Fulham FC seasons
Hi mate, Thanks for your useful edits to Fulham F.C. season 2009-10, a page that I have been working hard on to keep up to date. Would you be able to create similar tables and formatting for the 2008-09 season article and any other Fulham seasons. Thanks. 03md 09:01, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Football appearances
Hi, thanks for updating appearances for footballers in infoboxes but when you do so can you also update the date of change field so that we know when the statistics are valid to. In the case of international caps ntupdate
needs updating and for national appearances pcupdate
. The easiest way to do this is to replace the contents of the field with 5 tilde characters and the software will change this to the current date and time when you save the article. Thanks. Keith D (talk) 14:26, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
Lists of Fulham players
Hi, I have just started List of Fulham F.C. players (for players who have played 50 or more matches for the club) and List of Fulham F.C. players with fewer than 50 appearances. Would you be able to assist me in adding players to the lists and keeping it up to date? Do you have any Fulham stats books that could source pre-WW2 players? Please respond on my talkpage. Thanks. 03md 12:21, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
Ramsey
Hi
As the article is semi-protected, I might tell you that after reviewing the tackle in slowmotion, several time on swedish telly. Ramsey didn't brake his bone(s)(looks like ankle and midbone) from a tackle he broke it while turning. shawcross then hit him. for sure he was late it might be a yellow but try and be objective mate when posting on Wikipedia. the evidence is there.
Don't get me wrong I feel for Aaron, but Ryan didn't break his bone. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.249.27.81 (talk) 23:15, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
Fulham reserves
Hi. I just noticed you mainly contribute to the Fulham article and everything related such as the player articles. So I thought maybe you could help me out as I'm trying to expand the Neil Etheridge page. For the 2010-11 season, since Fulham have pulled out of the reserve league, would you know if Fulham played any reserve friendlies prior to October 26? In particular, friendlies where Etheridge might have made an appearance. Based on the news archive on fulhamfc.com, the first reserve game that was reported on for this season was a 3-1 win over Millwall on October 26 [1]. And again based on their news archive, the second friendly of the season and Etheridge's first was in a 1-1 draw with Watford on November 2 [2]. Banana Fingers (talk) 17:56, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
Honours
Yes, I think so. In fact, not just the Europa League, but any competition. While it is commendable for a player to be part of a team that reaches the final of a major competition, it's not an honour; the silver medals they get are hardly a reward but more of a consolation prize. I've also seen a lot of people adding 3rd and 4th place "honours" for international competitions to some players' articles, but that's surely right out of the question. – PeeJay 22:25, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
Fulham 2011-12
Just a quick question. you reverted submission from an ip who added Fulham's two preseason games. Just wondering why. i understand why you changed back the changes made to the europa league as i would have done that as well. They may be X1 games but does include part of first team squads which is what the article covers. Warburton1368 (talk) 23:00, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
Fulham player lists
Hey, I know you do a lot of work on Fulham articles. Would you be able to make sure List of Fulham F.C. players, List of Fulham F.C. players (25-99 appearances) and List of Fulham F.C. players (fewer than 25 appearances) are kept up to date. I have just gone and updated them because they had been stagnant since the third match of the season. I am currently in the process of reformatting the latter 2 to match the first one, and realise the fewer than 25 apps list is not quite complete. 03md 18:25, 23 November 2011 (UTC)
Joke?
Hi, is what you meant on my page some kind of joke? Due to persistant vandalism/people writing rubbish and changing Dembele's club, I decided rather than searching through and undoing whereever, I would just revert back to an earlier version where his club was Fulham, there was no mention of Tottenham and as was the case here, his club said Fulham 2010- rather than Fulham 2010-2012. Mythical Curse (talk) 14:16, 29 August 2012 (UTC).
Ahhhh... just found it, sorry I didn't realise the version I reverted back to contained vandlism about the naked bit. Apologies, I was only trying to return the article to what it used to be, without all the rumours. Mythical Curse (talk) 14:18, 29 August 2012 (UTC).
Alex Smith
Hey, sorry about that i think while i was making the page for Alex Smith (Footballer born 1991), the other one was reviewed and accepted, sorry for that slight confusion and thank you for using info from my page on the other one. My page is fine for deletion now so go ahead :) - Je m'appelle joe du lait — Preceding unsigned comment added by Je m'appelle joe du lait (talk • contribs) 16:17, 17 September 2012 (UTC)

adam morgan made a last minute appearance against hearts in the first leg of their third round qualifying match, he then went on to start the following leg in the starting line up, therefore he has made two appearances — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.107.58.100 (talk) 19:53, 4 October 2012 (UTC)

