Please stop adding director navboxes for pages not directed by that person
You keep adding director navboxes such as {Larry Cohen} to pages that are not films directed by Larry Cohen. All of the films that he has written or produced are already listed on his page. The director navbox template is to be used exclusively for films directed by that person. It is not to be placed on any other pages. Please stop doing that. --Nicholas0 (talk) 18:58, 5 January 2018 (UTC)I changed the director nav box to be about the films of Larry Cohen which included his work as screenwriter - which I believe would be more accurate a reflection of his contribution to cinema. And there is precedent on this to wikipedia. Someone then went in and changed the Navbox back to being films only directed by. That is why the Navbox showed up on those film's entries.Dutchy85 (talk) 19:14, 5 January 2018 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about Gale Force
Hello, Dutchy85,
I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Gale Force should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gale Force .
If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
Thanks,

Help completing a filmography page
Hi, Dutchy85,
I come for you asking for help in finishing a newly established page called Earl Holliman filmography. I made it myself and I am near finishing it, I just need help formatting the tables for his self appearances and awards. I'm having trouble with the formation example in getting to that goal and having a bad cold doesn't help my plite either. If you can help format the table theme for the last two sections and finish the page's appearance, I would be absolutely grateful! Hope you can help me out, it mean SO much (plus Mr. Holliman is a personal friend of mine and I'd like to show it to him sometime in the hopefully near future). There are over 25,000 Stub-class film articles that fall under the American cinema task force, so when adding stub articles about American films to {{WikiProject Film}}, please use a more appropriate genre stub tag on those articles, instead of the stub tags in Category:American film stubs. Thanks! Hello. In your recent television articles, you are using this URL, which redirects to, what I assume is, the library computer that you are using? Please add reliable published sources instead. Thanks. — Wyliepedia @ 02:38, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
- Hi there... the actual source is the newspaper. I give a newspaper source. You can use proquest sometimes you access the actual articles on line. Dutchy85 (talk) 07:00, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
- "You" does not mean "everyone". Every single source of yours lately is the link above, which seems to be an NSW library account requiring a login/registration. Thus, this fails verifiability. Woah! Laser Brain hang on! I do understand the policy absolutely - I gave a quote. The offending infringement is one sentence... It was an honest mistake, immediately fixed, could you please reverse the ban? Thank youDutchy85 (talk) 13:57, 4 May 2018 (UTC)

Request reason:
I do understand the policy absolutely. I fully referenced the bulk of th article. The offending infringement is one sentence... "She was up for the Diane Keaton part in The Godfather but the casting director wanted to go with an unknown." It was an accidental infringement I meant to paraphrase but got too close to a version of the article on line. It was an honest mistake, immediately fixed, and I would argue there has not been a consistent breach of this policy in recent years. Could you please reverse the ban? Thank you
Decline reason:
It was not just one sentence. The following sentence, about turning down the role in Lenny, was also so closely paraphrased as to be a violation of our policy on copyright. You say this was a paraphrase, but your paraphrasing got too close. This is just not true. In a 21 word sentence, you changed "decided" to "wanted". This is not paraphrasing. Request reason:
I accept and acknowledge that I should have taken more care. I did not say I paraphrased - I said I meant to paraphrase. It was absolutely unintentional. An indefinite ban just seems a very harsh sentence, especially when I have been making so many contributions to Wikipedia over the past year and this has not been a problem during that time.
Decline reason:
Only one open unblock request at a time is needed. I will leave your other request open. SQLQuery me! 01:44, 13 May 2018 (UTC)

- The problem is that you are saying you understand our policies on copyright but you have not demonstrated that knowledge. You have repeatedly plagiarized and then said you didn't mean to. However, unintentional plagiarism is still plagiarism and we don't have the resources to constantly monitor your edits to ensure you aren't "accidentally" close paraphrasing or copying text without attribution. --Laser brain (talk) 14:54, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

