Repeated messages of vandalism
Hello, my computer keeps on giving me reports of vandalism but I haven't done anything. Wikipedia tells me that if I continue this, I will be blocked. How do I fix this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.106.69.187 (talk) 18:15, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
- This is probably because other users are using the same IP address as you to perform the non-constructive edits. The IP has been blocked, so I recommend you create an account to avoid that problem. You can click on the link at the menu on the upper right. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 08:07, 11 January 2017 (UTC)
Revision
I added the word Batman ( an officers kitman/servant) to the page as until the name Ponchel appeared just before, that was the first time the character had been named in the plot and therefore if reading it you start thinking who on earth is Ponchel!?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 119.75.63.38 (talk) 03:05, 3 February 2017 (UTC)
- Hello, Thank you for bringing it to my attention. Please accept my apologies, as Batman with its first letter capitalized, refers to a fictional character and that is why I mistakenly took your edit for a test. The term you wanted to use should not be capitalized. I added it back to the article as batman including a link to the correct article. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 08:38, 3 February 2017 (UTC)
New Page Review - newsletter No.2
- A HUGE backlog
We now have 803 New Page Reviewers!
Most of us requested the user right at PERM, expressing a wish to be able to do something about the huge backlog, but the chart on the right does not demonstrate any changes to the pre-user-right levels of October.
The backlog is still steadily growing at a rate of 150 a day or 4,650 a month. Only 20 reviews a day by each reviewer over the next few days would bring the backlog down to a managable level and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
It didn't work in time to relax for the Xmas/New Year holidays. Let's see if we can achieve our goal before Easter, otherwise by Thanksgiving it will be closer to 70,000.
- Second set of eyes
Remember that we are the only guardians of quality of new articles, we alone have to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged by non-Reviewer patrollers and that new authors are not being bitten.
- Abuse
This is even more important and extra vigilance is required considering Orangemoody, and
- this very recent case of paid advertising by a Reviewer resulting in a community ban.
- this case in January of paid advertising by a Reviewer, also resulting in a community ban.
- This Reviewer is indefinitely blocked for sockpuppetry.
Coordinator election
Kudpung is stepping down after 6 years as unofficial coordinator of New Page Patrolling/Reviewing. There is enough work for two people and two coords are now required. Details are at NPR Coordinators; nominate someone or nominate yourself. Date for the actual suffrage will be published later.

deletion of library function
Yeah I guessed this might be deleted but tried anyway, other times i've got away with it.. I like wikipedia having nice direct definitions of things, thinking that this will boost AI software (e.g. making pages easier to translate) https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User:Fmadd#micro%20articles
the problem with trying to stuff a definition elsewhere is you begin to run into problems identifying where it 'belongs' (like the problem of OOP) (e.g. should an anchor for 'library function' be in 'library', or 'function' ??). Also it might not necaserily even deserve a section in the target article (e.g. i could stuff 'subroutine(or {vanchor|library function} in there, but when you click the 'library function link', you dont really get a nice target.)
I did turn to 'glossary pages' as a solution , but imagine if wikipedia could just assemble those automatically from categories (e.g. category computer science -> take the first line of each computer science article and render a 'glossary of computer science' page).
It's possible a page like 'library function' could grow over time, e.g. explaining more detail about the issues (static vs dynamic linking, header-only-libraries, what happens with a debugger stepping into library code, ... ) - Such content might already be in the "library" article, but maybe we could separate it out (i.e. the library article would talk in more detail about other things).
Fmadd (talk) 13:25, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
- Hello @Fmadd: I understand your motivation, the problem is that all information in Wikipedia has to be both verifiable (referenced by a reliable source and the topic must be notable enough by itself to justify a stand alone article. I think it should not be too hard to find a reliable source that mentions a library function (you don´t need in depth coverage to insert it in an existing article, just a mention is OK) and just include a phrase in either one of the articles or in both of them. You can then create a redirect from library function to either one. In general and in case they are notable for some reason Glossary pages are not a good idea, as categories satisfy that function. Please see WP:NOTREPOSITORY and WP:NOT#DICDEF. If you need any help please don't hesitaste to contact me. Best regards --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 16:40, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
- Well I started fleshing this out a bit (and adding sources) Library_function ... filling out more details of what these are and how they work (which can go into more low level detail than would make sense in the library article). New sourced information is here regarding the 'rust programming language' (I hope it doesn't come across like spamming..) contrasting details there versus C. Over time people could add more detail. Would this change the perception of "whether or not it deserves an article"? Fmadd (talk) 18:04, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
- Hello @Fmadd: I looked at the sources that you added, but there is still not enough in-depth coverage about the concept to establish its notability as a stand alone article. If the sources can't be found, you can still add the sourced information into the library or the function article. Regards, --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 15:48, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
Ashlan Gorse
Hello,
I work on Ashlan Gorse's management team and am attempting to update her name to her name married name, as well as make other changes to her page, per her request. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.60.131.2 (talk) 18:41, 6 February 2017 (UTC)
Hello,
Recently you refused my request to edit "Ashlan Gorse"'s article title to "Ashlan Gorse Cousteau." I'm an employee at Untitled Entertainment, where Gorse is represented and I have received a request from Gorse herself to update her name to "Ashlan Gorse Cousteau." Please reconsider, thank you. 64.60.131.2 (talk) 20:26, 6 February 2017 (UTC)
- Hello, given your professional relation to Ashlan Gorse you should read WP:AUTO#IFEXIST, WP:PAID and WP:COI. If you can find reliable sources to reference the information, you can request the change at the talk page of the article. For the name, if you can provide a source I can make the edit for you. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 21:03, 6 February 2017 (UTC)