Fulham 2012-13
I edited the page because I saw no point in having the "+0" in the appearances table. If there's no plus after it people will assume they made no sub appearances. That's my explanation. Imlikeaboss (talk) 19:43, 10 November 2012 (UTC)

Marcus Marshall
Hi, I just thought I would explain why I removed your edits on the Grimsby Town and Bury squad templates. Although Marcus Marshall was recalled by Bury in the week, he has since on Friday re-signed on loan for Grimsby for the rest of the season. Bury had recalled him in an attempt to sell him to Luton Town, however Marshall rejected Luton and wanted to return to Grimsby. I thought I would just inform you of this. I made those recent additions to the template, adding players to the squad in accordance with Liverpool's recently submitted roster for the Europa League knockout stages. See this document for evidence. Lovemonk. (talk) 13:29, 7 February 2013 (UTC)

Footballer's national identity
How is this defined? Using the Fulham player Josh Pritchard as an example, is it being based on what national team he plays/has played for? I'm querying this as I was unsure, as his profile on the Fulham site lists him as English, and he has never actually played a game from Wales Under-21s so it jus seems odd to decide his nationality based on a game he could have potentially played in. Hi there JM, AL from Portugal speaking,
i'd like to propose a compromise regarding this player's page and your recent edits: i "offer" (already have) tons of refs, including those in intro four your "citation needed" request. If you can be so kind, please allow for the previous PC/NT updates to remain, he has not played for Bilbao in months as his storyline illustrates (contract issues), so he has failed to appear internationally as well.
Also, please let's keep his Athletic official profile as link. Yes i know it's not his club anymore, but it's a link that has a lot of goodies and does not crash in years (i have seen several Bilbao players from the 70s/80s still with that link "operating").
Finally (not a request and i'll explain immediately after the second bracket), he has not yet made his Premier League debut and you have added the category. I'm sure that, if an injury does not prevent it, he'll make his debut and play many more games, he's got the upper hand at Fulham as he's not English (correct me if i'm wrong but Fulham has what? TWO nationals, THREE in the entire roster? Unheard of, kind of like F.C. Porto in my country - THREE Portuguese players last season, now they've sold João Moutinho apparently).
Happy weekend, until some other time --AL (talk) 02:16, 24 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi there - once a PROD tag has been removed, it should not be re-added. Anybody can remove the PROD tag - registered or IP - and no reason has to be given. If a PROD tag is removed, the next step is to take the article to WP:AFD. Not sure if you've ever done an AFD; if not, now is a good time to learn, or I can do it for you. Give me a shout if you need any help either way. GiantSnowman 14:05, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
- Furthermore, I've just noticed you have also broken WP:3RR at this article. As this is down to ingorance of correct procedure, I am willing to overlook in this instance - but in future please be more careful, as breaking 3RR could lead to a block. GiantSnowman 14:06, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

Why did you revert the edit i made to the Chris Baird page?NHCLS (talk) 18:01, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi JMHamo. Just dropping in because I saw you reverted a change by User:81.151.104.178 on the above template. I have reverted your edit - caretaker managers are not eligible for inclusion on manager templates and Brian Kidd should not therefore be shown. His legacy will remain on List of Manchester City F.C. managers in its full glory, but he should not be on a template. Just thought I should drop by and mention this to you, since you left a message on 81.151.104.178's page asking him why he did what he did. Falastur2 Talk 02:27, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
- I partly disagree with you. Where does it say that caretaker managers are not to be included in Club Manager templates (Kidd was in charge for competitive Premier League games)? JMHamo (talk) 09:46, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
- Where does it say that caretaker managers are to be included? There is no manual of style for these templates, but this is the established style that those of us who look after the City articles and templates on Wikipedia have created between ourselves and adhered to. In the exact same way that on Garry Cook's infobox it correctly shows Ferran Soriano as his successor to the position of CEO, not John McBeath, who was interim CEO for a year after Cook resigned, caretaker managers do not count as official appointments and should not be shown on this template. Other club templates may do differently, but this is a City template and this is how ours is maintained. If I could, I would remove the caretakers from all the other manager templates too, but I deal with the City articles, and it's not my place to institute my manual of style on other clubs' works. Falastur2 Talk 10:41, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
- I will start the discussion on the Template Talk page to get a consensus. JMHamo (talk) 10:54, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
- It may be worth notifying Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football to get wider input; that template talk page probably gets very little traffic. Oldelpaso (talk) 11:36, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

