Rollback
[edit]Hi -Alabama-. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or RedWarn.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! FASTILY 03:06, 30 March 2022 (UTC)

Billy Bragg
[edit]When Billy Bragg's page was vandalised calling him cis, it was because he's a trans ally: https://twitter.com/billybragg/status/1537403855822012419 . It was transphobic vandalism rather than an editing test. Further proof of this can be found in the user's other edits - which nearly only consists of transphobic vandalism - including comparing trans people to Nazis even though we were persecuted and killed in the Holocaust. 92.21.223.3 (talk) 04:09, 10 July 2022 (UTC)

[edit]To answer your question[1] that is what I usually refer to as "fat fingers". When editing from a mobile device it is very easy to accidently hit a button and unintentionally insert markup at the top of the page. [edit]Hello, and thank you for removing vandalism from Wikipedia. We appreciate this, but unfortunately your edit was not successful in restoring the article to its pre-vandalised state. For future reference, it is better to deal with vandalism by checking the article's page history to determine how it appeared before it was vandalised. You can then restore the whole article, or the relevant part of it, to an appropriate earlier version. If you simply delete the visible vandalism then any content removed or overwritten by the vandal is lost. See How to deal with vandalism for details. Thank you. PEPSI697 (💬 • 📝) 00:10, 20 September 2024 (UTC)
- I do too many rollbacks per day, including today, so I don't know which one you are referring to. If I didn't remove everything necessary, then you do it. Patrolling recent changes is a team effort. Cysquatch (talk) 00:49, 20 September 2024 (UTC)
- I'm not trying to make personal attacks towards you and never intend to make personal attacks towards any contributor. What I'm trying to tell you was that there was more than one user patrolling recent changes and you weren't the only one and to just suggest that you revert a few and other contributors revert a few, also to note it was done a few seconds after the revision you reverted was made. I didn't do it because I think you did bad, you didn't do bad at all. I think you're doing a good job reverting bad faith edits. You can be a little bit civil but please also note that I have ASD, so be mostly friendly and nice towards others rather than be offended towards other users. Thanks, PEPSI697 (💬 • 📝) 01:31, 20 September 2024 (UTC)
