COI

[edit]

Do you have a connection to Draft:Santiago Borja? Usually articles with so much detail come from the artist or one of their representative, such as their dealer. Also, I have made some trims to the article to try and get it in better shape, so that it can be published. You cannot have long sections in articles without sources, basically everything needs a source. --- Possibly 05:03, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Still waiting for an answer on the above COI question. Also, you will need to remove the inline links in the body of the article, as I have done in this example. We do not use links to external site in the way you have used them there. Thanks. --- Possibly 07:00, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Answer for Possibly

[edit]

Hello, @Possibly: !! I'm not sure if this is the way comments are answered on a Talk Page. I'm still learning, of course. I want to thank you for your reviews, comments and help on this article. To answer your question: No, I am not the artist's agent/representative/dealer. I am an Arts student about to get my Bachelor's Degree. Santiago Borja was my teacher briefly, and I noticed nobody had ever written his Wikipedia, even when he is a very important contemporary artist. I have studied his work and interviewed him repeatedly. I am very committed to this article as a personal project; Santiago Borja does not know I am doing this piece. Anyhow, I thank you again for your time and generosity, and I will keep working on my draft. ---FernandaFarjeat (talk) 15:52, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

hello and thanks for your reply. I'll leave a note next on our Conflict of Interest policy, which is what you have. All you need to do is declare the COI on your user page ideally, although the article talk page also works. It is fine to edit a draft with a COI and submit it to Articles for Creation. However after the draft is published, we prefer that you request edits via thre talk page. Thanks. --- Possibly 20:30, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and thanks again, @Possibly: ! I will declare my COI in the article's talk page. I didn't think this article would have a COI issue, for I wasn't asked or paid or anything for this project, nor I represent or speak for the artist. I really do hope to be able to solve this article's issues and get it published! May I request your help proofing this article to make it neutral and objective? Is that possible? I'm feeling a bit lost here. I'm not sure how to proceed after declaring my COI. I've read all the links you've suggested, but I'm still trying to figure out my next move... Thank you again for your time and patience. --- FernandaFarjeat (talk) 15:28, 22 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

For drafts you can edit normally. If it is published you would use the talk page to request edits, rather than editing the article directly. --- Possibly 15:43, 22 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, FernandaFarjeat, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! --- Possibly 20:30, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
