Offenbach TFA

Hi. I'm not sure that JennyOz's changes [Wikipedia:Today's featured article/July 15, 2024: Difference between revisions - Wikipedia here] are correct. What was there before tracks the article's language. My understanding is that the laws/rules relaxed more gradually. -- Ssilvers (talk) 19:08, 10 July 2024 (UTC)

Congratulations, Dank! The list you nominated, List of inventoried conifers in the United States, has been promoted to featured status, recognizing it as one of the best lists on Wikipedia. The nomination discussion has been archived.
This is a rare accomplishment and you should be proud. If you would like, you may nominate it to appear on the Main page as Today's featured list. Keep up the great work! Cheers, PresN (talk) via FACBot (talk) 00:26, 18 July 2024 (UTC)
Thanks much. - Dank (push to talk) 01:19, 18 July 2024 (UTC)

Phew!

Hi Dank! Well, phew, Hemingway went well. I'm just stopping by to leave you a note to thank you for scheduling it. It needed much more work than I anticiptated - there's been some interesting new research, particularly about his health and cause of death - that's now incorporated. I'm forced to rethink my opinion regarding rerunning articles: now I think it's a good idea and kinda forces a clean up. Especially in an article that was written almost 15 years ago, the clean up was warranted. Best, Victoria (tk) 23:25, 21 July 2024 (UTC)

I noticed how well that went ... congratulations on a super-dooper job, he's a hard person to write about. - Dank (push to talk) 23:31, 21 July 2024 (UTC)
Lots of sources and reading. I have seven dead wood biographies on the floor (where they land when I'm finished with them) and two more on my computer. But I'm pleased with the result so that makes the work worthwhile. Thanks again for all your hard making TFA happen. Victoria (tk) 23:34, 21 July 2024 (UTC)

Thank you today for Fusō-class battleship, introduced (in 2013): "Both ships were sunk in the most dramatic battleship-on-battleship confrontation of World War II during the Battle of Leyte Gulf; one ship was long thought to have remained afloat and ablaze for an hour after splitting in two, defying the laws of physics and good sense, and the other bravely took on 6 battleships and 8 cruisers lying in wait, only to go down to torpedoes a few minutes later, taking her vice-admiral and almost all the crew down with her."! -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:08, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