hi Crystallizedcarbon, I'm Kanen here who have created the page "Ocean Shipcare". Kindly note that i have created the page not as advertisement. It is just explaining about the company and services done by the company. Since it was actually created by myself, i would appreciate if you good team could guide myself the way forward. Appreciate yours Kanenosc (talk) 07:33, 7 February 2017 (UTC)

Bryan Cole
The issues with Bryan Cole page have been remedied. Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Michealenems (talk • contribs) 17:46, 7 February 2017 (UTC)
- Hello @Michealenems: You need to add references from independent reliable sources to the article to meet our verifiability and notablility requirements. Regards, --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 15:37, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
This artist has been part of an "ensemble that contains two or more independently notable musicians, or is a musician who has been a reasonably prominent member of two or more independently notable ensembles.[note 5]" and has been referenced as such. What more is needed? Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Michealenems (talk • contribs) 16:00, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
- Hello @Michealenems: Please let me know the ensemble with two or more independently notable musicians or the two notable ensembles. The latest source you added is the only one that is valid towards establishing notability. If you can find at least one more independent reliable source with in-depth coverage I will remove the notability tag, because in that case it would satisfy our general notability guidelines. Next step will be to trim the article so that all the content is sourced by the reliable sources using inline citations. Please see Help:Referencing for beginners. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 16:57, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
@Crystallizedcarbon: Thank you. Cole was part of an ensemble with Red Beach and Kip Winger. This has been updated on his page.
- @Michealenems: I did not see that he was part of the band on his page or elsewhere. You need to provide another source like TribLife that can be considered a Reliable Source for establishing notability. Unfortunately Headbager lifestyle review would not qualify. - @Bayrammuhammedceviz: You are correct, I still don't understand what you mean by "your name false and nick name - my name is real autographi (patented) - not same your name". You did not removed any vandalism from your own biography. you created an article about yourself without any sources or any claim of notability that's the reason why it got deleted. Your last comment is an uncalled for insult and I have left a message on your talk page to that regard. If you want to contribute here, you are very welcome, but please try to follow our policies and please be civil. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 13:22, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
You are right. I have forgotten that you are civil law. How does the evidence mechanism work here? I want to shed light on the laws that do not find acceptance in this period. Re: Ways to improve Plant Information Management System
Hello, Crystallizedcarbon !
I believe that we share the same aim of keeping Wikipedia as one of the greatest tools against ignorance worldwide.
Thanks for your enlightening and kind message about Plant Information Management System. I have created the article, from the German Wikipedia because there was nothing about it in the Wikipedia in English, usually the most complete.
This concept, even though not very popular in massive terms, has growing importance in the all important world of automation engineering. That's why i have translated what our German friends kindly shared.
Of course i will follow your hints to improve the article, as you are a more experienced editor, and they seem point me to the right direction in making more information available to more people through the great and amazing Wikipedia.
Thanks for your guidance.
All the best,
--Hgfernan (talk) 17:49, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
PS: a Brazilian poet that lived in Spain for quite a while, João Cabral de Melo Neto was once called camarada diamante, meaning he was an excellent person. Well, as you certainly know, a diamond is a form of crystallized carbon. 8-)
- Hello @Hgfernan: Thank you for your complement. I will be happy to help you. The main issue with the article is that it has no references. reliable sources are the backbone of Wikipedia. They allow us to satisfy one of the pillars of our enciclopedia: verifiability. Also, by showing in-depth coverage by multiple reliable sources we establish the Notability of the article. Please look for sources and add them as inline citations. All the text of the article must be backed by sources. If you have trouble adding them to the article after you find them, please let me know and I will be happy to give you a hand. Once this article is improved you can also add the same sources if you want to the German project as that article is also unsourced at the moment and is better to have English sources than no sources. Best Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 20:13, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
Why you deleted my article ?
Please describe why again and again without proper reason my pages are deleted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rnhelp (talk • contribs) 09:06, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
- Hello @Rnhelp: The notability of the subject of a biography has to be established for inclusion. The article that you created does not meet our general notability guidelines as it does not have in-depth coverage by multiple independent reliable sources. Blogs are not considered reliable sources, and autopublications by the subject do not contribute to establish notability either. Additionally the article included claims that were not sourced by reliable sources that could be considered promotional. I hope this helps. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 09:41, 17 February 2017 (UTC)

