Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Zoo Entertainment (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Talkback

Hello, Erpert. You have new messages at Adabow's talk page.
Message added 09:33, 13 April 2014 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Adabow (talk) 09:33, 13 April 2014 (UTC)

As I have often stated, this is a battle-free zone.

"Stay off my talk page"

I find it ironic that you are mad that Hullaballoo Wolfowitz is sending you automated afd notices. As you may (or may not) remember, you got mad at me for not sending you automated notices - Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/IncidentArchive749#Proposed_topic_ban_for_Hipocrite. Which of your two directly orthogonal arguments do you currently believe? Hipocrite (talk) 19:57, 16 April 2014 (UTC)

If someone else feels that an article I created should be deleted, that person can feel free to nominate it (conversely, I wouldn't nominate an article HW created for deletion). But why did you come off a wikibreak just to ask me that? Go away. Erpert blah, blah, blah... 00:08, 17 April 2014 (UTC)

E-Life

  • Hey Erpert, this is Shallowharold. I noticed there isn't really a page for Mint Condition's album E-Life. As I have edited and improved a lot of the pages on Mint Condition's studio albums, I was wondering if it was okay to do one on E-Life. Also, I planned on doing more with Livin' the Luxury Brown but I haven't gotten around to it due to other pages that I am currently improving. Just asking for your opinion on this- thanks. Shallowharold (talk) 23:35, 6 April 2014 (UTC)

Mr. Silas

  • Shallowharold again, Erpert. I noticed that you were on the page of former MCA Records executive Louil Silas, Jr. The reason being is that his name is misspelled. On all of the projects that he was involved in under MCA- as well as his own imprint- list his name as "Louil" as opposed to "Louis". If you don't believe me, look up any album by New Edition, Bobby Brown, Ready for the World, Chanté Moore, Jesse Powell or Aaron Hall to support my claim. If that won't suffice, do a quick Google Search and you will find numerous sources listing his name as it has always been spelled.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 24/7 (Kevon Edmonds album), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Debut album (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Year of song.

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section.

As already pointed out the guideline has been part of WP:SONG for a number of years. Should you feel that it needs to be discussed again, then that is the forum to discuss it - not on my talkpage, your talkpage, single (music) and certainly not on a specific song article where you are reverting contra to the guideline. You know this and if you check our last conversation on the matter I asked you to show me why I am wrong with the words, "Then elucidate, illuminate and inform me - the floor is yours." Your subsequent absence is telling. --Richhoncho (talk) 06:19, 27 April 2014 (UTC)

WP:SONG is a WikiProject, not a guideline (or do you mean WP:NSONG?). And I didn't respond until now because, well, I have a busy life outside of Wikipedia (look at the first thing on my talk page). Anyway, there is already a DRN discussion opened about it, as is linked on your talk page. Erpert blah, blah, blah... 06:24, 27 April 2014 (UTC)

Category:Songs written by James Mercer

It is guideline to match the article namespace with the category. In this case there was already Category:Songs written by James Mercer (musician). I have moved the sole member and there is nothing for you to do unless you wish to speedy the category as author. Cheers. --Richhoncho (talk) 08:48, 27 April 2014 (UTC)

Soliciting comment...

Hi! Would you care to review or comment at my FA nomination for Marquee Moon, an article about a rock music album? Information on reviewing an FA nomination's criteria is available at WP:FACR. If not, feel free to ignore this message. Cheers! Dan56 (talk) 04:13, 29 April 2014 (UTC)

DRN

There is a DRN which you started that needs your input. If you have nothing further to say on the matter it would be convenient for all if you confirmed it. Thanks. --Richhoncho (talk) 08:15, 3 May 2014 (UTC)

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Nancy Fuller. The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:10, 7 May 2014 (UTC)

American politics arbitration evidence

Hi. You contributed to a recent RFC about this topic area. This message is to notify you that the arbitration proceedings at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/American politics are underway, and evidence about all disruptive edits to articles within this topic is being accepted at the relevant case page. If you wish to submit evidence for the committee to consider in reaching its decision, please do so now. Please contact me or the other drafting arbitrator if you require more time to submit evidence. Thank you. For the Arbitration Committee, AGK [•] 14:15, 10 May 2014 (UTC)

Apparently, some people still don't understand what "battle-free zone" means.