Assists
How can that be? Are match reports not reliable? If we rely on them for goals, why not assists? I think it's also worth pointing out that there are a huge number of players who do have assists included in their stats boxes? Hedgefall (talk) 21:55, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
- Have a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Football/Players. There has always been a problem with finding reliable sources for assists and they are not included in the stats table but may be included in the body of the player article. JMHamo (talk) 21:58, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
- The source for stats is usually Soccerbase, I forgot to say and Soccerbase does not include assists.

"Updating..."
Hello. Couple of things... You may not be aware of WP:DEADLINK, that makes clear that we shouldn't remove references just because they've gone dead, as you did with this edit to Danny Murphy, and outlines what we should do to fix the problem.
And at Matt Green (footballer), you removed the entire stats table. While I agree it wasn't explicitly sourced, do you really think a stats table verifiable (apart from Newport County) from the Soccerbase external link already present in the article is so contentious that it needs ripping out on sight rather than tagging as unsourced?
In general, though, if you're going to remove content, please could you use an edit summary that describes what you've done rather more accurately than "updating...", to give those watching an article an indication that they might need to react. I'm sure you're aware from your own editing that many people don't bother checking edits by experienced editors like yourself when they use a neutral summary. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 14:41, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

Hey JMHamo. We've just rolled out a new version of the VisualEditor :). Changes and patches include:
- Newly added templates now list their available parameters if TemplateData is available;
- The load for the VisualEditor on apages is now 4 KiB, down from 119 KiB;
- Feedback dialog is no longer chased off the screen by typing (bug 50538)
- Fixed the Monobook issues around z-indexes (bug 50241)
- Undoing an image resize doesn't make everything look bad
- In the image dialog, "Caption content" is now just "Caption"
- Tweaked tooltip references to VisualEditor to instead talk about "source mode"
Those are the big ones; more coming at the end of this week or early next week :). It's a short list, but the load issue took up a lot of time, as did TemplateData, and are both pretty big changes. If you've got any questions, drop them on my talkpage. Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 01:24, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

- "Edit" will load the latest version, not the version you're looking at (bug 49943)
- "Edit" will load the latest version, not the version you edited last time if this is your second edit (bug 50441)
- VE edit section links will load the latest, not original, version in diff view preview (bug 50925)
- <big><big>Foo</big></big> and similar repeated tags will not get corrupted any more (bug 49755)
In the meantime, testing is proceeding well, and hopefully we can get some more fixes out over the next couple of days. If you're interested in helping out, we have a set of open tasks we'd really appreciate your assistance with :). Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 08:01, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

Hey JMHamo
We just deployed another VisualEditor release; bugs fixed include:
- Firefox 13/14 has been temporarily blacklisted, to avoid the insertion of broken links [[./that look like this]] (50720)
- Changing a reference in a template should no longer produce the bright red "you don't have a references block!" error (bugzilla:50423)
- Notices are now shown if you're editing a protected or semi-protected page (bugzilla:50415)
- The template inspector will no longer invite you to insert parameters that are already being used (50715)
- Same as above, but with aliases (50717)
- Parameter names in the template dialogue now word-wrap (50800)
- The link inspector will not show in the top left if you hit the return key while opening it (49941)
- Hitting return twice in the link editor will no longer introduce a new line that overwrites the link (51075)
- Oddly-named categories no longer cause corruption (50702)
- The toolbar no longer occasionally covers the cursor (48787)
- Changing the formatting of text no longer occasionally scrolls you upwards (50792)
Not specific bugs, but other things; cacheing is now improved, so people should stop seeing temporary breaking when the VisualEditor updates, and RTL support has received some patches. I hope this newsletter is helpful to people; I'll send out another one with the next deployment :). Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 10:11, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

Hey JMHamo! Another set of patches :). Today we have:
- Required template parameters are now automatically added to new templates (50747)
- Templates with piped links now display correctly when you alter them (50801)
- If your edit token expires, you're now informed of it (50424).
- You still won't be able to save - that's due to be fixed on Monday :).
More on Monday, I suspect. Hope you have a good weekend :). I should also have some news about the IP launch pretty soon. Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 13:19, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
