Nepal
Looks good. Although I copy and past anyway and just change the numbers so it wouldn't make any time difference. Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan and Ladakh It really is a special part of the world. It physically has an impact on me and somehow the Tibetan Buddhist/Hindu thing and the landscape if ever I'm in a bad mood or stressed it seems to make me feel different. It is just so tranquil isn't it? Zanskar has some amazing pictures. The Bald One White cat 18:24, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

I know I saw he turned down his candidacy which is rather disappointing seems as he had nearly 90 supports and everybody else wasted their time voting for him or asking him questions when they could have been editing the mainspace. Me, you , everybody gets tired with people on wikipedia, I felt like that last week with the deletionists. But it isn't the biggest deal it blows over and you just get on with things. Best to take a few days away and return with a clear head and try to ignore it. I thought he had been with us longer than five months but if he wants to succeed on wikipedia it is something he will have to come to terms with. Personally I think the content or potential content far outweighs any wiki-lawyers or tiffs at ANI. Lets hope he returns soon and tries to put it behind him. I think he has a lot of potential and was beginning to do good things with his DYKs. We can;t afford to lose any of our main space contributors. The Bald One White cat 19:43, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

Re Re Review
The only reason I mentioned the edit summary thing was because I noticed you said you were interested in becoming an admin - and that's something that reviewers sometimes look for, but from what I can tell, while I wouldn't advise running quite yet, you'll be a great candidate. Good luck!--danielfolsom 13:28, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

War and editing
I guess with your living near a liberal hotbed that you aren't a great fan of President Bush's warmongering! Can't say I like the neocon agenda either. Feel sorry for the troops though; one of my mates is probably going to sent to Afghanistan early next year, and Helmand makes parts of Iraq look like a tea party :-( The big event in November looks like it will bring some positive changes anyway. Nepal is looking good, nice work; I'll help out there, although it does make me wonder when Burkina will be finished! Haven't really had the opportunity to edit much in the afternoons, and too exhausted in the evenings, it might be that I'll be mostly editing week-ends for the next while. This evening is the first time I've signed in since last weekend. Looking at AN, there's another battle because of fair-use images, I'm glad I never really bother with them, far too much hassle! Saw Ecoleetage's RfA too, more madness. Thanks for the message, great to see you're still pumping out the articles at a fine pace. I plan to expand two or three articles over the weekend, about time I got back to the proper editing! Regards, EJF (talk) 18:31, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Hey there, as you may know, I withdrew my RfA earlier this week. I am sorry if I disappointed you, as you stated your support for my endeavours. However, I could not tolerate the stress brought by the personal attacks and hostility that were being aimed my way. I am on Wikibreak now (just checking the site to make sure no one goofed up my pages) and I am not certain when or if I will resume full editing. But I wanted to say Hello and share my appreciation for your friendship. Ecoleetage (talk) 04:07, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Surprise
Hi editor. Well we both want to cover the world as much as possible but what prompted me was that there was nothing to verify it and a quick google search showed up little, rather they showed places in Maryland under that name not Newfoundland. Now I as much as you believe google isn't the yoda of knowledge but for a populated Canadian place to have a valid article in the encyclopedia it needed to at least have a references or some form of verification. You would expect it to even have its own website or at least some further details if it was really worth it. Initially I had thought it was a hoax until I found the 15 people mentioning but my initial search showed up practically nothing. If there were sources that could be found, its only because I had limited time given that I am having serious computer difficulties and a computer virus which is preventing me from editing much. It took me half an hour to get my computer to list them. The Bald One White cat 12:51, 9 September 2008 (UTC) Hi Eddy!!!! Could you help me out with Bruley and my tagged images on my talk page. I'm having serious virus problems on my PC which is preventing me from going from one site to another. Im lucky to have had some luck this afternoon trying to get onto here. Its taking over ten minutes to try to save pages on here. I ahev to keep shutting the computer down after every five minutes and re logging onto the web otherwise it stalls after some time on here. Its doing my head in not being able to adequately sort out the problems and edit properly. Anyway I;m away two days and my talk page gets plagued with negative messages and deletions. Seems Dekkappai was right about this place. Just imagine I was considering leaving, not exactly the reception you want to see on your talk page. P.S. congrats on the FA - well deserved!!! I second that! Congrats to both of you!! I'll try to look into that article computer permitting. My dad's been trying all evneing to get on the web and failed. I thought I'd try my luck late now and surprisingly managed to get it but I don't know how long it will last. You click "save" and it just stalls. Its taken me half an hour to post this to you. It is to do with spyware and trojans which have sent me false virus warnings with the result that the only way is to buy new protection to completely solve it which is an attempted con. We've managed to hold off paying anybody any money as yet though and are trying to sort out a Virgin Media agreement. Every minute it keeps coming up with a "your computer is infected warning" and naturally the computer does not feel like browsing pages if it feels it is under attack. I;ve lost my desktop which has replace dit with a blank screen and a great big virus banner across it. Lovely. Yeah right. I did a four hour virus search yesterday and only showed up 4 faults not the 684 that the false spyware messages are telling me!! Somehow it picked up this virus on here, these things happen unfortunately and it is a pain in the arse!! I hope it will be fixed within the week. I'll keep trying during the week, but my edits will be sporadic probably mostly talk messages or the occassional minor edit if I can manaage it. Take care of yourself. Blof The Bald One White cat 21:37, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
Aaargh. It was OK earlier now i can barely get onto to here. I'm not sure how I can get it back to what it was before. It is still coming up with warnings. The Bald One White cat 20:46, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

