The duo is non-notable and its only reference is a link promoting the group. Please see Wikipedia's guideline on lists of people. IronGargoyle (talk) 19:55, 5 December 2014 (UTC)

List of Egyptologists

Since when is a .edu address on the List of Egyptologist's page inaccurate?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wthowerto (talkcontribs) 22:59, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

They are not sufficient because they are simple faculty bios. They say nothing about the notability of the individual. You need reliable, independent sources to establish that. Simply having a .edu domain is not sufficient to make a source reliable and independent. IronGargoyle (talk) 01:29, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

Hello. I removed the contents of Martha Jackson Jarvis in order to create a page with a non-hyphenated title. I wasn't able to remove the hyphen, which if you notice is not used in the artist's official website.Krisvec (talk) 21:31, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

Hi I would like to know why three entries were removed from the list. Specifically one from the Philippines section and two from the Mexico (in Spanish) section. Thanks. Josejmcriollo (talk) 15:15, 12 December 2014 (UTC)

Because the entries were not notable. Please see WP:LISTPEOPLE which details the criteria for including individual names in lists of people. IronGargoyle (talk) 04:20, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

RE: The IP you've just warned

They've made a couple of fairly nasty personal attacks prior to that warning, most of which were in edit summaries. I'd warned them for that and for the unsourced/original research editing, and both of the warnings were blanked. Just a head's up. :) Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 20:40, 19 December 2014 (UTC)

Pizza Underground

Pizza Underground is Corey McCulkin's worst idea ever. Even worse than Home Alone. Source: Real Life — Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.54.222.156 (talk) 03:37, 22 December 2014 (UTC)

That's just your point of view. If there is consensus from critics about this, it can be referenced from verifiable, reliable sources and mentioned in a "reception" section. Otherwise, your statement is a violation of Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy. IronGargoyle (talk) 03:43, 22 December 2014 (UTC)

I am as qualified to critique Pizza Underground as any supposed "critic". Why I could start a blog now and say it's a critic blog. I would also say that the end of the article in which Pizza Underground was booed offstage to a chorus of pint glasses in England is a fairly representative review of Corin McCorklin's awful ideas. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.54.222.156 (talk) 03:48, 22 December 2014 (UTC)

Blogs are not generally considered to be reliable sources. Promoting your own blog would also be a conflict of interest. IronGargoyle (talk) 03:52, 22 December 2014 (UTC)

Well then Mr. Gargoyle, it seems the only resolution would be to remove this article for failing to be noteworthy enough for inclusion on Wikipedia, at least outside of Corwin McConklin's personal page. Without Corky McCullen's name attached, Pizza Party Underground would not have a single mention on this site. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.54.222.156 (talk) 03:55, 22 December 2014 (UTC)

Yalda article

Yalda Persian History.

Unless you are Persian you have no right.telling me what information is right and wrong. Every piece of nonsense posted about Mithraism and Paganism is unjust and illogical. People are destroying Persian History and sourcing it from fake historical websites. I know Persian History and you can't tell me what to edit. If you ban me from posting the truth I will report the ban to Wikipedia for unethical ban on members.

RE: CHANGE TO MOLIERE PAGE IronGargoyle, you removed an external link I added to the Moliere page, under the section "Portrayals of Moliere." The section includes links for one literary biography and three films. I added a link to a stage play about Moliere, 'GOD OF LAUGHTER," which is a drama that portrays Moliere as the central character. It is a published play and I referenced the publisher in the entry.

Why would you allow references (or links) to films about Moliere and not include stage productions?? Was there something missing that would make my entry allowable? Gcbennett76 (talk) 03:38, 23 December 2014 (UTC)

Please review Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy. Wikipedia is not for promoting your own work. In addition, if it was noteworthy, a secondary source (added by someone else) would be the appropriate link and not a link to the publisher. IronGargoyle (talk) 07:14, 23 December 2014 (UTC)

Hi IronGargoyole, you should notice that the top picture in the page of Pecorino grape shows a specific bottle (a specific brand) of this wine. Christadelphians

Hello IronGargoyle,

This is to respond to my edits to the Christadelphians. To be honest if I am to be neutral about something I should tell it honestly. Individuals who claim they are Christians must hold to the trinity, and the Christadelphians do not. Therefore they are heretics. This term is not at all a term to bash them it is just to tell the world what they really are. I would move their page to a page of Christianity under Heretical if such a page existed, but since you seem to be a resonable person I figure you would allow me to keep my original edits, because I have done a LOT of research on this point, and I could cite many references to back up my regular edit if that will help my edit remain.

