I like seeing new users get DYKs. Can you possibly take a look at Indonesian related Template:Did you know nominations/Last Child (band) so it doesn't get pulled for copyvio? --LauraHale (talk) 08:16, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
- Redyka's not exactly new, he's had 3 or 4 self noms since I adopted him. Paraphrasing against RS is fine. Crisco 1492 (talk) 08:23, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
- Can you comment to say that? I've seen some major nasty attacks on reviewers for missing paraphrasing and it just makes me want to hide and over react every time I even suspect it. :( It is awful for everyone involved. I don't want to say it and be wrong. (One bit could just be solved by tossing quote marks.) I don't want to not say it and then get chewed out. --LauraHale (talk) 09:08, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

Cultural Properties
Hi there, I'm trying to update List of heritage registers and saw there's nothing yet for Indonesia, so you seemed the obvious person to come to (will take this to the Wikiproject if you're not interested, which is of course fine); I couldn't immediately find anything by general search or on the Culture Ministry website - but here on the UNESCO Database of National Cultural Heritage Laws there seem to be several laws relating to Indonesian Cultural Properties. Don't know if you would be interested/able to add a brief new introductory page or at least a couple of links? Once such a start is made, tables can follow, then red links can gradually turn blue, or something like that... Don't know if there's something on the Indonesian Wikipedia? Thanks, Maculosae tegmine lyncis (talk) 15:23, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
- This article on a kerfuffle (big news back in late 2011) suggests those are provincial laws. I don't know if there is a national list. I'll try asking the Missus later. Crisco 1492 (talk) 22:47, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
- Interesting, and thanks, Maculosae tegmine lyncis (talk) 00:22, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
- I found some cultural heritage sites (Benda cagar budaya; not necessarily buildings), with a partial list here (the ones on that list mostly have articles, from what I saw). This suggests that there are 8,232 (!) such sites as of 2008. Can't find a full list. Crisco 1492 (talk) 00:34, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

Question on Featured Article inclusion at Signpost
I was and still am rather hesitant to bring this up, since it feels like i'm just blowing my own horn, but...I was wondering, I assume the cutoff happens in ten hours time for what's considered this week and next week, right? Because Cracker Barrel just passed, but the bot hasn't come through to mark it yet and could do that at any time. Is it considered a part of the current issue that will be coming out in ten hours or is it pushed to next week's issue? SilverserenC 03:38, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
- The cut-off date for featured content is Sunday at 0:00 UTC, so the Cracker Barrel article will have to wait until next week. Congrats, BTW. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 04:17, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

- I see it is called National Hero of Indonesia. Heroine refers to the spouse of the male hero. Not sure about the wording in the lead "is a National Heroine of Indonesia". --NGC 2736 (talk) 00:57, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
- The article hero has "heroine" for female heroes. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 01:00, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
- Never heard "heroine" as being the wife of the hero. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 01:02, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
- Hmm, bad mistake on my part. I seriously thought "heroine" refers to spouse of hero. Effects of Bollywood, I guess, LOL. Well, I just tried to point out that the word "hero" is now considered gender-neutral. See, for example, The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language which defines hero as "A person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life". See this, specifically this. Now if the official papers call her "heroine", then it will be the only suitable title, of course. --NGC 2736 (talk) 01:13, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
- Hmm, I'll keep that in mind for the next one. Indonesian generally doesn't gender-differentiate for heroes. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 01:19, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

- At Sadler? Nope. Of course, feedback for Maida would still be appreciated. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 01:42, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
