my edits at the Ardian Vehbiu page
[edit]hi Dream of Horses,
My name is Ardian Vehbiu, I am a writer. I just made a few updates on my wiki page, which is usually maintained by someone else (and who I can't contact right now). Mostly added information about a couple of books I have published recently. Apparently something wasn't right with a link that I added and which was rejected.
please advise, Ardian

Care to explain?
[edit]Care to explain why you removed my report at WP:ANV? I just reported that editor not too long ago [1]. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 18:08, 2 March 2018 (UTC)
- @TheAmazingPeanuts: On my end, it says that you reported the vandal at 9:54 AM pacific time and it's now 4:24 PM pacific time as we speak. Unless there's some technical error that's changing the timestamp (which I won't re-remove in case there is), that means that the report is very much stale and non-actionable at this point. I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 00:25, 3 March 2018 (UTC)
- I live in Central America. I made the report at 5:22 PM central time before you removed it at 5:48 PM central time. That report wasn't there for that long. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 18:56, 2 March 2018 (UTC)
- @TheAmazingPeanuts: How odd that the timestamp displayed as it did, then. My apologies. -- I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 03:09, 3 March 2018 (UTC)
- That's okay, the editor that I reported have been blocked indefinitely. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 02:17, 3 March 2018 (UTC)

Erroneous edit reversal.
[edit]Hello I dream of horses,
I believe you mistakenly reversed a recent of mine to the page for Frank Rosenthal. In the first paragraph of the first section I changed the sentence:
"Frank Lawrence "Lefty" Rosenthal (June 12, 1929 – October 13, 2008) was a professional sports better, former Las Vegas casino executive, and organized crime associate."
to:
"Frank Lawrence "Lefty" Rosenthal (June 12, 1929 – October 13, 2008) was a professional sports bettor, former Las Vegas casino executive, and organized crime associate."
The noun "better" is defined in a few ways, but none of them are "a person who places bets". That word is the noun "bettor".
My edit corrected an incorrect word usage and it should not have been reversed.

Changes related to Thirush Kamini
[edit]Hi @I dream of horses:,
Thirush Kamini is the given name. Murugesan Dickeshwashankar is her father's name. Tamils don't have surname, but use father's name as surname. Tamils use initials most of the time like M D Thirush Kamini if it is written using initials. But, when written as the full name, it should be written as Thirush Kamini Murugesan Dickeshwashankar according to the Tamil naming convention. I know many of sites just expand the initials following western convention. But, it doesn't apply here.

changes made to Sharon Louden
[edit]I have reverted your changes back to my original changes. You removed every update to Sharon Louden's page I made - all of which are accurate and necessary to bring the page up-to-date. You will clearly see that my changes were appropriate to a living Biography, so I honestly have no idea why you would remove every edit I made. Many of the links were old and some of the information is no longer relevant. I dream of horses

Monte Rosa
[edit]The page for Monte Rosa has a block on the right-hand-side which contains Naming, and under that, Translation. This says that the translation of "Monte Rosa" is "Mount Glacier".
This translation is simply wrong. Rosa means Pink. The Italian name for a glacier is ghiacciaio.
You reverted my correction, and I don't understand why. You suggested that my edit was not constructive. Perhaps you can explain how correcting an error isn't constructive? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 14.203.27.33 (talk) 00:44, 3 March 2018 (UTC)