Has it been a consistent problem over the past year? I'm honestly not trying to cause trouble just trying to check... I thought I had corrected my behaviour, then made this one error, which I still feel was relatively minor, and now have been hit with a ban. If it has been a problem over the past year please let me know.
Accept reason:
Despite the hiccup of the large amount of uncited text, you seem to be making a good faith effort to contribute without violating the plagiarism and copyvio policies. Please carefully review Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing and Wikipedia:Plagiarism before making further edits. Laser brain (talk) 03:24, 24 May 2018 (UTC)

- I went back just a few days ago where you added a large amount of unsourced text to Franchot Tone (itself a huge problem, since no one can verify the information you're adding) and it appears to be directly copied from this web site. Can you explain that? And why in the world are you not citing your sources so people can check your work? --Laser brain (talk) 10:48, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
Hi Laser brain. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I have never seen that website that you referred to about Franchot Tone. What I did for the entry was flesh out biographical information that was already there on the site - the filmography was already there, as were the theatre credits, and there is verifiable information in terms of Tone's IMDB listing and IBDB listing, both of which were already there. (I believe the log will support this.) What I essentially did was repeat information that was already on his wikipedia entry - a listing of the films he made and plays he appeared in - and put it in the biographical section, to make his entry more thorough and accessible for the reader. I did plan on going back to the entry to add some extra references, some newspaper articles, this week but I have been unable to. I compared the entry with the webpage on Tone himself - there definitely seems to have been some copyright infringement, a duplication of text. This was not done by me, however - and I believe that the contributor log will confirm this. I went way back to 2014 and the copyright infringement was still there. Here is a link... https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Franchot_Tone&diff=618587020&oldid=607957909 - I hope it comes through. I'm not sure when the copyright breach was done but it was not done by me.
(Maybe the webpage you clicked on took its information from an old wikipedia entry? I could not tell which came first) I really enjoy wikipedia, I have honestly tried to improve as an editor and correct errors that people have drawn my attention to. I believe I have made a contribution, particularly for doing entries for less well known films, tv series and/or actors, and for fleshing out entries which were very skimpy - for instance my recent work on Aaron Spelling and Bob Cummings - and I am always trying to improve/amend my entries as I go. I absolutely acknowledge the error for the Connie Stevens entry and vow to take more care in the future. I applaud and admire your diligence to keep standards in wikipedia high, wikipedia are lucky to have you, but it was an honest mistake which I corrected immediately, and request that instead of an indefinite ban I be let off with a warning or say given a ban for a specific period of time, say for one month. Regards Dutchy85 (talk) 11:47, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
Producers in the infobox
Hi. Per {{infobox film}}, we don't credit executive producers, associate producers, co-producers, etc. in the infobox – only people credited as "producer". Otherwise, we'd end up with 20+ producers on some films. If the people are notable, they can be mentioned elsewhere in the article. I do this often with Roger Corman, who's often credited as an executive producer on his films. For example, in Crime Zone, Corman was the one who came up with the idea of the film, and there was sourced information I could add about him in the production section. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 06:03, 26 May 2018 (UTC) Hi Ninja. Thanks for this. I take your point about not wanting 20 plus credits! I guess I just wanted people like Aaron Spelling reflected. I would argue though that wikipedia shouldn't be too dogmatic about restricting producer credits - especially on older films. Sometimes the actual producer was credited as "associate producer" while someone else hogged the producing credit. I completely get where you're coming from - just arguing that the rule should perhaps not be so hard and fast. All the best and thanks again Dutchy85 (talk) 06:50, 26 May 2018 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Toddst1. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Phillip Avalon, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Toddst1 (talk) 03:26, 15 August 2018 (UTC) Hey Todd no dramas I'm actually doing changes right now but I should've referenced as I went. Sorry for that. I sometimes "back up" i.e. save changes quicker than I should out of fear of losing my work. Dutchy85 (talk) 03:29, 15 August 2018 (UTC)
