first time following Bromley's promotion" might no longer be sufficient. In particular, Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Notability is now an essay. Are there reliable sources that discuss him in detail? Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 18:03, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, I believe there are enough reliable sources for him as he played for several clubs that had articles about him. Here are some examples: Bromley, Dagenham, Barnet, Aldershot, Boreham Wood ChampsRT (Profile • Talk) 01:20, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- Mm, I don't think that these would be considered independent sources for notability purposes. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 07:29, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- What would make sources independent for notability purposes? Does this BBC article and this count? ChampsRT (Profile • Talk) 14:49, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- These are better, yes. Not sure if they are enough. Probably best to ask at WP:DRV - sometimes the closing administrator isn't best placed to re-assess sourcing. Besides, with only 3 participants in the last AfD there probably isn't a high bar to re-evaluation. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 06:14, 5 September 2024 (UTC)

Apologies
Just wanted to apologize for the constant messages, I know you are busy and so am I. Troika was hopefully going to be my first FA if it passes and I have been trying to make it as best as I can possibly make it so if it does not pass, I am not concerned. I have been more preoccupied with a more ambitious project, Expanding the article on the original Texas Chain Saw Massacre though a separate space so as to avoid any intrusive edits or people reverting my work on it. If you have any concerns with Troika or are still unable to read the pages I provided, I do apologize. I attempted to enhance them digitally without making them less readable so I hope it is better than it was before. Anyways happy editing and hopefully all things with your family are going well. Paleface Jack (talk) 00:44, 7 September 2024 (UTC)
- Eh, it's no big deal. I've been a bit inconstant lately with going to Wikipedia. I'll be around more this week and maybe the next one too. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 07:10, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- That is ok. You are giving me time and focus which I appreciate whenever you do so. I saw your reply on the review page saying that some refs were pending. Just wanted to clarify that I already sent you those ones or if I need to do so. I would hate to keep you waiting if I did not already send you those. Invitation to participate in a research
Hello,
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,
BGerdemann (WMF) (talk) 19:23, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