A message from ALWMaltbie
[edit]I dream of horses
Monday, March 5, 2018 @ 12:01 pm ET
Hello, I dream of horses,
Thank you so much for offering to lend a helping hand to my getting our company's Wikipedia page started. I'm not even qualified to be a novice! I was asked by my boss to try and get at least our company's name and date of origin, etc. up and running so at least if a client Googles us, we'd have a Wikipedia link started.
I have to admit, I am very confused how to submit properly or what to do to prove our company is legitimate. I'm confused by the process and read an article about the difficulty of getting a page started which scared me even more! I'm new to this company and our sales marketing department so this is all foreign to me.
Kubik Maltbie is a company responsible for fabricating museum exhibits and shows. Our most recent work was with the Museum of the Bible and the Museum of the American Revolution.
I dream of horses, could you please help me? Even to get a bit of information up and approved, please?
Thank you for your time and your compassion!
Best, Audra
Marketing Assistant at Kubik Maltbie, Mt. Laurel New Jersey
ALWMaltbie (talk) 17:02, 5 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Hamtechperson, Robert McClenon, and ALWMaltbie: I've notified the two other people who have reviewed your draft, just so we're all clear on communication.
- The first thing you should do is to say that you are working for Kubik Maltbie on your user page, and have been asked by your boss to write an article on the company. You could also do it on the talk page of the draft, or in both places. The reason for this is so you are complying with the terms of use of Wikipedia in a way that's both obvious to more experienced Wikipedia editors who would know of this policy, and also convenient to you.
- Wikipedia is supposed to be an encyclopedia that's updated quickly. When people try to use it for marketing purposes--sometimes to take advantage of Wikipedias' search engine optimization--what happens nearly all of the time is a draft or article is written that is spun positively, and fun to read. Ideally, an encyclopedia is supposed to be clinically neutral, and dry, perhaps to the point of being boring. Whether the information is positive, negative, or neither, if it's out there and sourced, it'll probably be found in an encyclopedia. You could see why a conflict of interest can arise, or at least be perceived.
- It would probably be better to try to boost your online presence elsewhere, both on a website owned by Kubik Maltbie, and also on various social media websites. Barring that, you could try improving the draft by trying to find reliable, independent sources that significantly mention the company. Good luck. [edit]Hello I dream of horses,
Thank you so much for the tips on how to get started for my company Kubik Maltbie. We are trying to improve our web presence with social media pages such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and LinkedIn. We are also working on a new website.
I have gone ahead and placed on my talk page that I am a worker and my boss is asking me to set this up for our company, as you suggested.
I will also try and follow your other wonderful tips to try and at least get our company's name on Wikipedia. It'll be a simple but big first step!

[edit]I saw you reverted an edit I made to Airborne March. (I don't know how to link to it here for your convenience; sorry.) You note that this edit "did not appear constructive" but I'm not sure why. I was trying to make the language more neutral by removing phrases like, "to honour those who fought for our freedom." I also converted some numerals from European standards ("34.800 people") to Anglophone ones ("34,800") and fixed some grammar issues. Did I do something wrong? I just want to understand what happened, since I'm an occasional editor of minor things like this. Thanks! 2601:448:C500:1F53:21C:B3FF:FE74:2848 (talk) 01:29, 22 March 2018 (UTC)
- It's fine that you couldn't find a way to link the edits; you linked the articles, and I was able to find the edits that way.
- After reviewing the edits again, it would appear that even though you said you were making the article more neutral, you were actually making it less neutral and more informal in an attempt to make it more fun to read. A common mistake. Wikipedia is, at the end of the day, an encyclopedia, albeit one that can be updated quickly. Encyclopedias aren't exactly known for being thrilling to read.
- Perhaps read over our neutrality policies for further information. -- I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 01:57, 22 March 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for your response. I'm not sure how to find any support for what you're saying in WP:NPOV though. As far as I can tell, a phrase like "those who fought for our freedom" needs to be in a quote or qualified as the perspective of someone discussed in the article, not put forward as fact. This example seems to reflect Dutch nationalism, which should be discussed on WP without being endorsed or assumed.
- You didn't respond to the issues about number format and usage, so I made a minor edit just for the numbers, which I hope is uncontroversial.