Deletion of LC Technology page
I had previously left a note on the Contest Deletion link, but have not had a reply. So, I will restate what I had stated there. The entry I was doing for LC Technology was deleted, with it seems the reason being not references and such had been included. As I had stated, I was waiting the requisite 4 days so I could upload a graphic of their logo. I had only listed, to that time, the infobox. I was about to populate the page with more information, including references, but the page was deleted. How can I get it back, or do I need to create a new one, this time with references, etc.? Also, is it possible to save it as a "draft" so to speak, so I can work on it before it "goes live"? Is this the sandbox mode?
Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Celticmike (talk • contribs) 17:31, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
- Hello @Celticmike: If you can find in-depth coverage by multiple reliable sources independent of the company I suggest that you create a draft on your sandbox (the link is on the upper right menu). If you can write an article that you feel meets our policies: WP:CORP or WP:GNG and WP:V you can let me know and I will be happy to review it and either point out the problems or help you move it to main space if it meets the requirements for inclusion. Hi
You commented on my article "Fiacha an tSolais" just now.
I learned the poem in school back about 14 or 15 years ago. I think it was in my school book "Is leatsa í". Since then, I found it in Google Search on an exam paper for the Irish Leaving Certificate.
I took the poem from that exam paper and added my own commentary. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thomaspkhealy (talk • contribs) 11:09, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
- Hello @Thomaspkhealy: Please review our general notability guidelines. In order to meet the criteria for inclusion, the poem should have received in depth coverage by multiple independent reliable sources. If you can find those sources you should add them as inline citations to the article (please see Help:Referencing for beginners) be sure to use only material covered by what the sources say. Adding your own commentary is considered original research and it is also against our policies. If you find the needed sources but have trouble adding them to the article let me know and I can give you a hand. If you think they cant be found then the article should be deleted. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 15:45, 24 February 2017 (UTC)

Try to make sure that all the content is referenced and that you use a neutral tone. this three guides should help you Help:Referencing for beginners, reliable sources and Wikipedia:Your first article. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 20:44, 24 February 2017 (UTC)

- Hello @Sbshuvo: In the article there was no indication that he met the notability requirements for people or our general notability guidelines. It has already been deleted twice, the first time after an AfD. Still, only if you can find multiple and independent reliable sources with in depth coverage of the subject, I suggest you create a draft on your sandbox as if you create it directly on the main article space it will probably be speedy deleted again. If on the other hand you can't find the needed sources you should focus on a different subject for your first article. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 23:56, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
Edit to Beinn Sciathan page
Hello there, I just tried to make an edit to the page "Beinn Sciathan" and this was reverted. I don't understand why this would be reverted because I have actually been trying to correct the name of the hill to "Ben Scrien". The term "Sciathan" was an error only introduced recently. Ben Scrien is the correct name for the hill and has been used locally for centuries (please refer to older OS maps). The name has also recently been corrected to Ben Scrien (or Beinn Sgrithean in Gaelic) on Ordnance survey maps. Could the name of the hill therefore be changed to Ben Scrien (or Beinn Sgrithean) on the Wikipedia page please?

Currently the only source included in the article uses Sciathan. I suggest you discuss your proposal on the talk page, be ready to provide reliable sources to show that Scrien is the correct name, if you can find them and there is consensus I could help you adding them to the article and changing the title. Jerry Mahony
Hi My name is Jerry Mahony (Marny), for 4 years my biographical history appeared on your site and although the content was not entirely correct it was OK. In 2015/6 someone put some very racial abusive material under my name amd one of my children managed to remove this. When we replaced the original text I thought it would be a good idea to put my accurate history including my racing history on there. Every time I did this it was replaced by Alsee saying it was not verifiable. Well who better knows my story than me. I have not put any untrue facts on there. Where as the version you put on is completely wrong in a number of areas. My thinking being lets have the right version on there or not bother at all.
I am not hiding behind some strange username that makes me anonymous, in fact if you want to talk to me my email is jerry.mahony@yahoo.co.uk I would like to get this problem sorted out because it feels like someone has a vendetta against me and does not want the true facts to appear on wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.160.255.197 (talk) 20:10, 29 March 2017 (UTC) jerry mahony

- Hello, I just noticed your message. The problem is that one of the pillars of Wikipedia is verifiability. Controversial information that is not referenced by reliable sources can and should be deleted. For non controversial information, the oficial webpage of the subject can also be used. If you can find reliable sources please let me know and I could help you with the changes, as editing your own page is considered a conflict of interests and is strongly discouraged (unless it is to remove unsourced and false information). If on the other hand you can't find any reliable sources to back up the information, I think that we could propose it to be deleted as there does not seem to be enough in-depth coverage to meet our notability requirements for inclusion. Please let me know. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 22:28, 29 March 2017 (UTC)
- Hi JM. I'll reply here because numbered-IP talk pages are a very awkward place for discussions. It's a good thing that you came here to talk. We can try to work with people who talk. Your edits to the article were about to get you blocked from editing, then you wouldn't be able to edit or talk. That would leave you stuck in a bad place. None of us want that.
- First, I don't have any sort of "vendetta" against you. I never even heard of you before I made my first edit to that article last month. I only found that article because of the copied-from-World Heritage Encyclopedia-issue. The only thing I did was restore an older version of the article.
- I believe you probably are Jerry Mahony, but carefully consider this: We don't really have any way of knowing that from our end. Imagine someone else showed up claiming to be you. The former chinese name of Fajar Secondary School
Hi Crystallizedcarbon,
I am an alumni from Fajar Secondary School, graduated in 2004. I have noticed that since the merger of Fajar Sec with Chestnut Drive, they have came up with a new chinese name for the school. I would like to add on the former name of Fajar Sec, 法嘉中学.
The source can be found under the local chinese newspaper article under Zaobao: http://www.zaobao.com.sg/lifestyle/education/news/story20140726-370012
Hope to hear from you, thank you.

