My edit to the C.J. Dennis page was to correct a spelling mistake. The author of one of the works listed in the External Sources section is incorrectly named as P. Butters. In fact the surname has a second 's': Butterss. I checked the actual external source--a particular issue of the journal JASAL. The surname is correctly given there as Butterss. I agree, it's an odd spelling. But that's what it is. Cheers Fileataplace Fileataplace (talk) 16:38, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Well done, guys. I've added a reference to Butterss' book. Doug butler (talk) 22:05, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Great work on Elizabeth Caroline Armstrong. If I may add a tiny suggestion, one of Wikipedia's style quirks, that some people get steamed up about, is use of the ndash rather than hyphen to indicate a range, eg. 1920–1922 or A–Z. There's several ways to get this character—here I've used the markup {{ndash}} but it's also on the far left of the handy box of most-used characters if you're using the source editor. I hope this helps. Doug butler (talk) 21:48, 20 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Doug. I'll sort out the ndashes and use them in future. So much to learn here! I see you've done loads of work on South Australian entries. Great to have that knowledge available to people. I'm currently not in Adelaide, but I'd love to say g'day face-to-face when we get back home in a couple of weeks, if that's possible Fileataplace (talk) 05:54, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good but alas, we now live in country New South Wales, away from that silly 30-minute delay line, but my heart, at least, is still in the Adelaide Hills. Doug butler (talk) 15:21, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, well, I'm sure there will be more contact on here :) Fileataplace (talk) 17:49, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Having created an article, you owe it to potential readers to make it as easy to find as possible. I see you've listed her name on the Elizabeth Armstrong dab page, but she could also be listed on the Armstrong page. And you should create a redirect page for any other way potential readers may look for the article. If she was better known as Elizabeth C. Armstrong, move (rename) your article to that name; a REDIRECT to the current page is created automatically. The Move facility is an item under the menu item More. If you don't have that permission yet, let me know. And if (for example) she was occasionally referred to by her initials or as Lizzie Armstrong, create a REDIRECT page to the article. Too often I've started an article only to find that someone has already written a similar article with a different title. Cheers, Doug butler (talk) 11:09, 22 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Doug, for the advice, all excellent. As you guessed, I suppose, she was more usually known as Elizabeth Armstrong. I wrote the entry according to Australian Diction of Biography practice, i.e. with full name. It became clear fairly soon that that was not appropriate here, but I couldn't find any way to edit the name. As you explain, it's a process of moving. I've just tried using the Move facility, but of course there are other Elizabeth Armstrongs, so I've put in a technical request for a move. If that is sorted, then I'll try to set up the redirects you suggest. This has all been an intense learning process, but it's satisfying. Thanks again Fileataplace (talk) 14:09, 22 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, sorry. I've already created Elizabeth C. Armstrong. Doug butler (talk) 22:00, 22 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks very much for doing that. I spent a lot of time yesterday trying to create Lizzie Armstrong as a redirect. Unfortunately, I was starting as I had for my first page and so was being treated as a complete newcomer – not allowed to proceed without references and more content. (Hopefully that was an en-dash.) Successfully done, just now.Fileataplace (talk) 06:09, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
