Wheel war?

Did you just accuse me of wheel warring for pulling the ITN when there's no reverting involved? -- KTC (talk) 21:55, 20 April 2021 (UTC)

Was just about to note that per WP:WHEEL you are the one wheel warring, not the administrator who reverted the action that was too soon to post. -bɜ:ʳkənhɪmez (User/say hi!) 21:59, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
Yes, that's correct. The only wheel warring here is from Fuzheado in reinstating an already reverted admin action. I suggest you self-revert immediately.  — Amakuru (talk) 22:02, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
Addendum: I guess it's a done deal now and someone's even closed the discussion, so no value in reverting at this stage, but in future please don't accuse others of WP:WHEEL when it's actually you who's doing the wheeling. That's a very poor show.  — Amakuru (talk) 22:15, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
Amakuru, I've BOLDly reverted that close given the WHEEL accusation that should (ideally) result in a self-revert and that the blurb discussion is better placed on ITN/C than ERRORS. -bɜ:ʳkənhɪmez (User/say hi!) 22:17, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
I have to agree with KTC here, I am not sure you understand what wheel warring is at this point. But yeah, you done did it. Not KTC. PackMecEng (talk) 01:46, 21 April 2021 (UTC)

Guideline and policy news

Technical news

  • Wikimedia previously used the IRC network Freenode. However, due to changes over who controlled the network with reports of a forceful takeover by several ex-staff members, the Wikimedia IRC Group Contacts decided to move to the new Libera Chat network. It has been reported that Wikimedia related channels on Freenode have been forcibly taken over if they pointed members to Libera. There is a migration guide and Wikimedia discussions about this.

Notice

The article Gillmor Gang has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The article does not meet WP:GNG. I searched for quite a while on Google News and couldn't find any sources that were reliable secondary sources of information. The podcast appears to have been produced by TechCrunch and Steve Gillmor wrote articles for TechCrunch that have been republished by YahooNews under different domain names. After excluding any search results from TechCrunch and Yahoo news there are some very questionable sites that have published the podcast's newletter, which I believe would still be considered a primary source. Aside from that there are a few other mentions of the words "gillmor" and "gang" in some articles, but they refer to other things.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Administrators' newsletter – July 2021

News and updates for administrators from the past month (June 2021).

Guideline and policy news

  • Consensus has been reached to delete all books in the book namespace. There was rough consensus that the deleted books should still be available on request at WP:REFUND even after the namespace is removed.
  • An RfC is open to discuss the next steps following a trial which automatically applied pending changes to TFAs.

Technical news

  • IP addresses of unregistered users are to be hidden from everyone. There is a rough draft of how IP addresses may be shown to users who need to see them. This currently details allowing administrators, checkusers, stewards and those with a new usergroup to view the full IP address of unregistered users. Editors with at least 500 edits and an account over a year old will be able to see all but the end of the IP address in the proposal. The ability to see the IP addresses hidden behind the mask would be dependent on agreeing to not share the parts of the IP address they can see with those who do not have access to the same information. Accessing part of or the full IP address of a masked editor would also be logged. Comments on the draft are being welcomed at the talk page.

Finger Bowl

As the sourced and footnoted article states, the finger bowl is the last function of the meal, after the last course of food, that is, AFTER the sweets or fruit. Those sugary foods lead to sticky fingers, which is exactly the reason for the finger bowl. The finger bowl is not used before dessert unless a particularly messy or greasy dish was served, such as lobster. Plenty of YouTube videos present other practices, but those practices have no support in any written source. MonteGargano (talk) 17:01, 4 July 2021 (UTC)

Wrong correction

Hi Fuzheado,

You reverted one of my changes from the Daniel in the lions den page:

https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User_talk:77.57.203.82

Unfortunately, you are wrong. Bob Marley doesn't have an album called survivor, it is called survival. Why even revert my correction when you can't even be bothered to simply google Bob Marley studio albums?