The Race for Theory
Hi Susun, I'm new to Wikipedia and learning how to navigate talk pages, so I hope you see this! I'm trying to understand if I should just move the discussion of "The Race for Theory" to Barbara Christian's career section. I have seen Wikipedia pages that create new sections for important concepts/pieces of writing by the subject in question, but if that is not the structure that Wikipedia intends, I can certainly just move this to another section. I'm aware of secondary material that builds on and analyzes Christian's work, but to highlight the original text, I'd just like to add a discussion of that to her Wikipedia page. I didn't see a discussion of when different sections of a page should be created in the brief intro to how to use the site, but I may have missed it. If you know of any discussions of these guidelines, I'd be happy to read them! Wcinnamon (talk) 23:56, 23 March 2018 (UTC)

A message from Fossilos92
[edit]Hello, I remove Poekilopleuron bucklandii from the "1838 in paleontology" page because the genus and species were created in 1836 (not 1838). See recent paper by Brignon (2018) New historical data on the first dinosaurs found in France. BSGF - Earth Sciences Bulletin 189: 4. https://doi.org/10.1051/bsgf/2018003. Poekilopleuron bucklandii were validly introduced in the following paper :
Eudes-Deslongchamps J-A. 1836. Caen : A. Hardel & Paris : Dérache, pp. 14–25.
I have added Poekilopleuron bucklandii in the "1836 in paleontolgy" page. It should be removed from the 1838 one.
Thank you.

[edit]Hello, very recently you changed my page I am trying to edit for a school project. It was Diurnality. I posted the work and I was about to explain my edits in the talk page. Unless I was supposed to write this somewhere else? But I need to have the work be shown in the actual article for my project. Please leave it or let me know where else I should explain it. It all should be properly referenced, and is great improvement from what is on there now. Thank you. Hi, could you possibly assist with reverting User:144.136.88.8 contributions that constitute as vandalism? See contributions here. I have reported the user here. I have removed vandalism from Road_signs_in_South_Africa. I noticed you came across this user and their vandalism too.

- @Waddie96: There's nothing to do except keep warning them and reporting the behavior to WP:AIV/blocking them once they persist beyond a level four warning. Even then, with IPs, you have to be careful that it's actually the same person, so often the level four warning has to have been given the last day or so to "stick". [edit]You reverted some of my edits to the GALA Choruses wikipedia article. I had removed the double square brackets from some choruses that do not have wikipedia pages and added external links instead. Many of the choruses in the list have links to their websites (and you only removed the half a dozen links I added), which seems like a reasonable thing to do in this kind of list. So now I have removed the double square brackets from choruses that do not have wiki pages, and I added one chorus. I guess links could be added to the external link section of the article but that seems like a tedious repetition to me. Math-ghamhainn (talk) 01:07, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Math-ghamhainn: If a chorus doesn't have a Wikipedia article, there's no need for it to be listed in GALA Choruses. -- I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 01:10, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
- @I dream of horses: What is your rationale for that statement? I don't understand. Math-ghamhainn (talk) 01:59, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Math-ghamhainn: The rationale is that we can't list every existing GALA chorus in the world, so we list only those who have passed notability and have a Wikipedia article. I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 03:05, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
- @I dream of horses: What is your rationale for that statement? I don't understand. Math-ghamhainn (talk) 01:59, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
- @I dream of horses: It is possible to list most choruses, and I was only adding links to choruses already on the list in the wiki article (except one that I added). Since I was researching the kinds of names that LGBT choruses use, I found the list very useful as wikipedia should be. But, I guess you think you know best. I don't feel like discussing it further. In regards to my edit to MediaWorks New Zealand, the edit was actually made because the information currently provided on the page is out of date. The fact is Coromandel FM no longer exists. This has been the case since at least 2015, when MediaWorks rebranded Coromandel FM and established as part of their existing More FM network. The evidence of this can be seen quite clearly... If you head to coromandelfm.co.nz, which actually happens to be the Coromandel FM website, it should redirect to the More FM website, and more specifically to the Coromandel regional page on said website.
This article from New Zealand's own SunLive local news also explains this. Just saying a bit of research would have saved some trouble here. Will take the liberty of reverting changes once again, though. A little heads up for future reference, I do actually live in New Zealand, and this is in regards to a station that I listen to and follow religiously, so chances are I'd know this http://m.sunlive.co.nz/mobile/news/109601-coromandel-fm-farewells-listeners.html
It also incorrectly states that Times FM Orewa is one of their remaining local brands. This is also false as of 2015. That station, situated in the Rodney district, is now More FM Rodney. So will also be reverting changes to reflect this, as I had done previously. NZConnor (talk) 09:17, 25 March 2018 (UTC)