New Page Review - Newsletter No.4
Since rolling out the right in November, just 6 months ago, we now have 803 reviewers, but the backlog is still mysteriously growing fast. If every reviewer did just 55 reviews, the 22,000 backlog would be gone, in a flash, schwoop, just like that!
But do remember: Rather than speed, quality and depth of patrolling and the use of correct CSD criteria are essential to good reviewing. Do not over-tag. Make use of the message feature to let the creator know about your maintenance tags. See the tutorial again HERE. Get help HERE.

I received a message from you.
G'day Crystallizedcarbon!
I received a message that you took issue with a change I made on - https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Italian_health_insurance_card -.
Just wanted to let you know that after I repaired the page by removing this from the top of the page - "Alex Tabago sagun". No idea what that was and when it arrived.
After doing so, I must have accidentally moved my cursor and typed some incorrect words that I removed immediately. The page now has no "Alex Tabago sagun" and no "Hi Cynthia." which was a mistake of mine. I think it's fine now right? Apologies!
--GlidingGoose (talk) 12:50, 31 May 2017 (UTC)
- Hello @GlidingGoose: Your first edit was correct, when I reverted your "Hi Cynthia" it got reverted by mistake as well. Thank you for cleaning it up. It's clear that your intention was to make a constructive edit, so I have removed the notice from your talk page. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 14:49, 31 May 2017 (UTC)
That's no problem! I'm glad you picked it up so quickly. Most of my edits are to fix vandalism, so I was disappointed to see myself contributing! Will definitely be making a more concerted effort in the future to ensure I have completed all edits before moving on. Many thanks, and keep fighting the good fight!

Out! Stories from The New Queer India deletion
Hello, Crystal! Greetings! I have recently created a page for the book - Out! Stories from The New Queer India, but was nominated for speedy deletion and was also deleted. I have tried to kept the content as non-promo and neutral as possible. Can you give me tips as to have I could have made the page, even more non-promo and neutral so it gets accepted? Regards Ritu_qgk —Preceding undated comment added 10:52, 28 June 2017 (UTC)
- Hello, the first step is to check if the book meets Wikipedia:Notability (books). If there is enough in depth coverage from multiple independent reliable sources or any of the other criteria are met then I recommend that you create a draft on your sandbox (the link is on the top right menu) using a neutral language. Avoid the use of adverbs or praise words. If you do, when you have it ready I can review it and if it meets our criteria for inclusion I will help you to move it to the main space. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 12:18, 28 June 2017 (UTC)

Backlog update:
- The new page backlog is currently at 18,511 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a a day.
- Some editors are committing to work specifically on patrolling new pages on 15 July. If you have not reviewed new pages in a while, this might be a good time to be involved. Tags on article DoomZ
Hi, I actually do have questions about why you tagged the article DoomZ with the notability and neutrality tags. First of all, as far as I know, it is a notable topic, otherwise I wouldn't have created the article. There is a significant mention of the mod in 4 different reliable publications. Second, I'm not sure why it has "disputed neutrality". I created it due to an article request and did not try to inject any bias into the article, any statements were ascribed to critics and not myself.--ZXCVBNM (TALK) 20:47, 23 July 2017 (UTC)
- Hello @Zxcvbnm: The problem is with the reliability of the sources towards establishing the notability necessary to meet the recommendations at WP:NVIDEOGAMES or WP:GNG. The PC Gamer is clearly a reliable source with in depth coverage, the other three are blogs and while they may complement other sources, It may not be enough to justify inclusion. The other issue is the lack of neutrality or balance as the statements backed by those sources which could be considered Questionable are all positive. The article in my opinion would need additional sources like the one from PC Gamer and more balance trimming or removal of the reviews section. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 16:16, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Crystallizedcarbon: Rock, Paper, Shotgun is a recognized reliable source. VG247 and Kotaku are also reliable sources. Pretty much everyone who writes for those sites are staff members and not just random contributors. So they count as legitimate critics and not just random people. I added an additional statement of criticism to make it less biased towards positive statements. --ZXCVBNM (TALK) 16:30, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
- Hello again @Zxcvbnm: I have removed the tags since the blogs are indeed listed as reliable by the wikiproyect and at least a small statement was introduced to reduce the bias. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 18:47, 24 July 2017 (UTC)

