Animation Barnstar Discussion
Hi. I left you a response at Khanassassin's talk page, but am not sure if you have seen it. Some parts of your post were a little unclear to me, though I am very interested in hearing what your thoughts are on this idea. What kind of process did you go through when you created the Barnstar a couple years ago (Did you open a discussion about it at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Wikipedia Awards?) and would you be interested in supporting my current proposal? --Jpcase (talk) 14:47, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- Sure, that would be fine with me, whatever floats your boat. JJ98 (Talk) 04:34, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
- Could you leave a post supporting it then, at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Wikipedia Awards, so that a consensus can be reached? Also, I would love to see the design that you had created a couple of years ago, if you still have it, since I wouldn't actually know how to create one. --Jpcase (talk) 17:46, 4 September 2013 (UTC)

G'day
From OZ - having left comments at both intelligence and espionage talk pages about a year (or more) or so ago about inactivity - and having had a conversationm at Hong Kong wikimania with a senior milhist veteran and also having a eureka moment on the return flight from Hong Kong, I was trying to get away from other diversions to try to clutch the redirects that the usual suspects at milhist had created to try to mediate an explanation of how espionage and intelligence should actually be part of the one peroject....
but if you gonna resurrect espionage that sort of puts paid to that idea. so all power to you, but beware the turkeys. satusuro 23:46, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

Dumb Questions
I have the Adventure Time page watchlisted, and I often see you adding portal links and then reverting them. I'm curious: what do those do, and why do you keep changing them? I don't mean this in an accusative way, I'm just genuinely curious. :P--Gen. Quon (Talk) 21:49, 17 November 2013 (UTC)

Whaam!
Hey. You realize Whaam! is not comics, and therefore is totally inappropriate to highlight at the Comics portal? Did you read the article itself? Curly Turkey (gobble) 07:23, 25 November 2013 (UTC)
- Yes. From Wikipedia:Today's featured article/September 27, 2013 since its an FA. Great, but not that good. If its totally inappropriate, I'll remove it from the Comics portal if necessary. JJ98 (Talk) 07:27, 25 November 2013 (UTC)
- There really isn't that great a lack of actual comics articles, and Whaam! would fail any "What is comics" test. I really can't see it as appropriate at all. Curly Turkey (gobble) 07:37, 25 November 2013 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (File:2nd Royal Cheshire Militia - belt buckle.JPG)
Thanks for uploading File:2nd Royal Cheshire Militia - belt buckle.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 18:28, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

I have to ask?
What was the intended purpose of this edit? [1] Is this a precursor to dismantling the Wikiproject US that is being discussed on some talk page I'm not watching? or did Arizona secede from the union over the weekend? =-) Dave (talk) 19:45, 14 April 2014 (UTC)
- No. Just because Kumioko is longer editing here anymore since he got banned from editing, so I decided to remove the WPUS tag and assess some of the Arizona articles with the {{WikiProject Arizona}} tag. Look, I am no longer member of the US WikiProject because of this and that recent TFD to up merge the banner from it and I don't really feel like that I am not coming back to the this wikiproject anytime soon. I would cut all of the WPUS and other state, city projects from Interstate, U.S. and state highways like I removed the WPUS tag on the Interstate 5 and 70 talk pages since it is already covered by WP:USRD. JJ98 (Talk) 00:20, 15 April 2014 (UTC)
- OK, yeah sounds like some wikidrama that I managed to successfully avoid. I was aware that Kumioko managed to ruffle some feathers, but I'm blissfully ignorant to the why's and am ok staying that way. Thanks. Dave (talk) 03:31, 15 April 2014 (UTC)

Dear fellow Wikipedian, The L.A. Wikipedia community has two exciting events coming up in the next few weeks: an edit-a-thon sponsored by the online magazine East of Borneo, and the fourth annual Los Angeles Wiknic! The East of Borneo event is an edit-a-thon that aims to build a better history of art in Southern California. This next chapter of their Unforgetting L.A. series will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2014 from 12pm to 5pm at 356 S. Mission Rd. (map). Beginners welcome! Please RSVP here if you plan to attend. Wikipedia community! The event is tentatively planned for Pan-Pacific Park (map) and will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2014 from 9:30am to 4pm or so. Please RSVP and volunteer to bring food or drinks if possible! I hope to see you there! Note to self
Due to real life issues, I won't be leaving Wikipedia until July, because, I won't be editing around the portals including the Animation portal which I've edited and done maintenance too much. I know SpongeBob SquarePants is gone, since I've been switching back with Adventure Time too much since I know there both GAs. Really, I don't want to come back too the Animation WikiProject anytime soon since these work groups have no activty. JJ98 (Talk) 06:45, 14 June 2014 (UTC)

