[edit]Sorry, i do not know who you are and what authority you have to re-edit the Penang Free School page to remove content which is relevant to us. Are you a Free School alumnus with information on the school's history? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ssquah (talk • contribs) 04:23, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
- @Ssquah: I think you meant to direct that at Drmies. However, please realize that Wikipedia has policies on the tone that you can use to write--you need to make the tone neutral, clinical, or even boring. If you have difficulty writing in a way that's neutral, you may have a conflict of interest. -- I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 04:34, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you, I dream of horses. Ssquah, on your talk page I pointed you to Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools/Article guidelines; you would do well to read it. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 12:14, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
This article was most likely written as an ad for Jinan Supertime Technology Co., Ltd. The one spam link on the page was: http://www.jntime.com/en/index.php I am not familiar with a "CNC plate drilling machine", but think the article is not general enough. i.e. "6000 RPM max", specific controller: "Siemens or Fagor" I removed some spam links. Should it just be speedy or AfDed? I did un-deadend it. Cheers (plz ping) Jim1138 (talk) 09:33, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
- @Jim1138: I think it's actually a good candidate for WP:PROD at this point, actually. If the prod template is removed, then at that point you can AfD.
- I added sections as well; however, I'd agree that it's poorly written. -- I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 09:38, 3 August 2016 (UTC)

I'm wondering why you removed an uncategorised tag from this uncategorised article and notice that others are wondering the same about other articles? Paste Let’s have a chat. 14:13, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
Uncategorised
[edit]Hallo, You've removed this from 3 articles on my watchlist today,(Harrow Independent College, Independent Insurance, Gold Coast Best and Fairest) although they have no categories apart from stub categories, which as I understand it don't count - if the article was expanded past a stub it would lose them, and still need categories. Please don't remove the uncat template from articles which have no non-stub categories. Thanks. PamD 12:15, 3 August 2016 (UTC)

[edit]FYI I undid an edit of yours on Human Umbilical Artery Endothelial Cells. I wasn't actually trying to undo YOUR edit. It was the edit you fixed, that I was targeting. - @Moongateclimber: I usually skip the article in such instances; perhaps put
sic
around the word to prevent such mistakes from now on. -- I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 17:13, 3 August 2016 (UTC)- I'll consider
sic
in general (thanks for the tip) but in this instance, it's obviously Italian from the context. It isn't reasonable to put sic next to any Italian word which is spelled similar to, but different from, english, is it :-) Moongateclimber (talk) 05:44, 4 August 2016 (UTC)- @Moongateclimber: Actually, I've done this in similar contexts in the past, but to each their own. -- I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 05:02, 5 August 2016 (UTC)

A message from JanatAMANNGroup
[edit]Hello I dream of horses !
I have edited the article "Amann & Söhne". I already edited the German version of the article. Now I wanted to upload the same pictures that I used for the German version. However, the program tells me that the same file has already been uploaded. I don't exactly get how I can access all the images that I uploaded for the old article so that I can also implement them in the new article. I am aware it has something to do with WikiCommons, but yet I have no clue how to find them and insert them to my article (even though they are already inserted in the German version). Can you help me with this? Thanks in advance for your reply --JanatAMANNGroup (talk) 14:05, 12 August 2016 (UTC) JanatAMANNGroup (talk) 14:05, 12 August 2016 (UTC)
- @JanatAMANNGroup: You don't need to upload it again. You can use the same file name, just use the File: prefix. So . -- I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 14:11, 12 August 2016 (UTC)

Adoption...
[edit]Hi, my name is Nathan (chefNathan). I was wondering if you would consider adopting me. I'm currently learning wikimarkup, as I would rather understand how to edit from scratch than use VE. I've made a couple of simple edits, just testing the water so to speak but I would love to help create pages for links that don't yet exist, and improve grammar, and sentence structure throughout wikipedia. I have a long way to go, and I also use my phone for everything so edits can take a little while! Anyway, hope to hear from you soon! ChefNathan (talk) 13:02, 17 August 2016 (UTC) ChefNathan (talk) 13:02, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
- @ChefNathan: I'm not willing to adopt at the moment (my impressions is that people who adopt new editors typically have an "adoption school" that adoptees go through, something that would take a good deal of time to both create and check up on). However, I am willing to answer any questions that you have.
- Going through articles for creation and a draft process might be a good idea for your first article; also, the guild of copyeditors would probably always appreciate assistance. -- I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 13:18, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
@i dream of horses No that's fine. I only asked because you put the message on my page welcoming me to wikipedia and it talked about adoption. I'm completely happy to go it alone. Once I've learnt wikimarkup I will not need help anyway. Thanks ChefNathan (talk) 14:22, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
A message from 73.236.176.49
[edit]hello I Dream of Horses, I currently work for Peony Entertainment and we are in charge of the Regatta. I was in the process of editing the page to update it to what we feel is a more accurate representation of the event. The page that currently exists is outdated and has information on it that we feel does not give a full representation to a reader about what the regatta is and what it was this past year. I was going to include all of the deleted information in a new heading simply titled history. I understand you're attempting to ensure accuracy and legitimacy across wikipedia and as someone who is a constant user but never an editor let me know if there is a better way for me to go about this process. 73.236.176.49 (talk) 17:25, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
- A better way to go about it is to
- Register an account--a good name for this account would be in the format of "John/Jane Doe at Regatta".
- Gather reliable sources to back up the current information. Ideally, these sources wouldn't be paid for/written by Regatta or their competition.
- Go to the talk page, and using request edit, request someone else do it for you.
- Using an edit summary for now on would also help.
- This is how you go about writing for Wikipedia when you have an interest, financially or personally, in having an article being written in a non-encyclopedic matter, either negatively or positively. -- I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 17:36, 17 August 2016 (UTC)