James Ibold
Several reference's were added to this page. James Ibold has been in Musician's Union over 40 years... What issue has failed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by MiInReAs (talk • contribs) 07:37, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
- Hello @MiInReAs: I tagged the article when it had no sources. The problem now is that the sources you added are either not independent or they do not provide in-depth coverage. Please review WP:RS and WP:GNG to see the sources you need to add to the article to establish its notability. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 20:19, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
Yes, there has never been a book written about James Ibold.
As the first line on the page claims; James Ibold backed up Big Joe Duskin for over thirty years... 30 Years... The Cincinnati Enquirer is the only source that could support that exact point. Because Mr. Duskin was really old by then. James Ibold spoke at Joe Duskin's funeral and there is video of that someplace too.
And It is a bit more then a mention because it was an interview, while they say James Ibold one time in the article, they continue to refer to him as the "guitar player". Example: The guitar player goes on to say...
And Norton Buffalo said James Ibold is a world class musician publicly. I can not include that in the article because Ibold has no supporting reference.
B. B. King said James Ibold was one of the best Guitarist he had heard... I can not include that in the article because Ibold has no support.
Gary Mudbone Cooper said James Ibold is the funkiest white boy alive... granted they have been friends for over the last 40 years. Would you call him and ask?
If you look at the Personel on the albums that are distributed internationally... again, that alone is remarkable. Horny Horn's, Tower of power Parliment Funkadelic, world renown artist.
Ibold did not get along with every writer. He never fabricated articles like a lot of your pages have reference too.
Ibold was a Legend in Cincinnati in the Mid 80's. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MiInReAs (talk • contribs) 21:20, 10 August 2017 (UTC)

- We would need to establish if the Cincinnati Blues Society is a reliable source subject to editorial control or if the author is considered an expert in the field and also if it is independent of the subject, did they organize the event? where was this document published? --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 21:26, 11 August 2017 (UTC)
- @MiInReAs: Also, please check the copyright status of the document, unless it is under a compatible license it should be removed from Commons. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 21:29, 11 August 2017 (UTC)
I replace the articles and added more without using wiki commons support. Everything is fine. Ok? It was a good experience for me. As far as tabloid sourcing... The writers are very serious about their craft. Furthermore, Joe Hunneman is an expert... and I am certain he is a fine musician too. As far as those Blues Society's, people volunteer... James Ibold is not really involved in this... but he is the real deal and that is opinion based on years and years of work.

- Hello @MiInReAs: YouTube videos with his works will not contribute to establish his notability. I have removed my delete recommendation but I am not sure if there is enough in depth coverage to justify the inclusion. For now I recommend that you fix the references as recommended by Cordless Larry and see if you can find any additional in-depth coverage by independent reliable sources. I thought you said you were removing the request for deletion. So I started adding to the biography. Please excuse me, I don't not mean to disrespect anyone. Dia-Compe
Thanks for informing me that you had tagged my article, that was polite. However, you seem to miss the fact that the article was a stub (I Tagged it as such, someone else removed that tag). There is no doubt that Dia-Compe is notable and the article cites at least three independent sources (let alone, the fact that the company is legendary in mountain biking). If you want to actually help Wikipedia - don't add tags, do some actual work and improve the articles. Otherwise you are just a troll. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bloodholds (talk • contribs) 01:55, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
- Hello @Bloodholds: When creating an new article is a good idea to follow this guide Wikipedia:Your first article even if it is not your first article. As you can see in Wikipedia:Your_first_article#Gathering_references you should find multiple independent and reliable sources with in depth coverage of the company. You failed to do so as none of the sources you added meet the requirements outlined in our general notability guideliness or WP:CORP. The first source is broken, the company web is not independent, as you can see at WP:ORGIND patents are also not considered independent. Mtbr allows for users to self-publish their reviews, so it is not a valid RS, Cane Creek does not provide any coverage and Velo Base is just a routine listing.
- You should find the required coverage before you create the article. If you want to take your time to find them you can either create it in draft space or in your sandbox and when you have a viable stub you can move it to main space. Wikipedia is a collective project. You do not need to do the whole article by yourself, but if you want to create just a stub for others to improve at least try to find valid sources first or keep it outside main space while you gather them.
- If I don't tag the article and invest my time in explaining to you our policies the most likely result would be that the article would not be improved. I don't have the knowledge or the interest to be an active contributor to this particular page. As its creator I feel that you should take the responsibility to ensure that at least the minimum requirements of our guidelines are met.
- Page 126 and 127 of Commercialization of New Manufacturing Processes for Materials, Staff is an example of a valid reliable source with in-depth coverage that is independent of the company. You need to find and add more valid sources to the article.
- Also it is very important for you to assume good faith in the actions of other editors and refrain from making personal attacks as it is a violation of our oficial policy.
- Finally, please remember to sign your comments on talk pages, either with this button on your menu: or by typing this code: --~~~~
- Thank you. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 14:59, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

Hi Crystallizedcarbon,
Please note that I have made several changes to the overall content, infobox and above all the history section by mentioning the roots of Ingic and the key person behind it. Also, I have updated the article with neutralized content in the customer base, history and services sections. Please consider reviewing it and guide me about what else i can do in terms of its notability. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BerryWeatherly (talk • contribs) 14:16, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
- Hello @BerryWeatherly: The main issue with the article is establishing the notability of the company. Currently it does not meet the requirements outlined in WP:CORP or WP:GNG needed for inclusion. You would need to find in-depth coverage by multiple reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Secondly information that is not referenced by such sources should be removed as well as subjective adjetives and promotional statements such as "rapidly expanded ...", "considerable portfolio ..." and "huge customer base ...". Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 16:19, 31 August 2017 (UTC)

