I'm unhappy with your decision to split the "Aftermath" content on the Kenyan election article to the clashes article. I had envisioned making that a separate subarticle, focusing on the political dispute, while the other article would focus on the rioting and violence. If you want the articles combined, the title of the clashes article needs to be changed and it needs to be substantially reorganized, with a different intro to reflect the broadened scope of the topic. Are you willing to do that? Everyking (talk) 22:37, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
- I find it insulting that you're lecturing me about WP:OWN. I do not expect anyone to consult me in advance, unless they in turn expect others to consult them before making changes to what they do. How can you justify not consulting the person who spent all that time writing that content, but then insist that the person who wrote it has to consult you before making changes to a move that took you a minute or two to do? I also don't understand your reasoning for opposing two separate articles. There is clearly enough to say about the respective subjects to warrant separate articles. The clashes article is now 32KB long, and the issue is still nowhere near being settled. Everyking (talk) 22:59, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
- I think I'm calm. I am perfectly happy to see what you're going to do with the article. If you can improve the organization of the clashes article, without losing any information in the process, that is fine with me, although I still think splitting out another article will eventually be necessary due to size guidelines. I am not going to edit on this subject any further as long as I am unhappy with the organization, however. Everyking (talk) 23:11, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
- I think your retitling of the article and reworking of the intro is good and I have no further objection. Everyking (talk) 00:53, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Hey,
I was wondering if i could use the template on your user page. Also i gave you your first Barnstar for your help with the Robert Tetsu article.
Thanks Chandlerjoeyross (talk) 22:38, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Too Slow.
Damn. You created the article on Alaa Abdulkareem Fartusi two minuets before i finished. I was hoping to add him to my created list. LOL. Anyway, good job on the article. Chandlerjoeyross (talk) 22:10, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
MFD
Deleting the page that describes the policy is not the way to discuss the policy itself. If you proceed I imagine someone will close the MFD as a snow, and you won't get the discussion you're looking for. Have you tried the talk page? Friday (talk) 19:54, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
I close this- there's no way it's going to do what you wanted. If you have a problem with prod, the place to start is the talk page. So far none of your reasons are anything close to resembling a reason to delete the page. Even if we stop using prod, the page would be kept out of historical interest. Capitals
Hey, i don't know really. I always capitalize Born because in my view due to the barracks it starts a new sentence. Chandlerjoeyross (talk) 00:34, 17 February 2008 (UTC) OK, thanks for the explaination! Editorofthewiki 00:34, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Lars Jakobson
A tag has been placed on Lars Jakobson requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. <3 bunny 02:27, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

re: Mickey Renaud
WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS is an awful argument in AfD. Linking to another non-notable athlete in Keeley Dorsey who has had two no consensus AfDs doesn't lend any kind of notability to Mickey Renaud's article. I'm well aware of the criteria for deletion, and while it is unfortunate that the Dorsey article seems to have been supported by emotion over policy, that does not mean similar articles should remain. Resolute 04:44, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
Gladly. From the hockey project alone: Dustin Slade, Blake Parlett, Matthew Halischuk (and he scored the gold medal winning goal at the 2008 WJHC's), Stefan Legein (2nd round pick), Justin Azevedo, Mickey Renaud (the first time), Ryan Howse, David Leggio, P.K. Subban (2nd round pick), Olivier Fortier (3rd round pick), Mario Kempe (5th round pick), Scott Brophy (was captain of his jr. team), Nicolas Bachand. And that just goes back to October. I have routinely seen similar AfD deletes on junior soccer players, and high school, and even some minor-pro baseball players. Resolute 19:36, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
I know nothing of the procedures involved in deletion, and I'm sure the rules have been debated by people better than me. As a user of Wikipedia, it just seems there are many that are trigger happy to delete articles. I understand certain quality standards should be followed, but I always liked Wikipedia as a repository of the obscure. I don't believe there is ANY knowledge that is not worth recording somewhere. My vote is that no article be deleted based on noteworthiness, but rather on the quality of the information. Sorry to vent here, but I just noticed what Editorofthewiki posted on my user page. Not sure if I did something wrong, and I thought my comments on the Mickey Renaud page would be deleted soon enough anyhow. gigantibyte 18:35, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Re: please stop
I'm sorry, but I won't stop removing old redlinks from the Recent Deaths pages. Notability in Wikipedia is established by having an article which is able to be debated by the community, through speedy deletion, proposed deletion or articles for deletion. A redlink means that the deceased does not have a Wikipedia article, so they are not currently notable by our standards. An editor would be entitled to delete a redlink immediately (and some do) but the current consensus is that redlinks may remain for one month. This gives an opportunity for an article to be written, debated if necessary, and thus establishes the notability of the deceased.
You wrote "most of them are notable, yet no one has created an article on it yet". While you may consider them notable, if nobody has written an article then that claimed notability can never be tested.
By your criteria, I could write an entry that states:
- Jim Nelson, 49, American police officer in Susquehanna. [1]
and it must remain in Wikipedia forever because someone may get around to writing an article? Sorry, but I cannot agree.
Thank you for the compliment about my other editing. WWGB (talk) 02:43, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
Hello to you too!
You seem to know more about me than I can remember myself. My history page only shows two entries, not including whatever writing this note does. How do you know this stuff and what is AfD?. gigantibyte 20:47, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
Because I am moving them to the Next Update! You don't leave suggestions there when they've already been moved over to the Next Update list for consideration. Please leave it alone. --Bookworm857158367 (talk) 03:53, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Did you create this article on February 15 or was the information moved from elsewhere? Judging by references elsewhere an article under this title existed long before and I would like to examine its history and its talk page, which should not have been deleted. I would be grateful if you could shed any light on this matter. Cheers. --Folantin (talk) 13:27, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the prompt reply. I'm now almost certain the article I saw being referred to was this one: The Assassination of Julius Caesar: A People's History of Ancient Rome. Cheers. --Folantin (talk) 09:28, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
