Re:Lake Chad rewrite
Thank you for informing. I expanded the Chinese Wikipedia article with this article from the English Wikipedia a few months ago, but I quickly discovered that much of the content in this article did not match the source, and there was a lot of outdated content that still used data from the last century. So I searched for sources on my own and rewrote it in Chinese Wikipedia, and translated the rewritten article into English Wikipedia after the article was selected as a good article in Chinese Wikipedia. If there are quality issues, I earnestly hope that you will revise this article, but I completely cannot agree with the claim that the old version is better than the new version. Newbamboo (talk) 17:08, 12 September 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks. It's just that without an edit reason saying that the article content isn't backed by the source, it's hard to tell why a change took place. Imma ping Ashemur to notify them that there was a problem with the previous text. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 17:46, 12 September 2023 (UTC)

Protection of Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Header
Hello! I I was wondering if you would consider downgrading the protection on Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Header from TEP to ECP? Your rationale for protection was "too many legit edits for full but apparently it does attract autoconfirmed troublemakers per history"
, but given the page has a grand total of one transclusion that rationale seems to justify ECP rather than TPE. Best, HouseBlastertalk 21:28, 30 September 2023 (UTC)
- Greetings, it seems like some of the problematic edits would have been an issue even with ECP, and I don't get the impression that this template requires a lot of edits. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 08:22, 1 October 2023 (UTC)
- Fair enough. In that case, I have an edit request. Would you please change
[[File:Gtk-go-down.svg|25x25px|Skip to requests for protection|link=#toc]]
to[[File:Blue down arrow icon with slight gradient.svg|30px|Skip to requests for protection|link=#toc]]
? Per MOS:PDI, images that are not in the public domain (such as File:Gtk-go-down.svg) need to be linked to the image description page to provide the required attribution; File:Blue down arrow icon with slight gradient.svg is in the public domain. Thanks, HouseBlastertalk 17:05, 1 October 2023 (UTC)

TRAPPIST-1 scheduled for TFA
This is to let you know that the above article has been scheduled as today's featured article for 24 November 2023. Please check that the article needs no amendments. Feel free to amend the draft blurb, which can be found at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/November 24, 2023, or to make comments on other matters concerning the scheduling of this article at Wikipedia talk:Today's featured article/November 2023. I suggest that you watchlist Wikipedia:Main Page/Errors from the day before this appears on Main Page. Thanks and congratulations on your work. Gog the Mild (talk) 14:36, 30 September 2023 (UTC)
- @TFA coordinators Is it possible to park this into a "hold off TFA until relevant discoveries come up" queue? The James Webb Space Telescope is just investigating the middle and outer planets of this system, and I think the date of any discovery it makes there might be more significant than 24 November. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 08:18, 1 October 2023 (UTC)
- Sure. Swapped out. We shall perhaps revisit in six months or so. Would that suit? Gog the Mild (talk) 21:02, 1 October 2023 (UTC)

- What does
- "At 2,000 metres (6,600 ft) depth Montagu Island is about 62 kilometres (39 mi) deep."
- mean? Is 62 km the 'width' at that depth ? Shenme (talk) 02:54, 5 October 2023 (UTC)
- Yes. The island is a cone, so it gets wider the deeper you go. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 08:07, 5 October 2023 (UTC)