Question
Hello dear Cryztallizedcarbon! Thank you wor inviting me to your talk page. I would like to ask you if you can explain me please, why exactly the page that i tryed to publish been deleted. The page is Stancolac S.A.. Actualy the question is why other pages with the same context of other similar companies are published but my page is deleted? That would help me to understand the logic of wikipedia publications so I will make better pages in future.
And the second question is...as i speak few laguages, I would like to translate few already existed pages. What I should put to the references and external links? The same with the page i will translate or I have to search other source?
Thank you in advance! ElMois (talk) 08:31, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
- Hello @ElMois: Please read this essay: WP:WHATABOUTX. The reason I nominated it for deletion is because there is no claim of notability. Please read WP:CORP and our general notability guidelines. When creating an article you should make sure that the topic is notable. As a first step you should search for multiple reliable sources that are independent of the subject and provide in-depth coverage, routine coverage, mere mentions or just listings are not enough. The website of the company is not independent and the catalogue listing is considered routine coverage. You should look for topics that have made an impact in our society if there are other pages that do not meet our inclusion criteria there are various options to nominate them for deletion. I hope that helps.
- When translating pages from other projects the same principle applies, make sure that they meet the notability guidelines and that the text is not promotional. In that case it is perfectly acceptable to use references in other languages if you can't find them in English. As long as the sources are reliable, independent and provide in-depth coverage, they contribute towards establishing notability. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 08:57, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
"NWA International" Tri-Force Championship
Hello Crystallizedcarbon, my name is Joseph Duncan, Co-Promoter and Director of Public Relations for Vendetta Pro Wrestling. I am writing in regards to changes made to the NWA International Tri-Force Championship article. I updated the article after a recent title change, as well as a change in status from an NWA-Sanctioned title to simply a locally sanctioned Vendetta Pro Wrestling title. I was told my changes, while factual, were not "constructive". How do I make a "constructive", yet truthful and informative change to an article, if the information deemned "not constructive" is accurate? Thanks. Joseph d32 (talk) 10:37, 12 September 2017 (UTC)
- Hello @Joseph d32:. The problem was that you did not add a reference when you made the change. But the bigger issue is that since you are directly connected to both pages you shouldn't have created them. Please review our policy on conflict of interest. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 23:03, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
- I guess I can understand that @Crystallizedcarbon:. Since it's no longer an NWA sanctioned International title, I will not update it further. If you want to remove the Vendetta Pro Wrestling page, I understand, and will remove my account from Wikipedia. Thank you. Joseph d32 (talk) 12:20, 20 September 2017 (UTC)
- Hello @Joseph d32: Thank you very much for your understanding. I will propose both articles for deletion, but you do not need to delete your account. You are more than welcome to continue with your contributions in subjects with which you do not have such a direct relationship. If you need any help or advice in the future feel free to contact me. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 19:32, 20 September 2017 (UTC)
I have absolutely no reason to continue. Thank you. Good bye. Joseph d32 (talk) 09:30, 21 September 2017 (UTC)
Bill Clinton Page
I am confused with the following in the Bill Clinton page Section Public Image
" As the first baby boomer president, Clinton was the first president since Calvin Coolidge not to have been alive during World War II "
Coolidge died in 1933. WWII started 1939 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 119.75.63.38 (talk) 02:48, 14 September 2017 (UTC)
- Hello. If that is the case, then the sentence makes sense, neither one was alive during World War II and all presidents in between should have been. Which part would be confusing? Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 22:51, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
Vaibhav jha
Hi
I understand about the notability of the subject is less. But it is my personal request to you not to delete this subject and kindly remove the mark from deletion of the page. As this can help many young children and entrepreneurs. He is really a talented guy who is doing a great job in educating people free of cost. He belongs from a very humble and low-middle class family, despite of all the ill circumstances he made it possible. So i request you to kindly don't make it out of the main space.
Thankyou so muchContributerdc (talk) 08:42, 16 September 2017 (UTC)
- Hello @Contributerdc: I am sorry I could not help. It was decided by consensus at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vaibhav Jha. There are many resources on internet where you can post his biography. Maybe in the future the subject will gain the needed notability. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 22:57, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
New Page Reviewer Newsletter
Backlog update:
- The new page backlog is currently at 14304 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a day.
- Currently there are 532 pages in the backlog that were created by non-autoconfirmed users before WP:ACTRIAL. The NPP project is undertaking a drive to clear these pages from the backlog before they hit the 90 day Google index point. Please consider reviewing a few today!
Technology update:
- The Wikimedia Foundation is currently working on creating a new filter for page curation that will allow new page patrollers to filter by extended confirmed status. For more information see: T175225
General project update:
- On 14 September 2017 the English Wikipedia began the autoconfirmed article creation trial. For a six month period, creation of articles in the mainspace of the English Wikipedia will be restricted to users with autoconfirmed status. New users who attempt article creation will now be redirected to a newly designed landing page.
- Before clicking on a reference or external link while reviewing a page, please be careful that the site looks trustworthy. If you have a question about the safety of clicking on a link, it is better not to click on it.

