An article you recently created, The Center for Election Science, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:The Equal Vote Coalition, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:23, 7 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Schlagball

[edit]

Hi, thought I'd mention that Protoball.org's article is a translation from Wikipedia and since Wikipedia isn't a reliable source we can't cite it. (We could however copy their article over here since works derived from Wikipedia are also CC BY-SA.) The only thing lacking are sources, usually one can copy the sources from the version one is translating from. See you around, – Thjarkur (talk) 19:44, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I had to post-edit you here. Don't hard-code your own "section headings" with boldfaced text; instead, create a new section, as I did with In other sports. Spike-from-NH (talk) 01:32, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I can do that, but I thought it ought to go in the "See also" section as a subsection, as it's very tangential to the main article. GreekApple123 (talk) 02:00, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Comparison of baseball and cricket, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Stump and Bases. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:23, 25 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, GreekApple123. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "The Equal Vote Coalition".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 17:52, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Baseball5 field diagram.PNG. However, it is currently missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 05:59, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:Baseball5 field diagram.PNG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Baseball5 field diagram.PNG. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 14:12, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Baseball5 field diagram.PNG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Baseball5 field diagram.PNG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 14:30, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

September 2021

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on USA cricket. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. MB 19:58, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

My three edits do not constitute edit warring. The first one is a retarget to "USA Cricket", the second is a reversion of your reversion with a justification, and the | third one is a retarget to an entirely new target of "Cricket in the United States". GreekApple123 (talk) 21:43, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Two editors have disagreed with changing the target of this redirect. The appropriate action is to open a WP:RFD and seek consensus. MB 21:45, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Just because two editors disagree with changing the target to one particular location ("USA Cricket") doesn't automatically mean they disagree with changing that target to some other location. Your reason for the disagreement was solely based on existing hatnotes in articles, and the other editor who disagreed ("User:Amakuru") said he believed "United States national cricket team" was a more plausible target than "USA Cricket", not that it was the most plausible target. So, since neither of you have stated disagreements to changing the target to something entirely different, it is essentially a situation where none of the previous edits in the chain matter. Therefore, it is okay to keep being bold and changing the target of the redirect until one of you, or some other editor, disagrees with the whole idea of changing the redirect target. GreekApple123 (talk) 21:56, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Ultimate Kho Kho

[edit]

Hi @GreekApple123. I just went through the draft article Draft:Ultimate Kho Kho and made a few edits. I believe that most of the info on the article is from before the season started. It would help if you could add 'season results' and 'awards' section in the article like Indian Premier League and Indian Super League. For awards section, you can see here. Dhruv edits (talk) 17:23, 7 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

After reading your message, I edited it, and I believe I have added all of the information you requested. GreekApple123 (talk) 22:51, 7 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@GreekApple123. Thanks. The draft looks much more balanced now and I believe it should be accepted when it is reviewed. I think the 'Rules' section is quite over-linked with 7 refs. Try to remove some of them. It would be better if there were 2-3 citations mentioned at the top that cover all the rules. Dhruv edits (talk) 02:33, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The original reason that the article was moved to draftspace was because it had very few references. Since I don't want to risk the article being denied entry into mainspace, I would rather be cautious and over-link, and then let the draft reviewer remove any citations they believe are superfluous :) GreekApple123 (talk) 02:45, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"Turkey" vs. "Türkiye"

[edit]

Hi! I saw you used the name "Türkiye" as the name of the country generally known in English as "Turkey" in your recent edit.

While this is indeed the correct name for that country in the Turkish language, in spite of the Erdoğan government's proclamation and the United Nations' adoption of their preferred name, the English-language WP:COMMONNAME of this country remains "Turkey", and it is Wikipedia policy to use that name when writing in the English language in Wikipedia's voice.

Please note that this is not because of anti-Turkish bias or a desire not to keep up with the times; it's that English Wikipedia follows English language usage, not prescriptions by any one group, no matter how official. Please be assured that if mainstream English language use changes (as it did, for example, with "Bombay" changing to Mumbai and "Peking" changing to Beijing), English Wikipedia policy will follow that change, for exactly the same reason that it resists the change now. The WP:COMMONNAME and Wikipedia:Naming conventions (geographic names) pages have more information on this.

If you would like to dispute this, please take this up at Talk:Turkey, where the issue has been discussed repeatedly and at great length. Please don't make any similar changes to other articles unless this is first endorsed by community consensus. — The Anome (talk) 18:23, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Capitanio Pro Kho Kho requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.) that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Ways to improve Indigenous Games Festival (South Africa)

[edit]

Hello, GreekApple123,

Thank you for creating Indigenous Games Festival (South Africa).

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

The article could do with expansion, explaining to the reader who competes (is it individuals or teams? If teams, do they represent clubs or provinces?), where the games have been held, who apart from KwaZulu-Natal has won, etc. I would also suggest including the article in relevant Wikiprojects.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Bastun}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Fram (talk) 15:03, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If this is regarding the China Rim article, there were several sources mentioning some variation of "China's rim" or "China's periphery". What I believe you're looking for, though, is sources that explicitly mention the name "China Rim" exactly in that manner; so I've gone ahead and gotten some sources that explicitly use that name here:
GreekApple123 (talk) 16:15, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, it was more about your editing in general, your creation of articles on ill-defined regions based on your interpretation / selection of some loose references. E.g. here it is very unclear what the actual definition of the China Rim is, ranging from its border countries to things like the Maldives? It often happens that a few publications seem want to introduce a term independently, without it really getting much traction. Having an article for such cases is usually a bad idea. We should in general only have such article when the term is in common use, has a largely (though not necessarily universally) accepted definition, and when it is clearly distinct from other terms, and not completely or mainly synonymous. E.g. it is unclear what the difference is between the China Rim and the Chinese border countries, or between Maritime South Asia and Littoral South Asia (in the sources). Fram (talk) 16:33, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
While I will try to heed your warning on my editing in general, I am a bit confused as to how you consider the term "China Rim" to be so ambiguous that it could include countries as distant from bordering China as the Maldives. In almost any case that the term "Rim" is appended to something, it directly refers to the countries bordering something. (See Category:Rim regions to get an idea of this). And even if there is slight ambiguity in defining the China Rim/China's periphery, that hardly seems reason to derail any and all articles on the broad topic.
I am willing to be corrected in this matter, but let me mention what I see as the China Rim's importance in the modern-day: it is the direct zone of competition between the two most powerful countries in the world for the next decade at least. So I am looking for any guidance or modifications from you which can help me in making an article on the China Rim theme a reality. GreekApple123 (talk) 20:45, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I suppose I also ought to ask: I understand you are opposed to an article about the China Rim, but is there any way the term or overall concept could be discussed in another article, such as perhaps Borders of China? GreekApple123 (talk) 13:24, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Borders of China would be the best place to start this, yes. If it turns out that the topic of China Rim is notable and separate enough to warrant a separate article instead of overwhelming the "borders" article, then a split might be warranted. Fram (talk) 13:44, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your article

[edit]

Hi, apparently a lot of unsourced content has been added into the article you created, especially after this version. A table and a list of languages/zones/whatever they are supposed to be in this section , starting with - "English Belt (Anglosphere): United States of America...", most of which looks irrelevant or redundant. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 20:44, 2 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Immigration to Bangladesh

[edit]

Hello, GreekApple123,

Thank you for creating Immigration to Bangladesh.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

A source that talks about "Mongoloid, Caucasoid" ethnic groups as if 19th century "racial science" was a fact is not the kind of source we should be using here.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Chaotic Enby}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.