- No Ed. There's enough support that it will pass. This has nothing to do with my "friendship" with Ling. Please don't go. These are the dog days of wikipedia. Ling's just doing his/her job, she helps at FAC naturally. Ling is critical in a good way, much like Sandy. —Sunday Scribe 23:05, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
- I admit that it's a bit frustrating to see those concerns being raised at the FAC, but remember that we're here to build a neutral and reliable encyclopedia. If we need independent verification of sources (a process which normally occurs during the course of an academic peer review), then so be it. We can continue translating articles from fr.wiki, but remember that the standards for FAs there are much lower than it is here. Furthermore, given the number of issues we had with images, POV, confusing wording during the translation of FHB, I think its best that we utilize our time to re-source/verify the sources used on M'ba/HB/1964/Aubame/Tsiranana/etc. Nishkid64 (Make articles, not wikidrama) 23:08, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Verification
See my comment at the FA. She has a point about being able to verify it, but I don't see it as any different to other articles which have passed FA primarily based on book sources. There has to be an element of trust. I had assumed you spoke French well, was I mistaken? Hopefully Nishkid can sort something out with the French wikipedians. Nepal Development Committees
Ah Eddy. I've found out that rather than being called municipalities, they are indeed called "Village Development Committees" which makes sense now. I think they need to be corrected like Amchaur. I know, I think it was the name that threw me I thought it was the name of the group that compiled the data (which it is) but it didn't dawn on me that it was actually the name of the division until I saw it on Jhapa District earlier which stated that it has 3 "municipalities" and 47 VDC's. They will all have to be corrected of course, but we'll have to it gradually and ask EJF or anybody else to help out. The municipality naming is misleading as this is the term used to refer to the conglomerate VDCs, clusters of them rather than the individual ones. Great news Eddy. Senegal has developed a little on the web and we know have population data on sites like PEPAM and information on many missing villages here. Senegal was on my hot list of countries to do but I had post poned it because of lack of online info. Now it can be developed. French wikipedia also has 189 articles compared to our 56. Also world gazeteer has some data so plenty to keep us busy. I;m still concentrating on Nepal and Mexico but for sure we should go for it. The Bald One White cat 21:31, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

Hey Ed. I've decided to hold off for a while, and focus on my writing skills, rather than worry about something that really isn't significant in real life.