"Under construction" doesn't mean "I claim the title for me and then add no content at all". It existed for a day and a half with no content whatsoever. Please don't misues the "under construction" tag in such a way. Fram (talk) 06:53, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

That was absolutely not my intention. I was going to work on it but then I got busy (have you noticed the very first thing on my talk page?). And the template states to remove it if it hasn't been edited in several days; one-and-a-half days hardly equals that. Anyway, all else fails, you could have at least redirected the article to St. Vincent (album). Erpert blah, blah, blah... 09:08, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
The tag should be removed after several days, yes. But the article was completely empty, and that's why it was speedy deleted. Now, if I had speedy deleted it after e.g. half an hour, despite the tag, then you had a point that I should have waited. But here? Having no article is better than having an empty one. Oh, and I could have redirected it? The album article didn't even link to this single at the time I deleted it, so "what links here" wouldn't have revealed that connection. It is not up to others to find out what your empty page is supposed to be about. And "you got busy", fine, but you had the time to make other edits in the intervening 1 1/2 day, so it's not as if you hadn't been able to add at least a sentence identifying the subject of the article. Bottom line: if you don't want articles to be speedy deleted, add at least "some" content and context, preferably with some indication of why it is a notable subject. If you don't have the time to do this, then don't bother creating the article yet, but add it to a to-do list in your userspace instead. Fram (talk) 09:31, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
What are you doing, stalking me? Leave me alone, please. Erpert blah, blah, blah... 10:12, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
Is the template at the top of this talk page not in English or something?

Stop saying I'm wrong. I provide accurate information that helps and advances the article, and you keep saying I'm wrong. Then you say that I need to chill? I have proved the birthday, yet you said I was wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Seston (talkcontribs) 00:24, 29 May 2014 (UTC)

Come into My Head

I've listed it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Come into My Head. Feel free to add your opinions for or against! --Prosperosity (talk) 10:37, 9 June 2014 (UTC)

Doug Beck Page

  • If you want to help me make this page better then how about you suggest some things I can do instead of just deleting the entire bio section. I also don't appreciate your "sheesh turn off the hype machine" comment. Other people have been helpful with suggesting changes and edits and not rude about it. Try that. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Audioremixer (talkcontribs) 21:42, 20 June 2014
    • I say that when I find articles that are ridiculously non-neutral. Anyway, Wikipedia seriously frowns upon copyright violations; it would be a good idea for you to read WP:COPYVIO. Erpert blah, blah, blah... 07:55, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
      • Look Erpert. I am just trying to do a Wiki Page. The page was started by a fan without my knowledge. I am Doug Beck. I discovered your edits. everyone on this site else has been really nice. Why don't you call or email me directly at doug@dougbeck.net so i can find out what it is you need me to do. I want to make the page compliant. (Redacted) Please. educate me rather than insult me. No one knows about copywrite infringement more than a guy like me who has been ripped off more times than you know. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Audioremixer (talkcontribs) 08:10, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
        • Three things:
  1. Calm down. I wasn't being mean at all. You're new here, which I understand, but I am just trying to open your eyes to some of the rules around here.
  2. Never post your phone number on Wikipedia.
  3. It isn't a good idea for you to edit an article about yourself, because it could constitute a conflict of interest. See WP:AUTO. Erpert blah, blah, blah... 08:37, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
  • I am calm. I do understand that I don't know the rules. I am a musician. Not a Wiki expert. I never attempted to edit an article about myself until you made a rude comment (in my opinion) about the bio a fan wrote. I felt that rather than being constructive your comments and deletion were un-called for. I am perfectly fine posting my phone number. I am extremely easy to find and have never hid from a fan or or someone who wanted to talk to me. I have always been accessible to everyone. At the end of the day, I would like to have Wiki page but it's ok if i don't. No hard feelings. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.94.176.217 (talk) 08:52, 21 June 2014 (UTC)

