Discussion

[edit]

Hey, I'm a bit curious, but why put up Changi Airport MRT station for 17 October 2024? The date felt a little random in my opinion.--ZKang123 (talk) 01:40, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not everything has to go on a ‘special’ date, given many dates have multiple events events happening on them. - SchroCat (talk) 06:22, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There was an attempt ...

[edit]

For October 12:

"an attempted assassination attempt" is the highlighted text. What, exactly, is this supposed to mean? How can you attempt to attempt something? Either you attempt something, or you accomplish it. There's no in-between, no qualifying an attempt (outside of sarcasm or humor) further as an attempt.

If this were slated for April 1, I suppose I could understand, although given the article subject that would be a very poor choice for that day. Otherwise the only reason to run it is to have people laugh at us.

I note that the article itself does not use that language, simply and clearly referring to it as "an assassination attempt". Either that or "attempted assassination" works. But by no means do we use both. Daniel Case (talk) 02:24, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