Hi It sounds really stupid, but I can't work out where to write on my own talk page. Also, I have a notice on the Scarlet & Gold page I am writing that says "This article is an orphan, as no other articles link to it. Please introduce links to this page from related articles;" However I thought I'd done that - and in my "Notices" it says "A link was made from Lorae Parry to Scarlet & Gold." Is this not a Linked Article? Katejs (talk) 21:08, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
Katejs (talk) 21:08, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
- @Katejs: Not stupid questions at all. Wikipedia can be hard to figure out for some.
- There should be an "edit" button towards the top of most pages, including your own talk page. I'm guessing it's at the top right for you, unless you've changed your skin (you probably haven't).
- You could remove the orphan tag at any time, technically, but you should try to link the article from three other articles before you remove the tag. -- I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 23:32, 18 August 2016 (UTC)

[edit]Dear I dream of horses. I work with the person you wrote the Wiki account of (1) and they say the information is incorrect and want it removed as it serves those who want to do a smear campaign against him. As the information is incorrect, I edited the post and removed all the content that is inaccurate. I will be deleting it once again, and I would appreciate if it remains deleted. FreeJustice (talk) 10:59, 22 August 2016 (UTC)

However, please mind our conflict of interest policies; a summary of them can be found here. - (talk page watcher) Hi FreeJustice! Thank you for taking the time to leave a message with your concerns and for allowing us to discuss Wikipedia's policies and to assist you with the proper way to proceed with a resolution to your grievances. Because you are employed with the article subject, it is highly discouraged behavior to edit or make changes to this article; your personal involvement with this person represents a conflict of interest with this article and hence nearly eliminates the ability for edits to reflect a neutral point of view. According to this policy, all edits made to Wikipedia articles (regardless of what the topic or article subject is) must reflect a neutral point of view - including the removal of content. In order to properly address your concerns, you need to discuss it with others and have an editor who is not involved with the article subject make the appropriate changes. This is done by starting a discussion on the article's talk page here. Continuing to remove the content in a back-and-fourth fashion constitutes edit warring, which is not allowed; doing so will only make it harder on yourself to have your issues addressed. I agree that one or more sources cited in the article appear questionable (such as the reference to Wikileaks); I think that there may be content that should be removed - I'll need to go over the article and read everything. In the end, you need to discuss this. You should also know that your removal also included sections of the article that were not content, such as the list of references cited, and the article category listings. Starting a talk page discussion is the best way to have your issues addressed and Wikipedia's policies and guidelines followed. If you have any more questions, you're welcome to ask them. I'll be happy to assist you further. I'll await your discussion on the article's talk page. Thank you for understanding, and I hope you have a great rest of your day. :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 01:19, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
- FreeJustice - I agree that there are issues with the article content. I've removed it for now and started a discussion about it here. Thank you for being so patient and professional, and for bringing it to our attention instead of reverting it yourself; it upholds NPOV, which is extremely important -- as well as allows us to handle the issue per BLP. You did the right thing :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 08:08, 23 August 2016 (UTC)

[edit]To: "I Dream of Horse" Thank yu for your invitation to talk. I am sad to say that some people don't respect liability or the truth. 1) "Jay Skidmore" must leave that photo off my page. I went through a great deal of difficulty getting approval for the photo on the page now, and this guy sounds like he gets his kicks by making trouble. 2) The name of the film I did was "Up Your Ladder". If Jay is into porn, perhaps he saw some awful thing someone did to the original production. Please help me get rid of these guys. Feels like bullies and trolls, and I have too much respect for Wikipedia to do this AGIAN! Thank You!!!! Cindy Morgan
Cindymorganinfo (talk) 00:12, 30 August 2016 (UTC)
- @Cindymorganinfo: I looked through the articles' history, and couldn't find anyone that contained "Jay" in their username.
- If you prefer that a certain photo of yourself be deleted (or, more honestly, hidden from public view) from the Wikimedia Foundation servers, you can contact volunteer response team. I think this would be an issue about a biography of a living person.
- Also, please use edit summaries, and review our conflict of interest polices, as has been previously suggested to you (here's a summary of them: WP:PSCOI). Also, most of the time, you need to be going to the talk page of the article about you, and using the request edit template. If something honestly cannot wait a few hours/days, then you can revert it, and shoot an email to the volunteer response team afterwards; however, I would think most edits you would want to happen can wait. -- I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 00:23, 30 August 2016 (UTC)

Thorstein Heins
[edit]Hi! I am a COI editor working for a PR firm engaged by Thorsten Heins. I have prepared a new draft of his article that corrects a few errors and adds substantially more detail. Would you be willing to review my draft and make the copy go live if you feel it is constructive? The copy is in my sandbox. You can see it here [2]. Please let me know what you think. Thanks. - @Tracerzoom1973: It's better that you go to Talk:Thorsten Heins and put a similar message under request edit; someone else will integrate your sandbox into the article if appropriate. -- I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 06:33, 31 August 2016 (UTC)