Art N' Soul

  • Erpert, this is Shallowharold. I was stumbling around Wikipedia typing in Bay Area acts and noticed there was a page for the group Art n' Soul. I edited it to the best of my ability with citations and references, but one issue came up. I can't find any sources about the passing of group member Rodney Lattrel Evans outside of YouTube video footage. However, there are various people from the Bay Area that confirmed that he passed- even Sam Bostic himself has admitted it, but I can't find that interview to save my life. As you participated in the first nomination, I thought you might be interested in contributing to this new one. –Chase (talk / contribs) 21:35, 28 June 2014 (UTC)

Erpert, not to cause confusion here, but I've had Dave Hollister's Ghetto Hymns album since its release fifteen years ago. What I listed on the page is what is listed in the liner notes. He did, in fact, cover Michael McDonald's version of "I Keep Forgettin'"- the only difference being is that he covered the song as a ballad and not an uptempo track, as Michael McDonald did. Listen and compare both versions, if you will- Hollister's cover leans more toward the Michael McDonald version as opposed to the Chuck Jackson version.

Here's Michael McDonald's song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnjEzx7Glr8

And here's Dave Hollister's song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KY_CgYmL9Ak

Shallowharold (talk) 09:47, 3 July 2014 (UTC)

Dave's version doesn't list Michael McDonald as one of the writers though. Erpert blah, blah, blah... 10:08, 3 July 2014 (UTC)

For legal reasons, they kinda didn't- being that McDonald used parts of the Leiber-Stoller version and didn't credit them as the original or additional songwriters at the time of the song's release. If I'm not mistaken, Leiber and Stoller came after Michael with a legal threat over that and that's how they ended up being listed as sole writers. Leiber and Stoller are also listed as the sole writers under the Warren G. song "Regulate" on the soundtrack to the film Above the Rim. Hope this clears it up. Start date template

Again, people, please read the template at the top of this talk page.

Please do not use {{start date}} inside ref template. This is a huge no-no. The first thing in the template documentation states this. Dates should be spelled out and no templates used. Bgwhite (talk) 08:27, 30 July 2014 (UTC)

There are nicer ways to say that, you know. Anyway, the documentation actually doesn't state that it can't be used inside ref templates (it says it indeed can be used within other templates, I don't see ref templates excluded). Erpert blah, blah, blah... 09:18, 30 July 2014 (UTC)
"Please do not use" is not a nice way? Egads, you are easily offended then. What, I should have said pretty please?
First thing {{start date}} says, This template should not be used in citation templates such as Citation Style 1 and Citation Style 2, because it includes markup that will pollute the COinS metadata they produce. Citation Style 1 and 2 templates are {{cite web}}, {{citation}}, {{cite news}} and any other cite templates. By adding start date, you screw up the metadata, which is on of the primary reasons for the cite templates. There is no "must not" on Wikipedia as there can be a situation where "must not" doesn't work. "Should" on Wikipedia is were we follow it unless the is a valid reason not to. All MOS pages never say "must", but Use common sense in applying it; it will have occasional exceptions. Common sense in this case says not to screw up a primary reason for a template by adding another template.
Also, you signature violates WP:Appearance and color. Pretty please change the yellow text as it makes it impossible to read. Bgwhite (talk) 20:52, 30 July 2014 (UTC)
Two things:
  1. There is no reason to be sarcastic; anyway, I was referring to the "huge no-no" part (I'm not bothered by much but being spoken to like I am a child is a serious pet peeve).
  2. I don't see how my signature violates WP:SIGAPP; and anyway, I've had it for years and no one has ever said anything (it only shows up as yellow on my own talk page). Why do you have so many problems with what I do all of a sudden? Erpert blah, blah, blah... 00:19, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
