Disambiguation link notification for January 5
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Michael Ball (singer), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Musical, John Barry and Charles Hart (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello… thanks so much for reaching out.
In the past I’ve been helping to update pages with new, hopefully accurate, information on entries for actors and their careers when I’ve found that they’ve been in a movie that’s not listed on their page. Simple stuff and not complicated at all.
In the case of this first article I’ve read some of the books that this lady has written and enjoyed them. Hence why I did some work, found out more about her and her life, and decided she probably deserved a presence on Wiki.
So, I will admit to being disappointed that my first article hit a brick wall right from out of the starting gate! I now know what a jockey must feel like when take off with their horse on a two mile hurdle race and they reach a fence with their nag and then get chucked off, and hit the ground with a bit of a thump. (Not a that this has given me any of the pain or risk attached that the poor old jockey or the horse go through!)
If you can help me to improve and get anything I submit to get put up and live then that really would help.
Let me know how we proceed from here. Thanks. Regards,
Tony Elyptika (talk) 17:51, 1 January 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Maggie O'Farrell, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Radio 4. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Desert Island Discs "media" sections
[edit]Hi, and thanks for your contributions. If you think that a person's Desert Island Discs appearance is worth mentioning in their biography, you should work this into the content that's already there rather than creating a new top-level section called "Media" with that sentence alone. Somebody like Ade Edmondson obviously has more "media" work in his forty-year career than a single radio appearance in 2023. Belbury (talk) 09:05, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for your comment. My problem was that there isn't, as you suggest, a existing space that this appearance on Desert Island Discs fits into? Hence why I thought creating another section for this. I did take a good look at Ade's entry and decided that the way his wiki entry is currently structured this appearance didn't fit easily elsewhere.
- If you feel it should be in another more suitable place, then please feel free to move it. Thanks again for your contribution. 👍 Elyptika (talk) 09:48, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