American film stubs
Hello, and welcome back! While I appreciate your work in adding stub tags to articles in {{WikiProject Film}}, please do not add the stub tags in Category:American film stubs, if an article already has an appropriate genre stub tag. There are over 22,000 Stub-class film articles that fall under the American cinema task force, so country tags for those articles should only be used as a last resort. Thanks! Fortdj33 (talk) 03:08, 26 September 2014 (UTC)
- No problem. While I've appreciate you improving some of the film articles, I'm just here to improve my stats, mainly I've been fixing around the dead links and adding refs since my main edits are at nearly 9,000. Although, I've been off wiki sometimes when me and dad doing the grammar to improve my site a little bit. JJ98 (Talk) 03:18, 26 September 2014 (UTC)

Animation Barnstar - Would You Like Credit?
Hi. The Animation Barnstar has been accepted, and I'm about to add it to WP:*. I don't fully understand how you feel about this, nor do I fully understand how far you went toward creating this barnstar a few years ago. I'm willing to share credit with you though, as one of the editors who initially conceived the idea. Let me know if this is something that you would appreciate. :) --Jpcase (talk) 15:04, 24 October 2014 (UTC)

LA edit-a-thons on February 14, 17, and 21
Redondo Loves Wikipedia (2/14), Wik-Ed Women (2/17), and Unforgetting LA at the Getty (2/21)! | |
---|---|
Dear fellow Wikipedian, The LA Wikipedia community has three events in mid-February -- please consider attending! First, we have a Valentine's Day edit-a-thon appropriately named Redondo Loves Wikipedia, which will take place at the Redondo Beach Public Library from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, February 14. Join library staff, the Redondo Beach Historical Society, and others to help improve Wikipedia's coverage of Redondo Beach! Second, we have a Wik-Ed Women editing session on Tuesday, February 17 from 6pm to 10pm at the Los Angeles Contemporary Archive downtown. This series of informal get-togethers is designed to encourage Los Angeles women-in-the-arts (though all are welcome!) to contribute their expertise to Wikipedia, specifically expanding content about women artists. Third, we have an Unforgetting LA event put on by East of Borneo in collaboration with the Getty Research Institute. Come help improve Wikipedia's coverage of LA design and architecture, and have an awesome free day at the museum -- parking will be validated for edit-a-thon participants! If you'd like to use particular books from GRI's great collection, be sure to email before 2/13 (instructions at event page). And be sure to check out our main meetup page, because we already have three SoCal events scheduled for early March! I hope to see you there! You really should care
Is there a reason you're putting "I don't care" in most of your edit summaries? It's a bit offputting, as it makes your edits look like vandalism (it implies that you don't care about consensus, policies, and procedures). Wikipedia is a volunteer effort, and no one is forcing you to make edits if you don't want to. If you truly don't care about what you are doing, maybe you should leave the editing to those who do. --Ahecht (TALK

Resurrection of Southern California Task Force
After moving from Los Angeles County to Kern County to San Luis Obispo County, I am finally realizing that there is life in California outside of L.A. and San Francisco, where I lived and grew up. Oh, I have also lived in San Diego, San Bernardino, San Joaquin, Yolo and Sacramento counties, and I earned my undergraduate degree in Riverside County. I am trying to breathe life into the Southern California Task Force, and I hope you will join me. Could you visit our list of participants at the other end of this link and update your description of what you are interested in doing for us, assuming that you still want to be in the mix, that is.
In recompense, I will buy you a drink during the Wikipedia Welcome Week I am planning for Morro Bay on the Central Coast in July. Yours sincerely, BeenAroundAWhile (talk) 18:53, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
