Contest department

• The contest department has completed its forty-third month of competition. A total of 90 articles were entered by 8 editors. Ed! came first with an astounding 138 points from 21 articles, followed by The Bushranger with 109 points from 22 articles. They receive the WikiChevrons and the Writer's Barnstar respectively. Honorable mentions go to AustralianRupert (66), Ian Rose (66), Parsecboy (57), and Djmaschek (53). The ed17 and D2306 also fielded entries. Please submit any articles you are working on for the January contest.

Awards and honours

• The WikiChevrons with Oak Leaves has been awarded to:
  • Jim Sweeney: In recognition of his contributions to high quality content, outstanding GAN backlog work, and assistance to project members.

• The A-Class medal has been awarded to:
  • Cla68: For Fred Moosally, Battle of the Coral Sea and Japanese aircraft carrier Hōshō.
  • Constantine: For Sviatoslav's invasion of Bulgaria, Battle of Kalavrye and Sack of Amorium.
  • Socrates2008: For 1968 Thule Air Base B-52 crash, Siege of Kimberley, and Battle of Magersfontein.

• The A-Class medal with Oak Leaves has been awarded to:
  • Cam: For List of battlecruisers of Japan, Japanese battleship Kongō, and Japanese battleship Hiei.
  • Hawkeye7: For Thomas C. Kinkaid, Leslie Groves and Kenneth Walker.
  • The ed17: For List of battlecruisers of Japan, Almirante Latorre-class battleship, and ARA Rivadavia.