As well as my changes to the games played and goals scored for Olympiacos are an assured fact. New Page Review Newsletter No.10
[edit]ACTRIAL:
- ACTRIAL's six month experiment restricting new page creation to (auto)confirmed users ended on 14 March. As expected, a greatly increased number of unsuitable articles and candidates for deletion are showing up in the feed again, and the backlog has since increased already by ~30%. Please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day.
Paid editing
- Now that ACTRIAL is inoperative pending discussion, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary.
Subject-specific notability guidelines
- The box at the right contains each of the subject-specific notability guidelines, please review any that are relevant BEFORE nominating an article for deletion.
- Reviewers are requested to familiarise themselves with the new version of the notability guidelines for organisations and companies. A further discussion is currently taking place at: Can a subject specific guideline invalidate the General Notability Guideline?
Nominate competent users for Autopatrolled
- While patrolling articles, if you find an editor that is particularly competent at creating quality new articles, and that user has created more than 25 articles (rather than stubs), consider nominating them for the 'Autopatrolled' user right HERE.
News
- The next issue Wikipedia's newspaper The Signpost has now been published after a long delay. There are some articles in it, including ACTRIAL wrap-up that will be of special interest to New Page Reviewers. Don't hesitate to contribute to the comments sections. Cameron Mizell
[edit]Hello you've recently removed my edit for cameron mizell's wikipedia page. That edit I made was instructed by Cameron Mizell himself and I was asked to write that up for him, for his new company that he has launched recently. If you could please put that edit back up that would be greatly appreciated. (@I dream of horses:)
- @Jdvaleri: You need to do one or two things:
- Reveal that you are being paid by Cameron Mizell, if you are, on your user page.
- Edit in a clinical and neutral fashion. -- I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 01:42, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
I'am not being paid by Cameron, I work for his new company. He had asked me to make changes to his wikipedia page and add the new company in. I have saved texts of him asking me to do so. Also what do you mean by clinical and neutral fashion? Theres no cursing, its explaining the company and how/who it was founded by and what its doing for the music industry. (@I dream of horses:) Just tell me what i need to exactly fix or add and i will thank you.
- @Jdvaleri: 1) See WP:PAID 2) "clinical and neutral fashion", that is, not adding useless and empty puffery. --NeilN talk to me 01:53, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
- Forgot to add, everything you add needs to be cited to a reliable source. --NeilN talk to me 02:00, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) @Jdvaleri: Like NeilN is saying, according to Wikipedias' terms of use, if you work for a company that wants you to edit/create its' Wikipedia page, you "count" as a paid editor and need to announce it; the most ideal place to do so is your user page, which is why I suggested and linked to it in my previous message. You could also do it on the talk page of Camerons' article, or do both. Technically, you could also include in edit summaries, but the character limits for those make it less than ideal, and I'd suggest using them to actually summarize your edit.
- Basically, if you're adding opinionated "Morla Collective is wonderful" wording that would be more appropriate for a pamphlet or personal website, something paid editors tend to be trained in doing (in your defense!), then you probably aren't writing in a way that's appropriate for an encyclopedia.
- You were saying that the company is doing things in the "absolute best way possible", and that the artists that the company is helping are all "undeniably talented" and being educated in a "undeniably correct" manner. All of these are opinions that I specifically pointed out, there are probably others, and Wikipedia needs to stick to the facts. I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 02:04, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
Ok I will make sure to meet the rules of wikiepedia and change my edit and make words more neautral and add citied to the quotes and more clinical. But I never said "morla is wonderful" I made sure that everything wasn't opinated and just talking about the company and what it's doing for the industry. Leeds City Region
[edit]Leeds is a big city that does not need exaggeration to make it bigger than what it is, the city population is the 2nd biggest in the UK but that is it, it doesn't have a greater or metro population as West Yorkshire is made up for now in five councils each running for the people that live there, each with their own crime services, education and healthcare.
Leeds is the influential council in West Yorkshire but only to Bradford and Wakefield to some extent, Kirklees and Calderdale consider themselves completely independent from Leeds and closer to Manchester, Calderdale even shares resources with Manchester and has no affiliation with Leeds.
South Yorkshire (Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley and Doncaster) all consider themselves as part of Sheffield City Region
Harrogate in North Yorkshire consider itself a part of York, even Wetherby in Leeds consider itself a part of York.
Wikipedia is a great and unique site like no other, but it is very easy to hide the truth, create false truths and exaggerate points.
Officially there is no such thing as a Leeds or Sheffield City Region, the fact is that the British Government hasn't authorized a devolution for Leeds or Sheffield, once the devolution is authorized then West Yorkshire will be a part of Leeds with Calderdale joining Manchester and Wetherby joining York; and South Yorkshire and Chesterfield will be a part of the Sheffield city region.

