Thanks for uploading Image:Tacpier.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 11:30, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:PRICEMAN.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:PRICEMAN.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 14:06, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:MADONNAOFJAPAN.JPG, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:MADONNAOFJAPAN.JPG is a duplicate of an already existing article, category or image.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:MADONNAOFJAPAN.JPG, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:SAPATOSMARIKINA.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sdrtirs (talk) 14:52, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Visayas State University, and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Leyte State University. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 14:21, 10 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Please don't move a page by cutting and pasting its content. Doing so destroys the page edit history and causes copyright infringement (GFDL violations). GFDL requires acknowledgement of all contributors; so it is required that edit histories be preserved for all edits to an article. For this article, I have done a history merge, so there is no longer any trouble now. :) Anyway, please be more careful and use the "move" button next time. :) (More information available at Help:Moving a page!) Orphaned non-free image (Image:Samar State College of Agriculture and Forestry.gif)

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading Image:Samar State College of Agriculture and Forestry.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? I notice that this category you created is unpopulated (empty). In other words, no Wikipedia pages belong to it. If it remains unpopulated for four days, it may be deleted, without discussion, in accordance with Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#C1. I'm notifying you in case you wish to (re-)populate it by adding [[Category:Waray-Waray Wikipedians]] to articles/categories that belong in it.

I blanked the category page. This will not, in itself, cause the category to be deleted. It serves to document (in the page history) that the category was empty at the time of blanking and also to alert other watchers that the category is in jeopardy. You are welcome to revert the blanking if you wish. However, doing so will not prevent deletion if the category remains empty.

If you created the category in error, or it is no longer needed, you can speed up the deletion process by tagging it with {{db-author}}.

Hello, I noticed you have a UP Student/Alumni User box for University of the Philippines (UP) and thought you might want to support our recent proposal to create the WikiProject University of the Philippines. We've recently revamped the proposal and started a drive to push the approval of this project. We have a lot of articles that may be under this project and we would like assistance and support for its approval. Hope we'll have a very positive response. Go Fighting Maroons!

Licensing note

[edit]

Hi. Another contributor recently removed text you added to Tacloban City here as a copyright violation. Evidently, you were under the impression at the time that Wikipedia was able to accept Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 2.5 License. I'm afraid that license has always been incompatible with our own. This was obviously placed some time ago and you may know that now, but I thought I'd best point it out in case you were not aware. If you have any questions about our licensing compatibility, please let me know at my talk page. Thanks. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:54, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for informing me and for your constructive criticism. I already read the written exchanges you made with Drmies and I now understand the reasons why the affected section should be deleted. With your advice, I'll see to it that I would not commit the same mistake again. --JinJian (talk) 21:33, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your addition has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. You've been asked on several occasions not to post copyrighted material and yet you just did so again. Next time, I'll have no choice but to impose a block of your edit privileges. Please do not post any copyrighted content. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 02:24, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

With due respect, please clarify the message that you have sent to me earlier. My recently additions involve short statements taken from the laws of the Republic of the Philippines and since they are from the law, they are not copyrighted materials. Footnotes have also been provided for proper references. I have also checked your edit history and it seems that you did not remove any of my recent contributions. I may commit some honest mistakes from time to time and I would appreciate feedbacks so that I could improve my contributions to wikipedia. Thanks. --JinJian (talk) 02:55, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted "Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College" since a section of it came back word-for-word from another site per a Google search. ____ City in Philippine cities

[edit]

Although I had supported these page moves, I would like to make an exception. For cities that were had another name, then on cityhood they had a new name and the word "City" was affixed, the article name should be NewName City and not NewName. The affected articles are Roxas, Capiz and Lapu-Lapu, Philippines which should be moved back to Roxas City and Lapu-Lapu City. I dunno if other cities had the same condition (new name on cityhood). –HTD (ITN: Where no updates but is stickied happens.) 18:24, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am not yet ready to accept your proposal and I still would prefer the status quo right now. The changing of name is immaterial for consideration in retaining the word "city" from the article titles. However, we may discuss this further at wp:tambay or at the talkpages of the articles concerned. Hopefully we together with other wikipedians can have a meaningful deliberation and conclusion regarding this matter. --JinJian (talk) 14:22, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've supported the moves before and I'm asking for consideration on these two since these should probably go to one of those "exceptions." I could've done those myself but due to sheer laziness I didn't and I was happy you went through with it.
My rationale on ditching the word "city" was that people already knew the place as "Cityname" so adding "city" did not actually change the name of the city; ergo people would still call Makati as "Makati" and not "Makati City" (and "Makati" was still part of the name even if the word "city" was appended).
Now for these two (Roxas City and Lapu-Lapu City), they were known by another name before cityhood, and when they became cities, they had an entirely new name; although it can be said that the word "City" isn't exactly "part of the name" it can be argued that it has become part of common use.
I do fear though that if these two are moved some people might try to move other city articles back to "<Cityname> City", but this exception looks like will apply to only two cities and I can't think of more exceptions so at least the other city articles are safe. Also, it was your initiative that's why I asked if you're into this. –HTD (ITN: Where no updates but is stickied happens.) 13:13, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What about Quezon City? We don't say "I'm going to Quezon" The title of article should be based on the OFFICIAL name of the city not what is heard on the streets of Manila. If we base the information on simply what we hear then we should also change the name of the page "Republic of The Philippines" to "Philippines" or "Pilipinas" because I don't hear anyone in Manila or Cebu or perhaps any other place in The Philippines constantly say I live in the "Republic of The Philippines". The wikipedia page is supposed to appear professional and factually accurate and it is INACCURATE to simply call the page "Caloocan" when Caloocan is a city not a barangay or district or whatever and it's official name is "Lungsod ng Kalookan" which I'm sure everyone is aware that in English it translates to CALOOCAN CITY. Proposed blackout in protest of RA 10175

[edit]

Dear JinJian,

Greetings!

As a Filipino Wikipedian, I hope you are aware of the passage of Republic Act No. 10175, also known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, which was signed into law by President Benigno Aquino III on September 12, 2012. Currently, there is a discussion on the Tambayan, the noticeboard for Philippines-related topics, about a proposed blackout of the English Wikipedia in the Philippines in order to protest the passage of RA 10175, similar to the blackout against SOPA and PIPA held earlier this year. I feel that your input on the subject will definitely help in the discussion.

Please feel free to participate in the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Tambayan Philippines#The Cybercrime Prevention Act, and I hope your input will help the Filipino Wikipedia community determine which is the best course of action against this law. Similarly, we hope to get as much input from as many Wikipedians as possible.

Thank you and maraming salamat po!

Kind regards,

"Further Readings"

[edit]

Hi! I noticed that on a lot of pages you created, you created sections named "Further Readings". Please note that as per the style guide, these should instead be titled "Further reading". This isn't a warning or anything, just a friendly correction to save some work for others :) Thanks! Suntooooth (talk) 12:54, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Note on this. Thanks JinJian (talk) 00:14, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Roman Catholic churches in Samar (province) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of colleges and universities in the Philippines, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Foundation University. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:00, 30 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The page Kalinga State University has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appeared to be a direct copy from https://ksu.edu.ph/aboutKSU/university-history. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition has been be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion review.
