Arabic Audio
[edit]Salam Adoni (as a schizophrenic holy land resident would say) - thanks for your note, I think it's a good idea. I have uploaded a few audio files and will start inserting them into their relevant articles. The files were recorded on my Mac, and I hope they work OK with Windows. I just inserted one into Jerusalem. Let me know if you have any more suggestions. Thanks again. Ramallite (talk) 16:02, 25 September 2005 (UTC)
- Hi. I did Jericho, Hebron, and Nablus earlier today. I'll record some more cities later on also. So I guess next on the list is Acre, Safed, Haifa (although they are very similar), Tel Aviv, Jaffa, Beersheva, Ashkelon/Askalan, Gaza? One small problem: when we add an audio file under a Hebrew/Arabic word, the word becomes underlined. This sometimes interferes with the niqat/nekkudot of that word. But in any case, I think it's no big deal. Thanks Ramallite (talk) 13:38, 27 September 2005 (UTC)
Ok, added some more (see here), including some cities, holy places, and a couple of food items. Many could use some Hebrew as well. Whenever you have a chance, take a look. I underlined the latin characters whenever available. Thanks. Ramallite (talk) 05:13, 30 September 2005 (UTC)
RFA
[edit]Itamar, I see you've worked with Ramallite in the past. You might want to comment on or vote at his Request for Adminship, here: WP:RFA#Ramallite. Jayjg (talk) 17:38, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
Shalom
[edit]I saw you voted in http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship/Ramallite. Have you seen the qeustions on the talk page ? Zeq 23:15, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
Thank you for looking. I think that if you would have tried to work with him on issues such as the Gader which are hard to deal with you will see a different aspect .His style in these issues makes it very hard . I am sure that in 75% of the subjects he is indeeed a good editor. the problem are the tougher issues. Zeq 05:12, 6 November 2005 (UTC)
Thank you
[edit]I just wanted to thank you for your support of my RfA which finally passed! I greatly appreciate your kind words in my support, and hope we can continue to work together in the future (by the way, I'm sure you noticed that they changed the way the audio links work, now the words are no longer underlined so they don't interfere with the nekkudot.) Thanks again!! Ramallite (talk) 04:21, 9 November 2005 (UTC)
Crazy changes by Gilgamesh
[edit]Unfortunately, User:Gilgamesh is now imposing his own views by changing the transliterated Hebrew names of articles with redirects to unreadable Hebrew names and fonts, as if his criteria are the only ones to reckon with, when there are in fact several. My computer, as I am sure many others' as well, does not pick up his type of fonts, and thus he is messing up articles such as Safed, Hadera, Holon, Afula, Arad, Israel and many others defacing them and making them unreadable on the web. He is going to DESTROY the normal usage of Wikipedia's Hebrew transliterations to satisfy his own needs without there being any consensus. Common usages are being thrown out in favor of obscure and pedantic academic usages familiar to only a handful of unkown academics. He should be called upon to stop BEFORE he rushes to do further damage without any consensus being reached. All his changes should therefore be reverted. See all his recent contributions via: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Special:Contributions/Gilgamesh I thank you for your interest, and urge all readers here to act. IZAK 05:00, 13 November 2005 (UTC)
Hebrew naming conventions
[edit]At the present time there is a serious discussion taking place, aiming at some consensus that will result in "official" Wikipedia guidelines about how Hebrew should be used and written in Wikipedia articles. Because of your past or ongoing interest in these type of articles with Hebrew words in them, your attention is called to Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Hebrew) [1] TO MAKE YOUR VIEWS KNOWN AND TO ADD TO THE DISCUSSION BEFORE THE "DOORS ARE SHUT" PLEASE SEE THE RELATED DISCUSSION PAGE AT Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (Hebrew) [2] Thank you! Rejection of Tanakh
[edit]Hi Itamar: Please see and vote at Wikipedia:Categories for deletion/Log/2005 December 12#Category:Hebrew Bible at [3] where it is being suggested that the word "Tanakh" is "not neutral", and I am trying to explain to them that it is in keeping with NPOV to convey the way Judaism uses certain terms to describe the Hebrew Bible/Tanakh. Thanks. IZAK 19:16, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Livnat limor.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Livnat limor.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. --cohesion★talk 09:38, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

Syrian History
[edit]I just got back to Wikipedia after a sabaticle. Those images from SyrianHistory.com are valid for all articles as long as the attribution license is used. Thank you for your compliments about my articles, and for your interest in contributing. Help with Levantine material is always appreciated. --AladdinSE 08:33, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Forgive me, I misspoke. I meant that all images already uploaded are valid for all articles. The administrator of the website says that a few pictures they post are restricted, and you will have to eMail them and ask if the pictures you are interested in are available to Wikipedia via an attribution license. --AladdinSE 05:35, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi. I wonder if you wouldn't mind taking a look at the article above, and expanding it further, or adding any sources appropriate for our English Wikipedia. I've already built it from a one-sentence stub using the sum total of my knowledge on the subject. Specifically, someone raised questions about the etymology of Semitic definite articles that I just couldn't answer. So I'm trying to recruit other Wikipedians with Arabic and Hebrew language or general linguistic expertise, such as yourself. Thanks very much! --Fsotrain09 19:53, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Sikat-yaalom01.png)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Sikat-yaalom01.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 20:33, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
