Hi, you deleted this article at AfD a few weeks ago. Can you tell if the new version falls under WP:G4? PC78 (talk) 20:30, 6 July 2019 (UTC)
- Greetings PC78. Seems someone has redirected it already. JoJo Eumerus mobile (talk) 12:41, 7 July 2019 (UTC)
I was going through my AfD log and noticed this article and I'm considering taking it to DRV after the result of the natural language processing outcome here Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2019 June 6 which rejected the notion of outlines as WP:OR, though not necessarily about redundant forks - since you closed the XfD, wondering if you have any thoughts on the matter? Thanks! SportingFlyer T·C 00:20, 7 July 2019 (UTC)
- Greetings. First, I am currently on holiday in a place with snail WLAN so I can't much inspection. Second, in the AFD I closed the key arguments were about redundancy not OR but RoySmith point about a RFC might apply, so...flip a coin? JoJo Eumerus mobile (talk) 12:21, 7 July 2019 (UTC)
- I haven't spent too much time on this, but my initial impression is that DRV is the wrong tool. It looks to me that there's a general debate going on about outlines and portals in general, and the right way to discuss that would be in some sort of RFC, as noted above. -- RoySmith (talk) 14:51, 7 July 2019 (UTC)

Merging "Abdul Sattar (Maharashtra politician)" into "Abdul Sattar Abdul Nabi" and then deleting "Abdul Sattar (Maharashtra politician)"
Hi Jo-Jo, I had nominated "Abdul Sattar (Maharashtra politician)" (a wikipage about an Indian politician) for deletion because a duplicate page ("Abdul Sattar Abdul Nabi") already existed. After the Afd discussion, consensus was to merge the nominated page with "Abdul Sattar Abdul Nabi". I've done just that, i.e. I merged all the info from "Abdul Sattar (Maharashtra politician)" to "Abdul Sattar Abdul Nabi". I wonder what happens to the redundant "Abdul Sattar (Maharashtra politician)" page now? How do I delete it? Would love any help in this regard.
Thanks -- GreaterPonce665 (talk) GreaterPonce665 22:46, 13 July 2019 (UTC)
- Greetings, GreaterPonce665. The last step remaining would be to redirect the redundant article to the target. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 12:17, 14 July 2019 (UTC)

Undeleting an AFD you closed as delete
Hi, I've just gotten a request to undelete the article deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Best Picture milestones, which you closed. Is this all right with you? When I explained the process (link for the exchange in question), the user said basically he wants to put it in his sandbox and use some of the content in other articles, so I referred to WP:CWW and noted that it couldn't stay in a user sandbox.
If you're all right with undeletion, I suspect that I'll redirect it to Academy Award for Best Picture (unless you or the other user has a better idea) and repeat to him my instructions to attribute the source page (I'll use the template that's put on the talk page, if I can remember what it's called). Is all of this all right with you? And if not, would you explain what you think is the wisest course of action? Thank you. Nyttend (talk) 03:38, 24 July 2019 (UTC)

Possibly relisting an old AfD or outright deleting an article
The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
A couple of months ago you closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bernard Wojtkowiak with the consensus being to merge the article with Erie County, New York. However, I don't really think its possible to merge a one line article about a county legislator who only served in said legislature for one year into Erie County. Is it possible to re-list the article for deletion again or even just outright delete it given the subject was found not to have passed notability standards? Best, GPL93 (talk) 19:16, 2 August 2019 (UTC)
- You know, I admit that the merge proposal made relatively little sense; @Path slopu and Otr500:? Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 19:23, 2 August 2019 (UTC)
- The current politics of AFD usually leans to the literal meanings of !votes. I feel that anything other than "keep" is an indication the article does not warrant stand lone status and feel that policies and guidelines should be taken into account. For some reason this seems logical to me and possibly involves some common sense. However, it tends to get confusing in closings. Sometimes my intentions work but others not so much.
- At the time I failed to sign my !vote (went mental) there was the Nom of "Delete" and a "Merge". If I !voted delete and someone else "Merge" then past closings indicate a "No consensus" would have occurred so I added merge. This prompted me to !vote "Delete" with a secondary to "Merge" if possible. The article is a one paragraph two sentence BLP with one reference so fails NPOL, any basic notability criterion, is a dictionary mention, and pseudo biography likely never to be expanded. That would seem to be enough to warrant deletion but is not necessarily how it works. The fiasco of keeping blank articles and that !voting can be a head count over policy has led to some dismay. Merge was a better option of keep or keep by confusion. I feel "Delete" was warranted and if a reconsideration of closing is opted for would support deletion. If that is not possible I would reaffirm "Delete" on a renomination. Otr500 (talk) 14:43, 3 August 2019 (UTC)
- Personally, I'd be inclined to allow renomination or a relist. Even considering WP:ATD the material isn't mergeable without some substantial rework of the target article. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 15:05, 3 August 2019 (UTC)
- I just re-nominated. It's probably the easiest way to sort this out. Best, GPL93 (talk) 15:40, 4 August 2019 (UTC)

- Greetings, the reason why I didn't close it is because it's not clear if your argument would address WP:NFCC#1; either we need to demonstrate that the Commons file is of someone else or that only the non-free file is fit for purpose, and the reasons you gave there are kinda vague. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 11:08, 8 August 2019 (UTC)
- Hm. Perhaps I didn't express myself clearly. Although I thought I was clear enough. The file nominated is a well known picture, recognizable as belonging to the person mentioned in the title. The file at Commons is unknown to the large public, and not recognizable as being Meir Kahane. Therefore it is useless. Debresser (talk) 12:43, 8 August 2019 (UTC)
DYK for Meers Fault
On 10 August 2019, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Meers Fault, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Meers Fault in Oklahoma was active during the last 3,000 years and features a scarp that reaches 16 feet (5 m) in height? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Meers Fault. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Meers Fault), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Your help desk question
You didn't get a response to this question. What do you want to do? I don't have an answer for you.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 18:34, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- Well, it seems like that question is moot now as an uninvolved editor closed the discussion. But thanks. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 18:38, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- I marked the question resolved.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 18:46, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