- Next time, use edit summaries. -- I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 15:11, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
I have never needed to use any edit summary to rearrange material. But I did on this last edit.
And I must say that you wasted no time to undo an edit. Did you ever consider that someone may be in the middle of a total edit, consisting of edits on individual sections, before jumping in like that?107.185.97.165 (talk) 15:18, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
- Often times, removal of material by new or logged-out editors is either a mistake or vandalism; it did occur to me, but I've become a cynic and rely on edit summaries to determine faith and intention. That's why you need to use edit summaries with every edit. I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 15:25, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
But couldn't you wait at least a few minutes before interacting? It's disheartening, to say the least, to someone who has yet to complete a total edit. And it's not as if you can't recover the previous edit, which you always can.107.185.97.165 (talk) 15:35, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
- If I wait a few minutes, I can come back and find a blank article, whether or not it's intentional. This is reversible, but more disruptive than a remove paragraph or section. So, no, I can't wait. I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 15:38, 14 March 2018 (UTC)

ACTRIAL - next steps for the Future of AfC & NPP
[edit]Hello I dream of horses/2018, thank you for your efforts reviewing New Page and AfC submissions and your support for the ACTRIAL initiative.
The conclusion to the ACTRIAL report commissioned by the Wikimedia Foundation strongly reiterates our long-time on going requirements for the NPP and AfC processes to be improved. Within minutes of the trial being switched off, the feed was swamped with inappropriate creations and users are being blocked already.
This is now the moment to continue to collaborate with the WMF and their developers to bring the entire Curation system up to date by making a firm commitment to addressing the list of requirements to the excellent suite of tools the WMF developed for Curation. Some of these are already listed at Phabricator but may need a boost.
The conclusions also make some recommendations for AfC.
A place to discuss these issues initially is here where you are already a task force member.

Draft:Disney Enterprises, declined by you January 2, 2018
[edit]This deaft, declined by you January 2, 2018, is a copy of this Wikipedia article. The editor has also engaged in other unproductive editing: https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php.title=Talk:Martin_Luther_King_Jr.&diff=830482758&oldid=830457706, for example. The MLK edit popped up on my watch list—when I scanned other edits I saw the suspiciously fluent draft and checked for copy vio. Thought you might like to follow up. — Neonorange (Phil) 03:41, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Neonorange: The weird thing is that in its current state, the draft is still declinable. So, it's not going into mainspace as is.
- The link to the edit seems broken. I'm getting an error message. -- I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 04:01, 15 March 2018 (UTC) (template fixed at 04:02, 15 March 2018 (UTC))
- I dream of horses, apologize. I should not have been up that late—wrong diff—and malformed.
- This is an actual example.
- The first paragraph of the latest version of the draft (declined by David.moreno72 March 15, 2018) is
The Walt Disney Company, commonly known as Disney, is an American diversified multinational mass media and entertainment conglomerate, headquartered at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California. It is the world's second largest media conglomerate in terms of revenue, after Comcast. Disney was founded on October 16, 1923 – by brothers Walt Disney and Roy O. Disney – as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, and established itself as a leader in the American animation industry before diversifying into live-action film production, television, and theme parks.