List of expeditions of Muhammed

Hello , thank you for messaging me. Firstly, I have reasons to believe that the article's info. is false and biased. Most references are unreliable sources. Zakat isn't a tax. Muslims are forbidden from attacking Women,Children, priests and the disabled. I took a look at the http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Occupation_of_Mecca and found that the casualties provided by the article " List of expeditions of Muhammed " don't match with the "Occupation of Mecca" article. the Last battle "Expedition of usama bin zayed" has written on it" Local population "slaughtered" by Muslims, "destroying, burning and taking as many captives as they could" according to Moshe Gil of Cambridge University[338]" Muslims don't slaughter because as I said before, Muslims are forbidden from attacking Women, children, priests, and the disabled. "The killing of innocent non-combatants is forbidden. According to Sunni tradition, ‘Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, the first Caliph, gave these instructions to his armies: “I instruct you in ten matters: Do not kill women, children, the old, or the infirm; do not cut down fruit-bearing trees; do not destroy any town . . . ” (Malik’s Muwatta’, “Kitab al-Jihad.”)". Quran 5:53 says, “… whoso kills a soul, unless it be for murder or for wreaking corruption in the land, it shall be as if he had killed all mankind; and he who saves a life, it shall be as if he had given life to all mankind.”. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety

ref to IIHS edit -

The membership requirements are hidden form the public: Auto insurer's are required to provide the Institute a certain percentage of their profits to become a member, so the more an insurance company profits - the more money IIHS gets from them. Therefore, do not assume IIHS and HLDI studies are neutral. Their studies are going to benefit the insurance industry to not only help generate insurance profits, but allow insurance companies to justify charging consumers higher rates. Proof of this information is simple: request from them the astronomical payment schedules and amounts each insurance company "member" pays to this non-profit organization.

I can understand if you want to remove the part about the former CEO, but membership requirements are important as they show IIHS tests are not necessarily neutral. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.45.118.121 (talk) 22:20, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

Neurotherapy

Hi, please stop erasing my improvements to the neurofeedback page. I am trying to update information on uses and research for ADHD. The preponderance of valid research is supportive. Although the rest of the page is great, the research section is non-neutral and biased toward negative and mixed results from poor studies. This ignores the clearly supportive conclusions of the majority of high quality, peer-reviewed research into neurofeedback for ADHD -- which have been conclusive and consistently positive for decades. Please read the majority of literature to better inform your opinions. I recommend you start with professional peer-reviewed journals found at ISNR.org and AAPB.org.

Thanks, Tom

tdiamond@telus.net

You have a clear conflict of interest in the material and you are adding removing information cited from legitimate peer-reviewed sources. I suggest reviewing WP:NPOV as well. IronGargoyle (talk) 19:05, 17 April 2015 (UTC)

Please check again -- I have not removed any citations. I am a neurotherapist who is well educated on the research in this field. Clearly you are not an expert but an interested citizen -- that's great and your article is much appreciated. Please let experts add their opinion to yours. This is essential to the quality of wikipedia and democracy. I do not wish to play ping pong on the edit revisions, so I invite you to please avoid blanket dismissal and engage in thoughtful discussion that will allow us to reach a reasonable agreement. If I have removed any citations it was by mistake -- please let me know which ones and I will replace.

Please don't make assumptions about my level of expertise. Note also that when you are selling neurofeedback and you are removing the criticisms of it, it certainly should raise a few eyebrows. IronGargoyle (talk) 21:36, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

Please do not make false accusations. I did not remove any citations, critical or otherwise. If I did it was an error--please identify any missing references and I will be happy to replace, or please do so yourself. I only revised the inaccurate and negatively biased characterization of the leading research in the field, which overwhelming supports the efficacy of neurofeedback for ADHD -- as good as medication benefits, safer and much longer lasting. This positive view is held by most mainstream experts in the neurofeedback, as well as some medical authorities, such as the American Academy of Pediatrics. Your critical citations are mostly from secondary courses who have a financial interest in supporting medication and minimizing its competitors. Most original high quality, mainstream research studies by qualified researchers published in reputable peer-reviewed journals have supported neurofeedback for ADHD for many years. Please read original research before rendering an opinion on a whole field of scientific pursuit. I am certainly open to reviewing word choice or adding critical statements that you would like to see, but wholesale deletion of my content is not fair nor respectful. Please respond with respectful disagreement. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.244.32.166 (talk) 18:00, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

Stopping using a company that flogs neurotheraphy [2] as source and reading WP:MEDRS would be a good start. --NeilN talk to me 18:20, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

I'll look for more references, though free reputable links for full text articles are not easy to find -- but I do understand the importance of this and will work on it. However, a second problem is similar to early medical views on the role of diet where, for a long time, there was a big gap between reputable mainstream research findings and secondary source medical reviewers, many of whom held a bias against recognizing diet as an important component of disease and health, despite mountains of high quality research. The current state of neurofeedback should be characterized similarly; that is, one top secondary source conducted a thorough and accurate review of mainstream neurofeedback research and concluded with strong support for neurofeedback as a top level ADHD treatment (The American Academy of Pediatrics, 2012). Yet other medical reviewers have displayed bias by taking a cursory view of the field, cherry-picking a minority of negative results from poorly designed studies, and ignoring the majority of well-established, high quality mainstream research findings on neurofeedback. So, when secondary sources are bias, it is critical to offer other views. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.244.32.50 (talk) 20:09, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