1964 Gabon coup d'etat
Hey, I was a bit surprised to see that the FAC had disappeared (given that it had two or more supports) and I actually thought it had passed. But, I checked it today and didn't see the bronze star. I just wanted to see if you were interested in putting it through an A-class review. And, if I may ask, why was it withdrawn from FAC? Thanks! JonCatalán(Talk) 07:20, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
- If you'd like, I can set it up for you, put you as the nominator and link you to the page. It's a similar process to FAC, but more easier to pass. Nevertheless, the advice for the FAC will be priceless. Regards, JonCatalán(Talk) 17:03, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
Ghanaian milk
I wonder if when Jimbo Wales founded wikipedia he ever thought it would get as far as having an article on a Ghanaian ice cream company.Fan Milk Limited has to be one of the most obscure articles I;ve created I think along with Porcelanosa and yak racing!. It needs some expansion as all of the Ghanaian companies do. Its tricky starting articles about companies on wikipedia to try to make it not appear as an advert. The Bald One White cat 20:02, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
Sorry to see that the 1964 coup did't pass. I think it has come on leaps and bounds since I last looked at it. I take it "verification" was the main reason? The Bald One White cat 16:14, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
Well you stuck at it and the related articles which is impressive. Yes I still have Nepal, Burkina and western africa and Mexico at the main areas to geo stub I did several Nepalese districts in one day and thought I;d take a few days away from it and return perhaps tonight. Meanwhile I've been very active with stub sorting Thailand which was a planned move by me to root out the articles which need developing and try to get them up to a decent level, Bangkok stubs included. The last day or two as you can see I;ve started those Ghanaian companies and have got some of the hundreds of missing Danish actors onto here. I'll tackle some Mexican ones now and start agian on Nepal later. Still havung difficulty with the Burkina website The Bald One White cat 16:29, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
Gabon, jbmurray & 18 September
- Hi, You left a message for me on jbmurray 's talk on 18 Sept., but I had already unwatched that page. I'm sorry; I didn't see it until much earlier today. Then you left roughly the same message on my talk 3 days later; I saw & replied to that one. But the 3-day interval was not intentional, I promise.
- Good luck, hope you find all the info about Gabon for the next go-round at WP:FAC. Don't forget every one of the 1964 newspaper articles etc. Cross all your t's and dot all your i's and.. no promises, of course, but if things truly look good then I'll be among those who Support at that time. Later! Ling.Nut (talk—WP:3IAR) 15:56, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
Adminship
Hi Ed,
I was reading your Editor Review, and it says you were interested in adminship. I know this was back in April, so wanted to check to make sure you hadn't changed your mind. Thanks -- how do you turn this on 15:52, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