- I will drop a note to David.moreno72 also. I notified you because I have no experience with AfC, you have almost 100 times more edits here than I, and you your user name is great! I'd hate to see this editor get much further down the road without an explanation of what writing an artcle requires (User talk:CoolAkramTV is 15 edits past your decline). — Neonorange (Phil) 13:13, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Neonorange: No need to ping me on my own talk page.
- So, I predict either the editor will eventually get blocked for vandalism, or will give up on the draft after being declined enough times. I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 20:39, 15 March 2018 (UTC)

- @WPensi: I've opened up a community discussion about whether the article should be deleted based on the lack of proper secondary referencing. We can't be certain if it'll get deleted at this point, but if it's not deleted, it'll likely get improved. I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 21:08, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
A message from 2600:8803:BA00:47C0:242E:2768:9316:A2D6
[edit]I just think its disrespectful to have Creationism labeled as "myth" when the Big Bang Theory, while a great television show, is one of the most flawed explanations of how the world came to be and it should be labeled a myth as well. But , thats what people think of Christianity today. We're all just looney tunes who believe in some mystic deity. Meanwhile, "scientists" put about 100 theories per yer that they can't prove , most notably, M or "string" theory, and to them, even though they can't prove shit, that is more plausible. This country and world will be over in about 50-60 years anyway so I don't know why I care.

- @SamanthaJuanita46: To paraphrase C.Freds' message on your own talk page:
Not only is it sourced to Kirtland's web page, but the tone feels like the reader is reading Kirtland's web page, not a neutral article. One of the major issues is the tone, because of it's promotion of online courses.

Nee your help
[edit]Hi, I am a new contributor. I have been trying to edit the article Raju. I provided all reliable sources for making those edits but there is a particular person who goes by the name Sitush. He is ignoring all my sources and just pushing his views. I want to raise a complaint against that person as he is not allowing to develop that article. Can you please let me know how I can complain against him. These people are dangerous and they should be banned from WikipediaSharkslayer87 (talk) 16:42, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Sharkslayer87: Maybe talk to Sitush before you start talk about how dangerous they are, and suggesting that they be banned. -- I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 01:18, 20 March 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks. I had already replied to them and have indicated that I will reply properly to their further comments in a few hours. However, I'm afraid this is already looking like a POV-pushing exercise and maybe even a sock. Other experienced contributors have been reverting their efforts at various articles and categories and my own patience is not likely to be particularly lengthy in this sort of situation, especially with the history that the article in question has had. Alerting SpacemanSpiff because this may end up needing admin assistance. - Sitush (talk) 02:22, 20 March 2018 (UTC)
I understand what kind of replies you will make. I am pretty sure that you will continue pushing your POV. When you don't want to listen to the other point of view, you will call them Sock Puppets. May I know your credentials? Are you a historian who can decide which article is correct and which is wrong? I don't want to be rude but I want to know whom I can complaint about this rudeness from these Admins. I posted a lot of references and even without reading any of them you have already called them useless references. I am very sure you will discard all those references and continue calling me a sock puppet. Sharkslayer87 (talk) 02:48, 20 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Sharkslayer87 and Sitush: There's no one 'formal' to complain to, I'm afraid. Glad you two are talking. I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 02:59, 20 March 2018 (UTC)
@I dream of horses: Young Ones edit
[edit]Hi- you contacted me because I removed some text from The Young Ones (TV series) Wiki page. Some of the information/back stories about the characters doesn't exist/originate in the TV series but was added later in spin-offs. Neil is called Neil Pye in The Young Ones book and possibly in the TV series, but the other middle names and back story were added at a later date by Nigel Planer in his Neil spin-off book of the dead but aren't part of the original canon by the Young Ones writers. Hope that clarifies.