Wykop.pl

Hello, I undid last revision in this page, as it is still being vandalized. Since November, this article was still edited by anonymous trolls (see [3]). Section "Controversies" about films about John Paul II should be deleted in this site. These films weren't made by Wykop, but by karachan.org, a local mutation of 4chan. Some users of Wykop with its chairman, Michal Bialek, checked authors of these films and committed it to prosecutors, so users of karachan.org started to sign the films with Wykop.pl logo. Link about it in Polish [4] Links used in this section are not reliable - none links directly to wykop.pl, one [5] links for a blog, other - to "films" [6]. Everyone can make and post into YouTube a film containing e.g. Wikipedia logo - then we will talk about controversy of Wikipedia? Looking in history of IPs, they often troll in their editions and reasons of editions often contain Polish vulgar words. As you can notice on revision history, due to persistent trolling edition of this site it was blocked since December 2014 for 3 months, but after this time finished, it again become started to vandalizing. So, I think that this site should be again blocked for non-registered IPs, but, at this time, forever, which I requested for [7]. Regards, --CzakNoris (talk) 19:30, 17 April 2015 (UTC)

query regarding tna knockouts page

Hello,

I tried to edit the taryn Terrell bit seeing as she's now equalled kims longest reign of days but I've never used wiki before so I was unsure how to do it.

I normally just go on the page and hit save to update it but I was trying to edit her as the longest reign.

Apologies for that. Just glad you managed to restore it.

Sorry if I caused any trouble :).

Regards,

Liam (I don't have an account so best to use the IP page like you already did.)

Re: April 2015

Hi, I saw your message. Sorry about anything vandalism I seem to have committed, I am on a shared IP. If more vandalism happens from this IP go ahead and do a block, whoever's vandalizing probably won't listen to you. So yeah... sorry man. —166.109.13.7 (talk) 17:23, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

cranial nerves

I have documented everything I've added or deleted on the Talk page so I don't quite understand your comment. Further, the sentence that you put back is this one: he cranial nerves commonly enter and exit the skull together, for example nerves II, III, IV, V, and VI all pass through foramina near the pituitary fossa.[3]

That sentence has no real value - it adds nothing to the Discussion. And actually it is not at all true. Many of the nerves exit the skull separately. I am trying to correct many errors in this important page. I am an anatomy prof who has taught cranial nerve anatomy for more than 34 years.Anatomyczar (talk) 19:19, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

An edit summary is a great place for explaining that. IronGargoyle (talk) 21:32, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

Recent redirect

I think this was a poor choice. The author of the original article has come to Wikipedia for one purpose only: to air her grievances against Miami-Dade Transit and the State of Florida in general. The subject lawsuit was a completely non-notable suit (so much so that I can't even find the results to know whether Molina won or lost her suit), and is not mentioned at the Miami-Dade Transit page, so the redirect serves no purpose. The page either should have been speedily deleted or relegated to AFD. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 15:51, 27 April 2015 (UTC)

Deleted. I didn't think it fit a CSD A7 at first, but on further reflection I think a court case is arguably an organized event. IronGargoyle (talk) 15:55, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
I'm not sure I agree with that reasoning either. I would have tagged it with a PROD rather than a Speedy, but the end effect is the same at this point. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 18:35, 27 April 2015 (UTC)

Scientology Edits

Are you a Scientologist? — Preceding unsigned comment added by G8675309 (talkcontribs) 05:36, 29 April 2015 (UTC)

Um, no. What Scientology edits you are talking about? It's possible I reverted some vandalism on a topic-area article once, but I don't recall ever substantively editing anything in this area. IronGargoyle (talk) 17:46, 29 April 2015 (UTC)

Hey there! Just wanted to let you know that I've increased the duration of your block on this IP from 31 hours to 6 months. The rationale being it is both a school IP and it resumed vandalizing shortly after the previous 3 month block. I hope this was okay! And if not I will quickly restore your block settings. MusikAnimal talk 18:50, 29 April 2015 (UTC)

Not a problem. I'm still getting used to Huggle 3 (not a huge fan, but Huggle 2 officially stopped working for me). Do you know if there's a way to easily display the block log from the program? IronGargoyle (talk) 18:53, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
I was going to bring that up, as I'm Huggle'r myself. I do not believe there is a way to see the block log, or the WHOIS for that matter. Personally I do a rather painstaking task, which is to (1) revert, see that a block is needed, (2) hit back, (3) go to User > Show user contributions (4) check the WHOIS which opens in a new window, (5) use a test version of the soon-to-be-released Twinkle Block module, which shows if there's a block log and (6) pick the appropriate block settings.
That's a lot of work, but the best way I know to do it right now. Perhaps we should make a feature request at WT:HG. Were there any features like this is in Huggle 2? MusikAnimal talk 19:01, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
Yep, Huggle 2.x would pop-up the block log whenever you were past a final warning and about to block an editor. IronGargoyle (talk) 19:04, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