- You're doing pretty badly :( It might be a good idea to withdraw, people will respect you for it. Sorry about this. -- how do you turn this on 10:02, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
Editorofthewiki, I strongly suggest you withdraw your RfA if you have any intention of reapplying in the future, as stated in my neutral vote. I have had no bad experiences with you but Iridescent and SandyGeorgia, as well as some others, have made extremely good points against you and I'm afraid I'm certain you will not pass this RfA. If you want to reapply in future, minimise the damage now and withdraw :) Kind regards, —Cyclonenim (talk · contribs · email) 13:21, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
Good luck with the RfA. iMatthew (talk) 19:06, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
- Look, Ed. I opposed you. That's how unready I think you are. I'm no more ready than you, honestly. You should withdraw, my friend, or you might tae a blow you're not willing to take. Cheers, —'Sunday 19:38, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
It might be time for a respectful withdrawal, I'm sorry to say. RockManQ (talk) 22:15, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
Sorry about that. I wouldn't have nominated you if I'd known you would fail. Anyway, there's so much more to Wikipedia than adminship. You're a brilliant editor, and even most of the opposers pointed that out. See ya around! -- how do you turn this on 14:49, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
RfA
Everyone is willing to forgive you, in time! Please stop with the doom and gloom talk. I've said it before, I'll say it again: Just mind your p's and q's, hang out, be calm, be constructive, wait... 4 or 5 months. Heck, I've been on Wikipedia for 2 years, and I plan to go to RfA... 4 or 5 months from now! If I can wait, so can you. ;-) Ling.Nut (talk—WP:3IAR) 13:53, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry to contradict, but I am not willing to forgive you -- only because I have no reason to forgive you. What have you done that is so wrong? You've always been a wonderful person to me and your editorial contributions to Wikipedia are peerless. I think you are doing an excellent job and you would be a smashing admin. Hey, at least no one is accusing you of "begging for barnstars"! Just be yourself and be proud of who you are -- there will be those who admire you for that, and I will gladly count myself among that crowd. Ecoleetage (talk) 20:30, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
- Well, you have a special Ivorian wrong queue joke in your RfA. Don't stress the RfA process -- you would be a great admin and I will always be there to back you! Ecoleetage (talk) 20:44, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
Let me echo Ling's comment. I've just opposed your RfA, but (as I said there) I bear you no grudges at all. As such, you're already forgiven: you screwed up, and you apologized. That's fine by me. You're an enthusiastic editor, who wants to do the right thing, in my view. I'd like to encourage that. But that's not the same as thinking you should be an admin at this point. Good luck with your continuing work on the encyclopedia! -- Your friend, jbmurray (talk • contribs) 22:19, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
- I am probably the person closest to you on the pedia, except maybe Blofeld. I understand your faults and advantages better than everyone. You have the same problem as me, we just need more experience in the guidelines of banning, blocking, and deletion. I'd be willing to work along with you. See ya soon, ;) —Sunday · Speak 15:28, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
Gondjout
Thanks for your mgs, Editor, and I hope you realise I'm on your side. But the article needs a lot of work yet; and more than just a copyedit. I'd recommend withdrawing the FAC for now; some more research to tighten it; and resubmitting it later. I have it watchlisted and I'll help out as much as I can. It can be an FA, but there is a lot of work to be done yet. Ceoil sláinte 01:41, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
- As long as it's not indecent, call me what you will. (Bir means "one" in Turkish - I rather like the ring of it.) I will give it a look soon.
- And let me say I missed your RfA - but that you were treated horribly there. Basically, this was you. Not to say that you were the perfect candidate - I think you'd readily admit that - but the vicious tone, the pettiness, the insinuations, the accusatory posturing - a terrible reflection on the process. (And by the way, some of the oppose votes were constructive, reasoned and polite - I (and presumably you) don't take issue with those; it's the others that bother me.) What really galls me is how one, two, five edits out of 12,000 can be used just like that to sink a fine candidate. Apologies aren't enough, promises to do better aren't enough, changing something during the process (ie the signature canard) isn't enough either! You've sinned and that's that. No mercy, no forgiveness, no justice. Thoroughly despicable.
- Oh, and by the way - I find the edit summary thing really silly too, but you can reset your preferences so it reminds you to put a summary (and makes people happy at your next RfA, which I do hope happens). Biruitorul Talk 01:37, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

You should withdraw your RfA. Nothing good can come from it now. Erik the Red 2 ~~~~ 02:38, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

Rfa
You are a outstanding person here on Wikipedia and I am very sorry you rfa did not pass. I supported you in your Rfa, adding in my Support I wrote "However that 'your friend' before you sign does piss me off a bit". I would like to explain - I added that because to me it just sounds a bit cheesey because the of the fact that it is a request for adminship thus you are addressing some people who you don't know and vise verser, and you can't really be friends with people you don't know. So moving on I am in absolute shock as to some of the reasons to oppose including out-right opposing for "your friend", misinterpreting your words on other talk pages and suspected of having a solitary nature on Wikipedia just to name three. I see a huge error of not being able to see the trees amongst the forest.--Theoneintraining (talk) 21:06, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