Catalan referendum talk
(Coming from the Catalan referndum talk...) First of all, what I said is what you see, nothing less, nothing more, I never accused you of sockpuppeting, but I am not taking an interrogation of yours. Stop commenting on me in the article's page and making a fuss,WP:NPA trying to 'misrepresent me and making noise, like "if you stop using the revert button (intended for vandalism) and use arguments instead" (sic) WP:TEND (...), and we may get to sth after all. Should this not stop, I reserve the possibility of taking matters further. Regards... Iñaki LL (talk) 22:07, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
- @Iñaki LL: I am glad that you cleared it up even if your tone still seems a bit confrontational. You should not address BallenaBlanca and me as one as you did in two separate occasions in the talk page of the article, as it could be misinterpreted. My comments there were not personal attacks they pointed out what I consider to be actions not according to our policy and were made in response to your continuos accusations to Ballena and me of POV pushing, Bulldozing etc. when you have a userbox that indicates a clearly biased POV on this matter
and a possible WP:COI. I am not underlining this to further acuse you. I am totally against personal attacks or talking about anything other than content at talk pages. I welcome your contributions to the article and I don't want you to stop contributing. I am just trying to make you understand why I had to respond the way I did. I am convinced that you will stop making offensive comments on the talk page. Lets follow WP:BRD. My comments there from now on will also be exclusively on content. I hope that with my last edit to the page we can finally put that argument to rest. On that note, there is a tag on the economic effects section that it is out of date. If you want, you can add yourself the information about the companies that left and the law that the government passed to facilitate those moves in a neutral way adding both viewpoints with attribution. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 04:23, 20 October 2017 (UTC)- @Iñaki LL:, talking about your political orientation is not a personal attack. It's curious that you consider it that way... You have no right to delete or edit comments from other people WP:TPO, in the same way that we have not done with yours, although you have actually made personal attacks. Let's avoid personal comments and let's focus on the page.
- I think the last edit of Carbon is correct and ends the controversy.
- I hope we can continue to collaborate in peace. Thank you both very much.
- Best regards. --BallenaBlanca (Talk) 07:34, 20 October 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you @BallenaBlanca: I think you are right, but I am OK with removing the userbox from the talkpage, and I have done so myself as a show of good Faith to Iñaki in hopes it will be of help. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 09:56, 20 October 2017 (UTC)
- ...Sorry but I do not have as much time as you, you have an attitude problem and that is why I come here, hope this can clarify things. Quickly. That is welcome you removed the userbox, that does not belong there, read WP:TALK and WP:TEND. Secondly, you are not understanding what WP:COI is for a start, that is just noise, so please refrain from citing that, there are no neutral editors, there are neutral or biased edits. I hope this helps, read also WP:NPOV, hope it brings up a bit of humility from you in actions. Also, I have had to fix several sources that do not support the statement, and seem to have been added by you or BallenaBlanca, sorry I have no time to check but but can be easily checked. However, as a gesture, I fixed it myself, but you need to take responsibility for your own actions, and not rush to revert or add whatever source, that may be held as disruptive. Finally, I am glad to see you that integrated key information. However, the first paragraph is still a mess full of negative details that do not belong there, also someone added again a paragraph in contravention of WP:LEDE, but listen I cannot keep here forever, so that's it. Bye. Iñaki LL (talk) 12:32, 20 October 2017 (UTC)
- @Iñaki LL: You are right, I reviewed the WP:COI and it does not apply in your case so I do apologice for that. I have removed all mentions from the talk page. the userbox that made reference to the subject of the article with a crossed ballot box and the text "This user opposes the policies and views of Mariano Rajoy." is just showing that you have a biased POV for this article but does not constitute a conflict of interest. About the attitude problem, I tried over and over to convince you that deleting the word illegal from the lead while adding only partial information was biased. Accusing BallenaBlanca and me of POV Pushing and Buldozing while you were using the revert button on us for that same reason made it hard to continue being cordial. Referring to BallenaBlanca and myself as one was the last straw. Not only have I read WP:NPOV I quoted it on the talk page as to argue why a term used by most sources should not be removed and why if you added information about the law passed by Parliament you should also include that it was suspended and did not meet the 2/3 requirement. The reference that you just changed was copied from the stable version and did source the part about the parliament passing the law. Yours was more complete and BallenaBlanca finished adding the fields you forgot to change. We seem to have finally reached an acceptable version, so as I said before it is all water under the bridge for me if you let it be so. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 17:16, 20 October 2017 (UTC)
- Ok, good to hear you are taking some things I pointed and you removed that from the talk page. I commented before on other claims your are repeating here from the referred article's talk page, so do not feel like comming back to it, over. As for "biased POV", sorry I commented on that as well above; you claim to be "a proud" Spanish and the Spanish flag next to it, so nothing more to say. It is appreciated, but I had to remove your changes with an NPA tag, since signed comments should never be altered and can be misleading. Good night. Iñaki LL (talk) 20:46, 20 October 2017 (UTC)
- Since you prefer it that way I restored the comments with a strike through as I assumed my mistake. And no, I don't think that been Spanish or having the Spanish flag automatically implies a bias. Yours on the other hand refers directly to the article. Good night. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 21:37, 20 October 2017 (UTC)

Swift Polling - marked for deletion
Hi there,
Thanks for your revision of my article. Please do not delete it yet as I need more time to work on it.
The article is significant because it is about an existing softwate product, and I made it trying to avoid making it look like an advertisement.
Anything else I can clarify?
Thanks,

