Cian Ducrot redirect?
[edit]Hi there. In this edit you removed Cian Ducrot from the list of one-hit wonders (and probably for a good reason), but Cian Ducrot still redirects to the list. This creates an odd situation where the redirect points to an article where the subject is not mentioned, but the other targets for the redirect aren't that good. Perhaps Ella Henderson discography? --Muhandes (talk) 09:51, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
- Actually, supporting act on Everything I Didn't Say#Everything I Didn't Say Tour might be better. Muhandes (talk) 09:52, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
Yes i had thought of this to be honest i am surprised he does not have a page yet with two charting hits two top tens in Ireland and top 20 In the UK. I do think your later is a good idea for now.DanTheMusicMan2 (talk) 11:20, 22 January 2023 (UTC)

Adult contemporary number ones
[edit]Hey there Dan, I noticed that you turned List of Billboard number-one adult contemporary hits into a redirect for Adult Contemporary (chart) earlier this year with the edit summary "all covered on Adult Contemporary (chart) page." While those pages are indeed in a template at the bottom of the page, that template does not seem to be viewable on Mobile Wikipedia, and users who access the main chart page on mobile may not be able to subsequently access the year pages directly without manually typing the name of the year page. I don't know why templates are not visible on mobile, but that is a decent percentage of Wikipedia readers to keep in mind. I was thinking about restoring List of Billboard number-one adult contemporary hits to its own page, with mobile viewers in mind, but I wanted to touch base with you first before I did that. What do you think? Doc StrangeMailboxLogbook 23:27, 27 September 2023 (UTC)
- Yes I noticed that later on that templates can't be viewed on mobile and just forgot to restore this one obviously will do shortly DanTheMusicMan2 (talk) 23:37, 27 September 2023 (UTC)
- Excellent, thank you! Doc StrangeMailboxLogbook 00:46, 28 September 2023 (UTC)

Question about recently removed entries on the OHW Wiki page (USA)
[edit]Wassup Dan? First and foremost, I would like to say Thank You for all of your contributions to the page. It pleases me to know that there are other people out there who are as invested in the page as I am. (I am personally just a OHW freak) I wanted to ask about some of the entries recently moved by Rich Kapalin and whether or not they should have been removed. Because I was personally too torn as to whether or not they could belong on the page or should have been taken off. I would like some feedback on this so a decision can be made and for future reference.
Thank You ~ Alex :) Ya Boy Alex! (talk) 05:13, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks the entries would fit the two sources Criteria the Don McLean entry he did have other fairly big hits but the media call him a One-Hit Wonder, i do think "American pie" was a lot bigger than "Crying" was in the US. DanTheMusicMan2 (talk) 22:26, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
- Okay! Thank You!

I didn't forget 2024 is a leap year
[edit]Dan, I didn't forget 2024 is a leap year [1]. Billboard Japan originally published the date at that URL before they fixed it. That's not my error, it's theirs. Ss112 07:20, 6 March 2024 (UTC)

UK Singles Chart move request
[edit]Hi Dan. There is currently an open move request at Talk:UK Singles Chart regarding capitalisation in the article's title. [edit]Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Tough (Lana Del Rey song) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Tough (Quavo and Lana Del Rey song). This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 21:59, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
- Dan, I expected you to know better than to think copying Wikipedia content not solely written by you is okay to paste to another article. Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution and copying the entire content of an article to another title and redirecting where it was—again, if you are not the only contributor—is not okay to do. Please don't do this again. In future, request the article be moved at WP:RM/TR or ask an admin. It's really very simple procedure. Ss112 09:14, 13 July 2024 (UTC)
