Hello!

Welcome to the Global University Program! I'm Rob Schnautz, ambassador to KY, MI, and WI, and alumnus of USI. Chanitra Bishop, ambassador to IL/IN/KY, should be contacting you shortly if she hasn't already. If you don't hear from anyone within the next few days, let me know and I'll try to speed things up for you. Bob the WikipediaN (talkcontribs) 18:01, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

Thank you Bob the Wikipedian! talk Etlib and I have made contact. (See below) It's good to hear that you're from USI. The Rice Library is giving me some assistance on the project. I believe this is a first effort for our campus, unless you would know of an early project. Crtew (talk) 16:49, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

Hello!

Hello. My name is Chanitra Bishop. As Rob mentioned above, I sent you an email with more details about Rob and me. Please email me as soon as possible so we can try to get an Online Ambassador assigned to your class.

I look forward to hearing from you. Etlib (talk)

Hi Etlib! talk My students have submitted their first drafts. From the table on my course page it looks as if five out of six students had no problems! Another batch couldn't figure the technology out (as I found out from my email), but we will help them get their drafts online, too. After this they will transition to the next step: To craft these rough drafts into acceptable enyclopedic content. Crtew (talk) 16:49, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

Tawakel Karman

Welcome to WP and nice pair of edits. There is some stuff like replication of sources that you did but should have used ref name tags. I've done that. the sources for verifiability should have some sort of link to it because, while no one is doubting you, at some pt it may come into question. The tags are good to draw attention to readers who can perhaps get that link. Also the lead additions of the co-recipients are on the talk page, and i added more stuff there.Lihaas (talk) 20:47, 8 October 2011 (UTC)

Thanks
Ref name tags save on duplication as we then dont add the whole ref info again as the same gets tagged on to the other usages across the page. See the bottom for example and youll note that some refs have a "a,b,c," before it. thats from ref names. it also saves memory and hence loading time to the toal size of the page.
not saying lexis nexis is bad, but can it be verified somewhere? a google search for the article title could bring it upLihaas (talk) 21:04, 8 October 2011 (UTC)
Is there a source for this and t]thisLihaas (talk) 21:29, 8 October 2011 (UTC)

Not that big, but youd save on your edits by using "preview" instead of "save" esp. in the beginningLihaas (talk) 22:01, 8 October 2011 (UTC)
The context, etc is linked through to the page on the protests which adds more. As Karman's page it should deal with her not the scope that gets split off and more suited to the other page. (by general practice)
Per LEAD, the lead should summarise the article not to give details, which are and should be in the article proper.
Good idea on the map. But which section? Protests? Wed have 2 pics there and none elsewhere. Also ote it has to be relevant to her page (which the obel one isnt)Lihaas (talk) 02:04, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
YOUR edit of undoing the work previously without ANY explanation whatsoever to replicate edit was "breathtaking" SImilarly you should discuss it to with sch a "breathtaking edit"
In fact yu orarely give reason for ANY edit(Lihaas (talk) 17:16, 26 December 2011 (UTC)).
there were that wholescale change per the link in my edit summary(Lihaas (talk) 21:28, 26 December 2011 (UTC)).
Itd yhe content changes! Bare refs can be redpone using wikitools they dont change anything significant. 1 simple click can redo the barerefs.
Incidentally your format for the refs was not the way its done here.Lihaas (talk) 20:56, 8 January 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. In the future, it is recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, reduces edit conflicts, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Thank you. Best regards, Cind.amuse (Cindy) 06:35, 10 October 2011 (UTC)

Hi, this message is to let you know about disambiguation links you've recently created. A link to a disambiguation page is almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. For more information, see the FAQ or drop a line at the DPL WikiProject.

Bahrain

Hey,

You seem to be interested in articles about Bahrain. So I though I would share this link with you. It takes you to the shadow report of Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry report. It's is a joint report by a group of Bahrain's independent rights NGOs presenting the main key findings from the ongoing effort to document human rights violations occurring in the state of Bahrain in 2011.

It would be nice to have a talk with you, so don't hesitate to write on my talk page. Bahraini Activist (talk) 06:50, 28 November 2011 (UTC)

CPJ Award winners

Hi Dr. Tew,

I was just reading on your User Page about your terrific class project after our paths overlapped at Kondengui Central Prison. Thanks so much for doing this--Wikipedia's coverage of journalists always lags sadly behind its coverage of Pokemon. And thanks, too, for the graphic on Kondengui.

I don't know if this is something you might be interested in in the future, but one project I've been working on off and on this year is a template for CPJ International Press Freedom Award laureates (below)--I've filled in most of them at this point, but not all, and of course 2011 has brought 4 new winners that I haven't even had time to add to the template yet. No doubt you've got plenty of your own projects you're pursuing, but in case this is something that might interest you, I thought I'd extend the invitation your way. Cheers, and keep up the good work! -- Khazar (talk) 06:46, 26 December 2011 (UTC)

Thanks! Some semester in the future I may pick your brain about how this course went for you. I'm a teacher myself and have often thought of giving a nearly identical assignment. Happy holidays! -- 96.35.41.196 (talk) 07:21, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