Forgive me but did you mean to say that Catalan is not an ethnicity in your latest edit to Oriol Junqueras? --DewyBukiaPeters (talk) 19:26, 26 October 2017 (UTC)DewyBukiaPeters
- Hello @DewyBukiaPeters: That was my belief, neither one of the sources in the article Catalans that source the claim seem to be working. But according to es:Raza_catalana it seems to be a claim made by separatists since the XIX century to justify their aspirations, so I stand corrected. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 20:37, 26 October 2017 (UTC)
question about your restore prev release
Hy Yesterday we've finished ur 6 convention on Urban Beekeeping
I'm afraid to not comprehend you decision to restore and remove all information about Turin, about global definition oof urban beekeeping and of the history.
I'm happy to provide you all the requirements to let you be informad of the urban beekeeping at all. So, apart from this, you can search publications of your universities, of the Paolo Faccioli's publications on Academia about history (from 1905) about developements and researches on pesticides and bio monitoring since 1984 to our recend days.

Declaration of Independence of Catalonia
Declaration ... is a resolution that was passed by the Parliament of Catalonia on 27 October 2017, which declared the independence of Catalonia from Spain and the founding of an independent Catalan Republic. It seems you are sure about this and removed [dubious – discuss] mark. I'm not so, can you provide a link to such a resolution? Also, your argument was Sources are already in the article (BBC, etc.) - I checked these sources and neither of them mentions such a resolution.--SubRE (talk) 10:29, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
- Hello @SubRE: In case it was not clear enough in those, here is another you can add Catalans declare independence. As far as its actual effects, I agree that they are very limited, it's also worth mentioning that the voting itself was done against the Parliament's own legal services that warned that the vote would be illegal. That can all be added to the body and it could be summarized in the lead as well, but that the declaration of independence was made (even if it was done illegally), does not seem to be at all dubious.--Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 11:55, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
- It's not a question about declaration of independence. It is a question about existence of aforementioned resolution passed by the Parliament of Catalonia. Did Parliament of Catalonia pass it, or did not. There is no sources (at least I didn't find) claiming Parliament actually passed such a resolution.--SubRE (talk) 12:24, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
- @SubRE: Here is the wording in one of the sources: "The Catalan parliament motion was “to constitute a Catalan republic as an independent, sovereign, democratic and social state”. The announcement it was passed was received with wild cheers and celebrations..." (bold is mine). --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 12:40, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
- Still, there is no word about existence of aforementioned resolution. If it was passed, it should be issued, right? I know crowds gone wild, but ... where is actual document?--SubRE (talk) 13:15, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
- @SubRE: Here you can find it: 'We establish the Catalan republic as an independent state': Catalan separatists file resolution ahead of independence declaration. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 13:26, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
- It seems that it has been very short lived, as Puigdemont just declared that his political party will participate in the Spanish regional elections for Catalonia and that he will respect its results. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 13:28, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
- Still there is no mentioning this particular resolution was passed by Parliament of Catalonia. In fact, there was a proposal approved for this resolution, but apparently voting on resolution itself never took place.--SubRE (talk) 14:15, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
- @SubRE: Well, here is a source that uses that wording Spain Dismisses Catalonia Government After Region Declares Independence: "separatists in the Catalan Parliament passed a resolution to create “a Catalan republic as an independent state.”" (bold mine). It was passed with 70 votes.--Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 16:38, 31 October 2017 (UTC)

Backlog update:
- The new page backlog is currently at 12713 pages. Please consider reviewing even just a few pages each day! If everyone helps out, it will really put a dent in the backlog.
- Currently the backlog stretches back to March and some pages in the backlog have passed the 90 day Google index point. Please consider reviewing some of them!

. Adding more qualified reviewers will help with keeping the backlog manageable.
New Year New Page Review Drive
- A backlog drive is planned for the start of the year, beginning on January 1st and running until the end of the month. Unique prizes will be given in tiers for both the total number of reviews made, as well as the longest 'streak' maintained.
- Note: quality reviewing is extremely important, please do not sacrifice quality for quantity.
General project update:
- ACTRIAL has resulted in a significant increase in the quality of new submissions, with noticeably fewer CSD, PROD, and BLPPROD candidates in the new page feed. However, the majority of the backlog still dates back to before ACTRIAL started, so consider reviewing articles from the middle or back of the backlog.
- The NPP Browser can help you quickly find articles with topics that you prefer to review from within the backlog.

New Years new page backlog drive
Announcing the NPP New Year Backlog Drive!
We have done amazing work so far in December to reduce the New Pages Feed backlog by over 3000 articles! Now is the time to capitalise on our momentum and help eliminate the backlog!
The backlog drive will begin on January 1st and run until January 29th. Prize tiers and other info can be found HERE.
Awards will be given in tiers in two categories:
- The total number of reviews completed for the month.
- The minimum weekly total maintained for all four weeks of the backlog drive.
NOTE: It is extremely important that we focus on quality reviewing. Despite our goal of reducing the backlog as much as possible, please do not rush while reviewing.
If you wish to opt-out of future mailings, go here. — TonyBallioni (talk) 20:24, 30 December 2017 (UTC)
